''This is not happening. It's not possible right?'' I murmured.

Everywhere was dead quiet now with most of the staff already retiring for the night. Now, I could think about what she had just read. It was a whole lot, a whole freaking lot and I was finding it difficult to wrap my head around what I had just read.

This was too much for one person to bear and I desperately wished there was someone I could tell. I needed someone I could talk to but the only person that kept coming to my head was Danielle. I wasn't sure if i could trust her with this information but judging that i didn't have anyone, she was the only one i could confide in.

''Oh my gosh! Did i just make a mistake?'' I murmured.

There were many thoughts going through my mind as my mind flashed back to what I had read. I couldn't deny the fact that I was scared. I was scared shitless of what might happen to me if I didn't take immediate action.

Just then, an idea popped up in my head and I decided to try it. After all, what danger could come near me just because of one book.

I decided to take the book back to my room. There, I would be able to read it in peace without the fear of anyone walking in on me. Also, I would be able to digest more of the words and know the next steps I could take in saving myself because at that moment, I didn't trust anyone around me.

Rising to my feet, I grabbed the book, hiding it within the folds of my nightgown before walking out of the library. I knew I had to be extremely careful, anything could happen and even though I was Luna and had immunity, deep down, I knew that there were still some things I wasn't totally free from.

I got to the doors of the library, looking left then right before stepping out. As of now, the road was clear but it might not be the same in a few minutes. s**t could hit the roof without prior notice.

Walking like a cat, I moved like the wind, silent and quiet. Everywhere was dead silent and the only noise I could hear was the hooting of birds in the distance.

''What are you doing?''

I gave a short scream, startled to my toes. I didn't need to turn to know who had spoken. Remus just knew when to show up and the places to show up at. How he did it was something I didn't know.

''Slyvia, what are you doing?'' he asked, this time much closer.

It had taken him all of three seconds to get to where I stood. It was amazing as well as crazy and this petrified me because I didn't know what he would do when he discovered I was hiding something that belonged to the library.

''Look at me.'' he said with authority.

Out of fear rather than obedience, I turned to look at him. Even my bratty attitude failed to help her in this situation. I didn't want to be seen as a thief and I wouldn't put it past Remus not to tell people that was what I was.

''Now what?'' I asked.

My brattiness was coming back bit by bit and I knew I had to hold on to it, that was the only thing I could use to defend myself from his incoming accusation.

''What are you hiding?'' he asked.

How on earth did he know I was hiding something? Was this man a wizard I didn't know about? The way he spoke was very scary and made me uncomfortable. I needed to do something and fast before he found out what I was hiding. That would be the biggest disgrace ever and I didn't think I was ready for that.

''Nothing.'' I said.

I loved the way I said it with full conviction. If it were to be a human, I knew he would have believed me immediately but that didn't apply to Remus. For one, he was a werewolf and secondly, he was always so persistent especially when he wanted to find out the truth about something.

''You are lying.'' he said, walking much closer to me.

Now that he was very close, I got to see what beauty this man possesses and trust me when I say he's a Greek god. His face was chiseled like it was actually molded with the finest materials one could find. It was a mystery how one man could be this gorgeous, I didn't understand it at all.

His eyes which I just noticed were hazel in color and as he stared at me, I got lost in its beauty. There was no freaking way i could walk away from this well except if he told me to go which i would even find so hard to do.

''What are you looking at?'' he asked.

''Your eyes. You have beautiful eyes.'' I whispered.

Immediately I said that, I shut my mouth. I didn't know when i said that and i had a feeling that he must have hypnotized me to say that. That was the only way he must have gotten me say it.

''What?'' he said.

''Forget what I said. That was a mistake.'' I said, quickly.

''So what are you doing snooping around the house,'' he said.

I realized that he wasn't going to let me off easily and I knew that I had to come up with something so easily or else, I knew I would suffer for it.

''I was just checking out the house to see what i could find… you know, as the new Luna i have to get acquainted with my surroundings.'' I said, lamely.

I knew he didn't buy it at all, judging by the way he stared at me. I knew he was just being patient. The Remus I knew would have flared up immediately but him being here without saying anything offensive was a major breakthrough I couldn't understand.

