Chapter 12
Slyvia got back to her room, a tired mess. She had been out running with Angela, her wolf who was insatiable especially when it came to exercise. Sometimes, Slyvia couldn't keep up with her and simply hoped that the big wolf would get tired easily and just give up but she knew that was like wishing for a unicorn. It was impossible.
The only time the big wolf would resist running was if she was sick and too weak to do anything. Luckily for Slyvia, her friend was in which just made her glad because finally, there would be someone she could talk to.
The outing she had with Remus the previous day was a bit too awkward, considering the fact that they had never acted like a couple before and acting it up for the whole world to see was awkward.
"Hey babe." Danielle said.
Danielle was a redhead, her hair usually shone in the morning light whenever she went out for a run. The only time the redhead went for a run was if Slyvia agreed to go with her. If not, she would remain in her room, she was as lazy as anything but she provided the best gist so Slyvia stuck with her.
"Hey darling, how are you?" Slyvia smiled.
Its been a while she actually saw her, Danielle had her own stuffs to deal with, something that she hadn't told Slyvia yet. Slyvia had no idea what it was but she knew sooner or later, Danielle would give in
Slyvia dumped her bag on her bed, slumping on it with a tired sigh. Danielle chuckled, tying her hair in a loose ponytail. Slyvia closed her eyes, silently conversing with her wolf.
"What?" Danielle asked.
"What? oh no, I'm not talking to you, its to Angela. Sorry." Slyvia chuckled.
"Okay, because it seemed like you were talking to me." Danielle chuckled.
"What happened? I didn't see you throughout today?'" Slyvia said.
Sylvia tied her hair in a neat bun, shedding off her clothes as she made her way towards the bathroom for a cool bath. She needed to get the smell of sweat and wolf hair off her body. She knew Danielle wouldn't be able to catch the scent because unlike the other wolves, her senses were dead to the werewolves scent. The fates had made it like that and Slyvia was glad it was so. Sometimes, Danielle was just too nosey.
"Well, I had other things to take care of." Danielle said with a look of mischief in her eyes.
Slyvia didn't need to think about it twice. Danielle had probably gone to her boyfriend's house and did some things Slyvia didn't even want to think about. She was like that and she had come to live with it.
"Who is it this time? Kevin or Tom?" Slyvia chuckled from the bathroom.
She sighed in bliss as the icy cold water hit her head. Danielle had a retinue of men who was ready to do anything at the snap of her fingers. She had seen first hand how the girl controlled men like they were toys.
"None of them." Danielle grinned.
The gum she was chewing popped loudly in Slyvia's ears. She was irritated by it and was on the verge of lashing out but she knew she had to control her anger lest she utters something she isn't meant to say.
Danielle could be a spoil sport but she wasn't stupid. She could easily pick up something that was odd and Slyvia wasn't in the mood to begin explaining what she was. It was best for all of them if she remained how she was.
"So who this time?"Slyvia asked, drying herself.
"Take a guess." Danielle chuckled.
"You know I'm really bad at guessing." Slyvia laughed.
"Aww you're no fun. Just guess." Danielle said.
"No idea." Slyvia said, stepping into the room.
"Well it's Derrick." Danielle said.
Upon hearing that name, Slyvia stopped in her tracks. She knew that name quite alright. In fact, there was no one in the entire pack that didn't know that name. Derrick Henshaw was the pack's resident fine boy and a big player. He changed girls like he changes his boxers which was on a regular basis. Slyvia didn't know what Danielle saw in him but whatever it was, it wouldn't last, that she was sure of.
Angela scoffed within her and Slyvia shut her up. The wolf could be really loud at times, giving her away and this was something she didn't want happening. Slyvia stared at Danielle like she had grown two heads.
''I thought you liked Bret?'' Slyvia asked.
''Well, i do but Derrick would be my play thing for now.'' Danielle laughed.
''Seriously?'' Slyvia sighed.
"What? I like him and trust me, the s*x is great." Danielle chuckled.
"Danielle! Are you really sure about this? You're my friend and i really don't want you to end up a sad broken mess. So are you really sure about this?" Slyvia asked.
She shrugged her pyjamas on, sitting on her bed as she watched Danielle's eyes take on a slight hint of worry. Slyvia already knew what was on her mind since she had the ability to read people's minds. It was a perk she loved, it made her know what they were thinking which had helped her in more ways she could count.
"Yes Slyvia, I'm sure. I know you're worried about me and stuffs but you have no reason to. I'm completely fine with Derrick. Now, shall i gist you on what we did today." Danielle grinned.
Slyvia quickly declined. She wasn't cut out for all the things Danielle and her boyfriend did. She chuckled when she saw the look of hurt on her face. They talked about some other things before Danielle left the room, no doubt heading towards Derrick's flat outside the mansion.
"Be careful." Slyvia called out.
It was late though because Danielle was already half way downstairs. Slyvia shut the door behind her as she created a mind link with Bret who had gone to the outskirts of town. Bret was the only other person who was just like Slyvia but where Slyvia had all three entities, Bret had one which was his wolf powers.
"Hey buddy. how are you?" Slyvia said into the air.
Angela purred within her, ready to sleep and call it a day. Slyvia knew it was expected being that she had done a lot of running that day. The she-wolf slept soundly and soon, Slyvia was left alone to talk to her friend.
"Darling, I'm afraid I'm not so good." Bret said.
Slyvia could hear several clicks from Bret's keyboard which just told her that Bret was hard at work. Slyvia tried breaching into his mind to see what she could find but there was nothing. Unlike the other wolves, it wasn't so easy for her to breach into Bret's mind. He was a werewolf just like her and it wasn't as easy as the other weaker wolves.
"What's wrong?" Slyvia asked.
"Martins, the greatest enemy of this pack just struck." Bret said.
