DARIUS’ POV
The guards were so relieved that they sighed heavily while peeking from behind to be sure that Sierra was truly gone.
I didn’t blame them totally even though I was a bit disappointed in them. But I was certain that their lives must have flashed right in front of them.
Alara turned to face me. “I am not letting anyone take you away from me, not even Sierra.” She was firm with her utterance, and it made me smile.
I thought I was the one who was supposed to be doing the protecting, but it turned out that Alara had a lot of things up her sleeve.
“If she killed one of them, it means that she ha committed an offence.” Alara said, and we quickly went to check the guard outside the castle along with the two others.
We found him still alive, but unconscious.
