Chapter 11
Remus
''Why do all Lunas have to be stubborn?'' I sighed as I made my way back to my room.
My mother was stubborn and the stories i heard from my dad also pointed out to the fact that his mother had also been very stubborn. It just seemed like all the Lunas were following a pattern which was something I found surprising.
''i just have to bare it all.'' I sighed.
I made my way back to my room, my father's words ringing in my ears. I couldn't afford for what he told me to leak out. I didn't know his aim for doing that but whatever it was, I had a feeling that it was important.
The next morning arrived without any fanfare and soon, I was ready to go out. This was going to be our first official outing as couples and we couldn't afford to mess it up. That would make people realize that we were actually faking all of this which was something I was trying to avoid.
I made my way out of the room and towards the dining table where I knew breakfast was served. On normal days, I didn't care much about early morning food but I knew my wolf wouldn't allow it and besides, from the looks of it, I realized that we might actually stay longer outside and the last thing I wanted was for Slyvia to faint.
''Good morning sire.'' a maid said.
All I could do was nod as I sat down to eat. They had my favorite food on the menu and lord knows I would never skip any meal that was my favorite.
''Thank you.'' I smiled.
A few minutes later, Slyvia walked in and in that moment, I had to take a moment to appreciate how beautiful she was. The silver gown she wore was mesmerizing and with each step she took, it seemed to shimmer under the beautiful chandelier light.
''Good morning.'' I said, politely.
''Morning.'' she said.
One of the servants served her food and when he was done, she smiled at him. That was the most sincere smile I had ever seen her give to anyone. It was beautiful and all shades of pretty. Deep down, I wished someone would smile at me like that but that was just like wishing for a unicorn.
''Did you sleep well?'' I asked.
It wouldn't be nice if I just continued eating without asking her anything. My parents didn't teach me that and I sure as hell wouldn't stop doing that.
She remained silent, pretending like he didn't talk which was getting annoying. The only time she spoke was when she wanted to address the servants.
''You know, if we're to make this work you have to answer me. If you continue to do what you're doing now, people will notice and you know that's not going to be good.'' I said.
Even from where I sat, I heard her loud sigh. She was as tired as I was , which was somewhat strange because I didn't expect her to be thinking.
''It's just so hard to talk to you when you've proven to be a douchebag.'' she said.
I swallowed that insult because the last thing I wanted was for us to get into an argument. This was our first outing and I didn't want anything to ruin it. I knew she was rooting for an argument, looking for one even and I knew I couldn't give her the satisfaction of knowing that she riled me up.
''Is that all?'' I asked.
She looked at me like i had lost my mind and i couldn't blame her because this new attitude i was portraying was somewhat odd even for me.
''Yes. Can we go now?'' she said.
''Of course. Just remember what we discussed yesterday night. Put everything into action and we'll be alright.'' I said.
She rolled her eyes before walking out of the dining hall. I followed quickly, making sure to keep close to her to maintain that we were in love.
''Wrap your hands around me.'' I whispered just as we got outside.
''Why?'' she snapped.
''You'll see.'' I smirked.
As if on cue, hundreds of reporters began screaming our names with their cameras flashing like bees who just got disturbed. From the look on Slyvia's face, I could tell she wasn't used to any of this. She didn't know it but she wrapped her hands around mine even tighter than i anticipated which i loved.
It gave me a sense of pride, knowing that she couldn't do anything without me. This was how I wanted her to feel but deep down, I had a feeling that after this, I might suffer for it.
''Oh my gosh! Why are they so many?'' she said.
''Welcome to my world baby girl.'' I smiled.
We paused for a bit to smile for the camera even as she tried to put on a smile that was all shades of fake.
''Gosh! I hate this.'' she sighed.
''You just have to deal with this darling.'' I said.
Soon, we were done with all of the photos. I led Slyvia to the car, waving to the camera men who wanted to take more and more pictures of us but thanks to my security team, they were able to stop the onslaught of men who wanted to mob us. Without them, I really don't know what I would have done.
''Is this what you go through everyday?'' she asked, surprise written all over her face.
''Sadly, yes.'' I sighed.
''Typical. I'm sure you enjoy every bit of it.'' she said.
She was trying to pick up a fight but the last thing I would do was to give her that satisfaction of knowing that I was actually offended.
''Please drop it.'' I said.
She laughed, looking out of the window. The drivers who were demarcated by the barricade and couldn't hear us continued driving. Even if they heard what Slyvia said, I knew they wouldn't say anything because it wasn't their place to utter a word.
''So where are we going?'' she asked.
''I'm taking you to one of my companies. I want to introduce you to my board of directors. Slyvia, you wouldn't only be the Luna, but you'll also be able to take part in the decision making process of the company.'' I said.
I wanted to prepare her mind for what she would be doing and I wanted her to know that. From the look on her face, I could tell that she wasn't prepared.
''Baby girl, you better buckle up.'' I laughed.
