As much as I don’t want to admit it, I ended up watching Gareth the entire trip. But he acted normally—or at least how I thought Gareth 2.0 should act. I watched his every move, and even how his pack acted towards him. He seemed less reserved, and was even noisier than how the version of him in my world behaved. None of his friends seemed to think he was acting weird, that it made me doubt my hunch. Maybe, I thought, he really was just having an off day in practice before.
