All the elders in the hall turned to Stephon at once, but it didn’t look like any of them was ready to admit to the crime.
“Maybe whoever it is should save us the stress and confess,” Darius said, and after he paused for a while, he continued. “We don’t have to spend the whole day here.” He looked at the elders one after the other, but they all looked like they were innocent, like none of them had ever committed a crime in his life.
I thought Stephon was going to be looking at one of them, probably the culprit, but he had his eyes on the ground.
It was a bit disappointing to see that he was looking down, but I knew that the truth was going to be out in a matter of time.
