The hallway fell silent. Voices occasionally came from a distance. Adrian stared at me. His lips moved several times before he finally forced out the words. "That's impossible. She sent me her location. She was there on the mountain road." Watching him continue to make excuses, I couldn't even be bothered to mock him. "Check for yourself. Look up the road-closure records from that night." I paused before adding, "And find out which hotel bathroom she was sitting in when she called you." With that, I turned to leave.
