Chapter seven-Payback

“What the hell is going on here”.my father asked his face contoured furiously.

“Father, Adam he tried to bride me out your house”. I told him pointing at Adam as fake tears rolled down my face.

“Hey dad it’s not what you think”.

“What does he think huh?”.

“Shut up”.

“Don’t tell me to shut up”. I said and Adam turned to look at me.

“Don’t mess with me Asia”.

“What are you going to do”.

“Both you enough”. My father yelled at both of us our heads turning to his direction.

“What is going on here”.he asked

“I just told you,father he..”.he raised a hand to stop me

“Not a word from you”.he whispered to me as to tell me he didn’t believe everything I just told him. He turned to his son eyes asking for an explanation.

“I brought her here to talk about mom and her behavior. I was trying to be civil with her trying to make her understand that she was wrong”.Adam said the lie rolling off his tongue with perfection.

“That’s not true”. I butted in

“Stay quiet Asia”. My father gave me a warning look

“Why did I walk in on you two tangled together”. Adam froze the look in my father’s eyes could kill in an instant

“It’s not what it looked like..”.

“Exactly, he had..”. The glare I received from my father shut me up.

“Go home”. He said to me before turning to Adam the expression on his face softened my brows furrowed in rage as I walked out of the building.

Later in the day Sharon came over after school

“Hey where were you?. I texted you a bunch no reply girl come on what is going on?”. I sat up as she threw her self onto my bed kicking off her shoes

“Adam tried to bribe me”. I answered her looking at a little bracelet she held in her hand

“WHAT”. She screamed sitting back up, “you have got to be kidding. He did what”. Her eyes flared looking straight into mine. I smiled at her

“Tell me your dad did something about it”.

“Nope. He didn’t believe me when I told him”

“Oh my .. I can’t believe this”. She said shaking her head as she looked at me with worry in her eyes just as Ava walked in with two glasses of juice

“Ava did you hear”.

“Yes”. Ava said setting the tray down on my nightstand.

“You don’t have to worry about anything as long as you didn’t accept that deal your father..”.

“I don’t think he really cares like you believe he does”. I spoke grabbing a glass and taking a sip

“Of course he does”. Ava tried to coax me but there was nothing she was going to say to make me believe that that man cared a tiny bit about me

“I believe he does too”. Sharon said after both of them trying to cheer me up and give some kind of hope. I looked at my friends and I believe that they love me more than my own father did.

“I love you guys”. I pulled them into a hug,

“We love you too”. Sharon said as they both hugged me back.

Later that evening I went down stairs into the lobby there stood Adam he turned to me and I could see the anger in his eyes which made me take a step back,

“You!”.he whispered, I stayed silent sending my own waves of anger at him my eyes shooting daggers at him. He advanced towards me with menacing speed

“Do you know what you almost caused me”. His voice set deep and very angry it vibrated through me coursing through my belly. I tried to side step to get out of his way but he grabbed me pinning me to the wall blocking my path as he stood in front of me his grip tightening around my arm his breath fanning my face as he stared down at me

“Let go of me you’re hurting me”. I said with gritted teeth trying to pull away from him

“You are going to pay for what you did”.

“I did nothing so let me go”.

“You almost got me in trouble with dad when I was looking for the best of the family”.

“The best for the family?. What about me you son of a b*tch”. I spit back in face I was unbothered about proximity and the intensity in his eyes I was angry and that’s all I saw

“This is my family too where you like it or not he’s my father so you’d better come to terms with that and leave me the hell alone cause I’m not going anywhere”. At this point I didn’t understand why our bodies where smudged together spearmint and peppermint mixing together as stood in the corner of the the stairwell, my breath coming out hushed as his escaped his parted lips his arms loosened on me and I used the opportunity to pull away from darting in the dining area. I hadn’t realized he followed me in until I felt those familiar arms circle around my waist lifting of my feet and slamming me down on the dining table my legs parting allowing me to stand in between them our bodies flashed against each other again our faces breaths away from each other my heartbeat skyrocketing without reason as I stared at the man before me

“What do you want?”.my hand grabbing at his arms to push him away

“I’m doing this for you”.he whispered his lips almost brushing mine

“Doing what exactly”. Anger bubbled in my chest

“You can’t be his daughter”.

“Keep telling yourself that”. I leaned into him, his hand cupping my neck as he stared at me his breath going faster by the minute eyes darting between my eyes and lips darkening with every second. Just then I wanted to feel his lips on mine my eyes strained on those perfect lips I bit my lip only for his hand on my neck to tighten choking the remaining oxygen out

“You..”. He breathed out brushing his lips gently on mine just as my cell phone rung snapping us out of our dazed we looked at my phone the caller id read Mason. I pushed him slightly and he moved helping me down from the table I picked up the call as I run out of the dining room.
