Adrian stood there for a long moment. The light stretched his shadow across the scattered petals, leaving it there alone. This time, he didn't follow me. Once a sincere heart has been trampled, picking up the pieces can never make it what it was before. Over the next few months, I settled fully into life in Bellmont. The orchestra's tour was a tremendous success. Richard also helped me find a nanny to care for the baby during rehearsals. Life was simple and busy.
