I was getting more and more used to sneaking in the dark, I realized as I easily managed to find my way to around the side of the house where Gareth's window was. The light was still turned on, I picked up small rocks without hesitation and started throwing. After only three successful ones, I saw Gareth open his window with a frown. I was able to quickly make a small flame that made him glance in my direction, surprising even myself how much easier it was compared to the first time I attempted to do so. As soon as he saw me, his furrowed eyebrows relaxed and a smile appeared on his lips. This scene, I thought, felt really familiar.