''I saw and did you discover anything that caught your fancy?'' he asked.

I didn't know if he was being serious or messing around with me because Remus never showed any emotions at all which was very annoying to say the least.

''I did… i mean, i did not.'' I backtracked.

What was wrong with me? I wasn't usually like this. The only thing I could think of that could make me act this way was his eyes. It had to be his eyes, that was the only thing that made sense and in that moment, I had to try as much as possible not to look at his eyes.

''What are you saying, Slyvia?'' he asked.

I didn't know what I was saying to myself. Everything was so confusing to me and I knew he was also very confused. I could be very confusing at times, he just had to get used to it.

''I mean… i didn't discover anything.'' I said, finally.

I knew he didn't believe what I said with the way he looked at me like I had finally lost it. Thinking about it now, I wondered what he was still doing. He was usually asleep by this time or was he really?

I knew he was the Alpha and all and had to take care of the pack even in this ungodly hour but still, it was very strange to see him awake.

''What are you doing up?'' I asked.

Since he asked me, it was best I asked him too. I wanted to make it even without him thinking that he had this all under control. Instead of giving me a direct answer, he laughed, still looking at me like I had totally lost it.

''Slyvia, last time i checked, i'm the Alpha of this pack and i can stay up late for as long as i like.'' he said.

He had a point and at this moment, i just felt stupid for asking him that question. This was his house, his pack and i really had no idea why i was asking him that question. I felt like an i***t at that moment but all I could do now was pretend that everything was cool.

''You have a point… anyway, I would be on my way to my chambers. Nice talking to you.'' I said, walking away hurriedly.

''Wait!'' he said with full command.

''Now what?'' I groaned.

I really didn't know what he wanted again. I had already answered all of his questions. Can he leave me the f**k alone now.

''Look at me.'' he said for the second time that night.

Was he never tired of commanding people all day long? It was getting annoying and somebody needed to tell him that he shouldn't boss people all around anymore.

''What?!'' I snapped.

''Is that how you talk to your husband and your Alpha?'' he snapped.

I rolled my eyes because I knew he hated that. My goal that night or morning whatever it was was to rile him up as much as I could. I wanted to see his limit, his breaking point. I wanted to know what pissed him off, wanted to know what made him tick.

''Last time I checked, you have never behaved like my husband. So why on earth are you referring to that now?'' I asked.

For the first time that night, I saw a flicker of emotion run through his eyes other than rage and anger. It was something akin to curiosity. Was he really curious now? Did he want to pretend that he didn't know what he had been doing? How he had been treating me?

''Oh really? Don't tell me you are surprised. Well, Remus, if no one tells you, I would. You aren't fit to be called my husband. You have treated me very badly and i hate to say this but i dislike you.'' I said.

There, I said it. Now that it was out of my head, I could be at peace with myself. I didn't care what he did with the information I told him.

''Really? Is that what you think about me?'' he asked.

There was a sickening smile on his face which angered me further. I wanted to get this over with but his irrational behavior was bothersome.

''Of course, what did you think?'' I asked.

''Anyway, to cut this story short, I wanted to talk to you about something that's very important.'' he said.

That alone set alarm bells ringing in my ears. I didn't know what it was he wanted to talk to me about but I was prepared to listen to what he had to say and take necessary actions if need be.

''What is the matter?'' I asked.

''Concerning what you said about me not being a husband to you, I want us to drop all of that when we go out together.'' he said.

I knew what he meant but I didn't know why he looked so serious about it. It didn't make any sense to me at all.

''So in essence, what you're trying to say now is that you want us to act as a couple outside but when we get back home, we're dropping all pretense?'' I asked.

''Yes Slyvia, I want us to do that,'' he said.

''Fine, that works for me.'' I said, walking away.

I was done talking to him. I needed to sleep because truth be told, I had a feeling that we would have our first outing as couples together the following day and in that moment, I needed to get all the rest I needed.

Tomorrow was going to be a very busy day for her and she didn't want to mess it up.

''Aren't you going to ask me where we're going? You're just going to leave like that?'' he called.

I didn't care, shutting his response up. I had enough of him already. Now, all I had to wait for was whatever trip we were going for the following day.
