The first contact of the whip stung like hell. The next one too. And the next one. I didn't scream. I will not give her the satisfaction. I could see the blood splattered on the floor. My blood.  Another lash and I could only manage a groan. It was painful. It was hell. But I did my best not to lose consciousness. I could see the guards looking in the other direction. And Sylvia still stood there, unmoving. I managed to give her a smirk but quickly disappeared as the Captain delivered the last whip.  My knees were trembling and I could barely stand.
