Chapter 13 Slyvia The news I got from Bret was not only disturbing but upsetting. Martins had been the wolves pack enemy for as long as I can remember. He was a sorcerer, a paranormal who had no regard for anyone and seeing that he just struck made alarm bells ring in my ear. None of my friends knew it but Martins was behind my parents death. The memories of that night came to me in brief spurts. I shielded my timid mind from that heartache. If I had the power to forget about everything that had happened, i would in a minute but it wasn't in my power to do so. Being a paranormal has blessed me with immense powers but I'm afraid, forgetting awful memories isn't one of them. If it was possible, i would gladly trade one of my powers for that. Several nights, I've been kept awake as a result of the nightmares i face on a daily basis. To say it was getting worse would be an understatement, it was downright worse. It was now a constant reminder of my past and the pain associated with it. I mind linked Bret again, i needed to know what the situation on ground was and if Remus already knew about it. If it required me to come to base, i needed to know and be there on time. There was no telling what the demon would do and if he wanted to strike again. He had drawn the first blood and i bloody knew that he would be coming a second time. Martins love for violence was insatiable and there was no doubt he would make an appearance sooner or later. "Hi Bret, what's up? How's the situation now?" i asked. I was getting frantic by the second as a result of not knowing what was happening. I needed to be on track of things, needed to be in control which was something that had always been with me for as long as i could remember. It was only a few days ago i rescinded hold over my base due to my marriage to Remus. Bret was now heading the base as the second in command to Remus and he was doing a great job so far. "Hey Slyvia, we're handling it. There's no cause for alarm, everything would be sorted out soon." Bret said. "Are you sure? I can come over to help " i sighed. I wasn't doing anything at the moment. Danielle had gone out and i was alone in the room. I was restless, i needed something to do to ease the burning ache in my chest. I wasn't going to have outings till the following day and it would just be one, nothing more. "Trust me Slyvia, we've got it all covered. You've worked so hard here in the past few years and so, it's your time to rest." Bret chuckled. "That I agree on. Okay buddy, I'll take your advice and relax but if something unusual occurs, don't hesitate to inform me okay?" i said. "Okay baby. See ya.'' Bret said, closing the mind link. I sighed, walking towards the window that overlooked the city. It was a busy Thursday night and everywhere i looked, lights and car horns filled the surroundings. I sighed, wishing i could go out and party just like them. Just then, a thought came to my mind. Why can't i party and have fun like them? I shouldn't just be in my room, a sad miserable mess and wondering what i did to offend Remus for him to treat me that way. Angela agreed with me, judging by the happy growl she let out. She pranced inside me, urging me to go and be free. Its been long i got laid and even on my wedding night, when i expected Remus to seal the marriage rites, he didn't. I knew now was the time to have some fun and there was no stopping me. Unknown Slyvia left her mansion soon and how she was able to escape without being seen was a major miracle, she gussed she was just lucky this time. She headed towards the city center, singing under her breath. She was dressed in skin tight leggings over a loose top that made her breast bigger than they appeared. That was the aim and she was going to employ it to the fullest. She stopped a taxi, jumping in with much agility she never knew she possessed. The cab driver flashed a smile upon seeing the beautiful lady who had just boarded his vehicle. Angela growled within her, wanting to scratch the man's eyes out. Slyvia chuckled, sniffing the air lightly and she discovered the man was a human, he wasn't a threat so Angela needed to calm down. "Calm down Angela." Slyvia chuckled. The wolf stayed calm when she was satisfied that the man wasn't a threat. Slyvia knew that she wouldn't hesitate to gorge the man's eyes out if the situation presented itself. Angela was loyal and very overprotective of her master and there was nothing she wouldn't do to ensure she was safe. "Where to miss?'' the driver said, smiling like a banshee. "The downtown club." Slyvia said. "Right away." he said, flashing her a megawatt smile that would leave most girls soaking in their pants. The drive towards the club was without fanfare. The driver tried to make small talks but Slyvia wasn't having it. She just wanted to get to where she was going without any trouble. "So you're from around here?" the driver asked. "Yes." Slyvia said vaguely. If he truly knew where she was from, he would leave his cab and run far away from her. Slyvia chuckled, looking out of the window as various people went about their daily lives. "You're very beautiful i must confess. " he smiled, looking at her through the rear view mirror. "Thank you." Slyvia smiled. "You're welcome darling. I'm sure you've heard that a lot of times so it can't be anything new." he chuckled. Slyvia scoffed, giving him a small smile. Humans were so easy to deceive. They easily believed anything they saw was real and authentic. Most times, Slyvia wondered what her life would have been like if she was born a full fledged human, no doubt she wouldn't feel anything and wouldn't even realize that paranormals were a thing. "We're here gorgeous." the driver grinned. Slyvia smiled, handing him a wad of cash. She knew it