Zayne’s POV I did not sleep. I hadn’t expected to find sleep so easily after everything that had happened to my drug. Sleep had become a foreign thing long before Sky walked back into my office, pale and shaking, and even though I had slept too well in San Francisco doesn't mean it was just going to return just because she was now behind a locked door with guards posted outside. If anything, my instincts were louder. I sat in the armchair beside the bed, my forearms braced on my thighs, my attention fixed on her breathing. It was steady now, finally even, the shallow rise and fall of her chest a quiet reassurance that she was here. That she hadn’t vanished again.
