Cronos’ reign – Cronos as the absolute Monarch
Cronos reign started off with the ending of the victorious battle for the Supernatural against the Hypercosmic Forces, about 65 million years ago. Completely satisfied from the result of the battle and his own efforts, with the help of the Cyclops and the Hekatoncheires, Cronos erected his palaces on the western side, the Himalayan plateaus. Upon becoming absolute monarch on Earth by Cronos, everything was initially calm and justice dominated in the area. The chain of command of life was following the laws of nature to the letter, under the prudent leadership of the yet impeccable Cronos. But soon, everything would start sliding slowly but steadily into Cronos’ strict control. All of his siblings had succumbed to his power. There was nothing that could stand against him.
The just and auspicious reign of Cronos in a form of a troika with his two brothers, Hyperion and Iapetus, and the twelve-party council adhering to the democratic principles and values, lasted for only 33 thousand centuries. Ever since that time, slowly but steadily, Cronos would start sliding into more authoritarian models of government. Initially, he ousted his two brothers that had originally formed part of the 2nd Troika. Then, he got rid of all the rest of his siblings and dissolved the twelve-party council. It was because of those changes that reactions started, as we saw in the previous chapter, about 50 million years ago, resulting the fall of the meteorite. That despicable authoritarianism would last for 22 million years, gradually and steadily becoming a senseless, cruel and cynical authority. Following that, i.e., from 27.5 million years to about half a million years, Cronos’ autocracy became foul and odious. That period comprises the second period of the 3rd Battle of the Titans, around the end of which the Earth was given the oracle of the advent of a new “Fighter of the Light”, as the redeemer and savior of the Natural Powers. Then for a period of 400 years, that is, about 500 to 100 thousand years ago, whereby the presaging and portends for the advent of the “Warrior of the Light” multiplied. 100 years ago would be the time when, amidst world-shattering historical events, Homo sapiens would evolve into Homo sapiens-sapiens. During that period, great and epic clashes took place, the likes of which had never happened before and neither will happen in the future. In general, from start to finish, Cronos’ autocracy would win over 150 times, 3333 thousand centuries, having three levels, while lasting 50 million years in total.
Darkness fell on planet Earth and the chain of command of the living beings that Cronos had applied, was quickly staffed by creatures ready to follow Cronos’ orders with great willingness, satisfying their own personal, ulterior needs for power. The suppression across the Globe had become unbearable. Already the glaciers, starting off from the poles of the Earth, would work their way towards the equator, covering great parts of the north and south hemisphere. Life was being ‘compressed’ in a belt along the equator. Things started to become extremely dangerous for all living beings. Gaia, mother-Earth, started getting tired feeling the pain from the loss and the imprisonment of her children. She was constantly giving birth to new children to replace those lost, but soon, those would also be destroyed at a rate faster than the one she was giving birth to them. She had to do something to stem that loss. For once more, she decided to break her neutrality, something she would do only very rarely and always with prudence and parsimony. She communicated with the few peace-loving titans and she started hatching a plan to replace the cruel reign of Cronos on Earth. In her effort to rekindle optimism, morale and hope across all living things on Earth, Gaia began at the same time circulating some yet vague portends which however she would later specify more, according to which she prophesied through all the oracles of the earth, the advent of the Warrior of Light, that would take it upon himself to liberate Earth from Cronos’ unholy and unpopular reign of Cronos.
Cronos started getting suspicious, and for this reason, he hardened his rule even more. He suspected everyone. He would sleep lightly and with half-opened eyes, just like every suppressor who is afraid of his own shadow. He would look at everyone suspiciously and would easily send everyone to his death or to prison, even his most trusted and close associates. Even the most powerful of the Titans, Oceanus, by then powerless and partitioned into five weaker powers,29 would be considered harmless and was cast aside. In any case, he had already voluntarily retreated from the handling of common affairs.
When time was nearing the end of the second period, in her effort to rekindle the optimism, morale and hope cross all living things on Earth, Gaia started to make her oracles in which she prophesied the advent of the Warrior of Light who would redeem Earth from the appalling and ignoble reign of Cronos. That solar warrior would be born out of Cronos. The prophecy rattled Cronos and made him even more dangerous and cruel-hearted. The oracle was clear: “from Cronos’ seed shall the redeemer come”. This was what Pythia and Dione had prophesied in the primordial oracles of the earth, the oracle of Delphi and Dodona. Having this prophecy always in his mind, Cronos started wandering amongst the Natural Forces, reaching the point of fearing and suspecting every newborn child of his. For that reason, he ‘imprisoned’ his children in his belly, demanding that Rhea, his wife, surrender every newborn to him. At the same time, he killed and imprisoned whoever he suspected of usurping his authority and power. To ward off every possibility of his toppling and securing of his autocratic rule, he had his secret, impregnable and inaccessible palaces built, most likely situated somewhere not even on the surface of the Earth, to seek refuse in, if something went amiss. Certainly, he had secured the alliance of a part of the Hypercosmic Powers. Who would be able to penetrate his secret palaces, if something went amiss? Who would be able to reach such a well-protected place such as Tartarus, surrounded by dark, poisonous gases, hideous serpents and labyrinthine corridors on a way that had to cross the poisonous Acheron Lake? And how about the Black waters of the Styx? Who could pass through all those obstacles and remain unscathed or with his life? Cronos had indeed taken all measures to secure his bloody, irreverent reign. He formed alliances with strange, paranormal living beings, in his effort to turn all living things into frightened slaves. Those paranormal living beings the legends said that were children of Gaia, but others said they were simply extraterrestrial lifeforms. Whatever they might have been, they were very powerful and dangerous. Such lifeforms were Typhoeas, Echidna and Typhon.
Following Cronos’ alliance with those paranormal beings, in every small-scale revolt, either of the Natural or the Hypercosmic Powers, or in every case Cronos thought there was something going on that he didn’t like, he would at once send forth those extraterrestrial lifeforms to wreak havoc and destruction. Whenever Cronos used them, it would be to decimate crops and spread death and pestilence and enforce Cronos’ reign through violence and pain. So gradually, all thought of a revolution or any other reaction before the advent of the “Warrior of Light” of the third Battle of the Titans was extinguished.
