Leslie was taken aback by Derek's brusque response, feeling a pang of hurt. She pushed his heavy, muscular body to the side, "I can't breathe," she said, her voice strained. Sitting up, Leslie was about to slip on her slippers when she remembered the blood stains she had been seeing on the floor for weeks. "I've been seeing blood on the floor for weeks now," she said, her back to Derek as she spoke. "Is it still there?" Derek asked, his tone cold. "They would disappear every time I took a shower," Leslie replied, her voice quiet. "Is it still there?" Derek repeated, his tone unchanged. "No," Leslie responded calmly. "Then stop thinking about it," Derek said dismissively, ending the conversation. "Go to sleep," Derek commanded, positioning one of his arms under his head as a makeshif
