Chapter 2 Strong left hook you got there

Herald is out of the agency and starts leaving on his own. He was given a good retirement fund and was living conveniently in a duplex. He had a golden retriever dog named Roy, it was an amazing dog and herald loved it so much. As time went on herald started a business of his own. Herald was an awesome cook so he started his own grill shop, where he had his signature burger and an amazing smoothie mix. The business was doing well. He also had employees who were working for him. His life was awesome. One day at work Herald was on break so he decided to stay in and have a sandwich while eating. A lady walked in and she took his breath away. She had red hair, blue eyes, and an amazing smile. She came in, ordered a sandwich and Herald could not take his eye off her until she left. After she left he snapped back to reality and realized that he didn't even get up to talk to her, so I smiled and went back to work. Work was amazing that day and they closed, on his way coming from work Herald noticed the red Hair lady this time she was wearing a black jacket and holding a black purse. She walked toward a bus stop in the hope to get a taxi, Herald kept watching her. Suddenly two men came close to her and one of them threatened her with a knife trying to rob her. Herald rushed to her aid when he realized that the lady was not afraid of these men. He was about to get to her when he saw the lady fighting back, she kicked the first guy in his knots and turned to punch the other guy while she grabbed her purse back. She was picking the purse back when one of the robbers tried to stab her but Herald rushed in and knocked him out.

“That amazingly strong left hook you got their lady,” Herald said while smiling and catching his breath. She turned and to see him she smiled.

“ A lady has to protect herself from this street rat. Besides, your reflexes are not that bad as well”.

She replied.

Herald was so amazed at how brave she was this made him even fascinated by her.

“ Hey, I'm Herald, Herald Decker,” he said.

“Nice to meet you and thank you” she replied while walking towards the bus stop to get a taxi.

He walked with her

“ So how often do you eat at my restaurant?” he asked while they were both walking toward a taxi that was waiting for a passenger.

She replied to him and said, “ I think your smoothie compliments your burger” while entering into the taxi getting set to leave.

“I didn't even get your name” he yelled while the taxi drove off.

Herald got home that night astonished and could not stop thinking about her; he kept looking forward to seeing her again. The next day he got to work in hope that he would see her but she didn't show up and besides he knew nothing about her, unfortunately, she didn't show up that day. The next day she came to the shop and placed an order for a banana smoothie, Herald was glad so he went to her.

“ Is my smoothie that amazing or did you want to confirm if it was really my restaurant?” he said while coming towards her with a banana and a burger.

She smiled and replied

“I just want to know if the man that saved me was really a cook, amazing reflux for a chef”

He then put the food on the table and sat with her she took a bite of the burger and said

“ it Torvi”

“ What’s that “ he replied

“My name, silly,” she said while sipping from the smoothie cup.

“ Beautiful name for a beautiful lady,” He said

While she eating “thanks” she replied

“So what is a man with good reflexes like yours doing owning his own restaurant,” she asked.

“ Why don't I answer your question over dinner, if that's fine by you?” He replied.

Torvi smiled and said, “ I do like Burgers but believe me I love a good meal as well, 15 Allison Dr, 8 pm tomorrow don't be late”. She stood up getting ready to leave.

“ I will be there,” Herald said as Torvi was leaving.

He was so excited that he was going on a date with Torvi. It was finally the day for the date and Herald couldn't wait to see her that night, he was so excited and also on the edge because he couldn't tell if she liked him or not. Herald got out of work and went home, took a bath, and dressed up. He wore a black blazer, a sky blue buttoned-down shirt, and black pants. He took his car keys and drove to pick Torvi up. He got to her house at exactly 8 pm and got out of the car, went to her door, and knocked. She opened the door and there she was in a white dress, black shoes and a black purse. Herald was astonished at how beautiful she was that he was speechless.

“ Are you going to take me to your car or what?” she asked.

“ Am sorry your astonishing beauty is breathtaking” He replied as he took her toward his car.

He opens the door for her, she gets in and he turns around to get in as well. He gets in and drives

“ So where are we going, Herald?” she asked

“ just want and see you will not be disappointed I hope”

He replied as he kept driving. They got to the restaurant, it was a French restaurant Herald got out to open the door for Torvi and they both entered He went to the front desk and asked for his reservation.

“ Reservation for Herald,” he says

A waiter comes and leads them to their table, Herald pulls out a chair for her and she sits and then takes his seat. The waiter lights the candle on their table and then takes a bottle of wine and pours it in their glasses, while another waiter comes and puts a small bread basket full of Croissant on the table. The waiter who poured the wine asked for what they would like to eat,

Torvi asked for Poulet farnèse (A Roasted chicken with Hazelnut sauces) While Herald requested for soufflé au poulet ( A classic meat souffle made with a creamy chicken mixture that is smothered in whipped egg whites, and then baked until nicely colored and puffed up).

“Right away,” the waiter said as he went to get the food.

Toriv take a croissants cuts it open and asks

“Are you going to answer my question or are you going to keep staring at me?” she said while spreading butter on her pastry.

“Straight, to the point I see” he replied as he smiled and sipped his wine.

He continues has said “

I wasn't always a chef. I used to do something else” during this conversation the waiter brought their food.

“Thank you,” both said as they received it.

Toriv to her utensils, and began to eat,

“Hmmm the food here is really good,” she said,

“So what did you do be for before,” Toriv asked

Herald responds

“I was a special agent for the U.S. Secret Service”.

Toriv looks in shock

“interesting,” she said “How did you get in,” she asked while eating.

“ I was originally in the Marines before I was specially requested for the agency, so I gladly joined,” He replied.

“Enough about me let's talk about, I am super intrigued by you,” he says and he looks into her eyes while eating

She smiled and replies

“ what intrigue you about me MR Herald”

“ How an elegant lady could fight like that,” he says

“ who do you do” he continues

“Well I am a marketing agent for a real estate company, we buy home change the and sell them” she responded

Herald asked in shock,

“How then do you know how to fight like that”

“While I was young I got bullied a lot in school because of the color of my hair, so as I grew up my dad who was kickboxing coach taught me how to defend myself” she replies as she looks kinda said

“Hey hey hey, it's your hair and your eyes that astonish me about you,” he says as he holds her hand and looks into her eyes. She was so happy to hear those words coming from him, she also gazed into his eyes as his head came closer and hers from across the table….
