While I waited inside my chamber, I listened to the sound of grunts and whimpers that I heard from where I stood close to the door.
I thought that the thudding sound was going to stop, but it continued for a very long time before I eventually heard silence.
When I decided that I was going to come out of the room to see what was going on, the guard Darius sent to keep me safe refused to let me out.
“I am sorry, Luna Alara. The King instructed that I make sure that you remain here.” He said, bending his face just in case I felt disrespected by what he said.
I sighed and nodded. But even though I had decided that I was going to remain where I was, it was hard for me not to remain worried.
