Jace I stood outside, my hands pocketed in my trousers as I watched Sage pull out of the driveway with my reckless stepsister in the passenger seat. She looked all bright-eyed, like she was in the presence of a damn angel. I knew that look. I once saw him that way too—before I learned better. Sage had this ability that helped him show whatever attractive attribute about himself whenever only to switch when you least expect it.