was much more than his fare but she just wanted to compensate him for making an effort to flirt with her, he deserved that at least. "Wow, thank you so much. I hope our paths cross again, maybe then i can get to marry you." he grinned. Slyvia smiled, climbing out of the cab. The driver horned once then twice before zooming off. Slyvia chuckled, heading towards the entrance of the club that was blasting with music. She sighed in bliss because this was what she needed. It was time to get laid. *********************** Slyvia moved her body to the fast beat of the song blasting from the loud speakers of the club. This was what she needed, this drive and energy that was associated with socializing with people. She was easily the most beautiful woman in the club. Several men tried dancing with her but Slyvia fended them off because Angela didn't agree with them and secondly, she didn't forget the fact that she was married. Her wolf could sense behaviors faster and swifter than Slyvia and it was evident in the fact that the ancient wolf always kept her safe. Slyvia's body was slicked with sweat as a result of all the twisting and turning she had done. "Hey baby." a voice said. Slyvia looked towards the direction of the voice and discovered it was a man, a very handsome man at that. His jet black hair shone even in the dim lights of the club. He grabbed Slyvia's waist, drawing her closer to his chest. Slyvia sniffed his scent and discovered that he was indeed human. It was easier to deal with them than men of her kind. They could easily forget all about her when the deed was done. Angela chuckled within her and Slyvia knew she had accepted this man. Slyvia smiled, touching the man's chest lightly. He was strong, that much he knew and there was no telling the naughty things he would do in the privacy of the club's guesthouse. "Hi." Slyvia smiled. The man flashed her a megawatt smile that could grace the cover of the GQ magazine. Slyvia's legs turned to puddles, she had never seen a human who intrigued her as much as this strange man did. "I've been watching you from a distance and i must say, you're a very beautiful lady." he smiled. "Why thank you. You're not pretty bad yourself." Slyvia chuckled. Angela shook her head, growling in laughter. The man stared at her briefly before placing his lips on her's. Slyvia was tempted to move away but she perished that thought. After all, there was only one life to live especially for the humans. As for her, she could decide to live different lives, coming back in different bodies if she so desired. When they broke away, the music had just reached a steady crescendo. "Wanna go to the guesthouse?" he said. His eyes took on a promise of fun that was to come and Slyvia was ready for it. She came to the club for one major aim and that was to get laid and that exactly is what she would do. Slyvia wrapped her hands around the man's neck, pushing him closer for another kiss. She didn't know the man's name but she wasn't bothered by that because it would be easier to forget about him than her knowing his name. "I'll love to be your guest " Slyvia giggled. The man roared with laughter, leading her towards the direction of the set of rooms that were at the topmost floors of the club. Just as they took the bend leading to the rooms, Slyvia saw her worst nightmare in human form. Remus. She tried to backtrack as fast as she could but it was too late. Remus had already seen her and there was no hiding. Now, she would just have to explain what she was doing outside of the mansion, what she was doing in a club and last but not the least and definitely the worse, what she was doing in the company of a man that wasn't her mate and husband. The situation she found herself in in that moment was the shittiest she had ever been and she knew there was no amount of begging that would free her from Remus wrath. She might as well say her final prayers before she died. ''Slyvia.'' Remus said with a calm voice. She could even see a hint of a smile on his face which was so not good. A calm Remus was an angry one, a mad wolf that could bring the whole country down. This was getting worse by the minute and worse of it all was that there was no chance of her escaping. ''I… i.'' Slyvia stammered. ''Who the hell are you man? Get out of the way.'' her companion said. Remus chuckled, walking slowly towards them. Out of a protective instinct, Slyvia stood in front of him because she knew what Remus could do to him. ''Go, please go. Trust me, you don't want to be here.'' Slyvia begged. The man looked at her like she had finally lost it but at the end, he left. Now that he was gone, Slyvia could face her mate squarely. ''I see you wanted to partake in something that's wrong. In fact, its a taboo, an abomination. Do you have any idea on what you were just about to do?'' Remus asked. Now, he was angry and it was evident in the mad look in his eyes. In that moment, he could actually kill her and nothing would happen because he was the Alpha, king and leader of the pack. ''You never care about me so why are you bothered now?'' Slyvia asked. She didn't know where she got the boldness from. Angela who had encouraged her suddenly grew quiet and Slyvia realized that she was scared. If her wolf was scared, it could only mean that this was damn serious. ''Do you have any idea what your presence here means to me. Do you know my name could be stained?'' Remus asked, visibly angry. ''Yeah right, its always about your name and the packs reputation.'' Slyvia hissed. Remus stayed quiet, looking at the woman he had married. Slyvia stared at him too and just as she was about to talk, everything suddenly went black. The last thing she saw before she gave in to the darkness was Remus' men, surrounding her.
