Ellie Hilton took a deep breath, quickly trying to calm herself. She was not in the mood for her normal morning routine. She had a schedule. "Harper if you don't get out right now, I'll snapchat this entire conversation." She growled pounding a fist against the bathroom door.
Of course Harper didn't respond.
Instead the hair dryer turned on. Ellie turned swiftly on her heels and headed for the downstairs bathroom. She simply needed a shower.
She nearly ran into Quinn on the stairs. "Is the bathroom available?" Quinn asked, pushing her messy blonde hair out of her face. Ellie quickly shook her head and headed back to the room she shared with Harper. It seemed as if both of the bathrooms were occupied.
"It's not fair." Quinn complained, following her sister and sitting on Harper's bed. "If they would just let us go first we wouldn't bug them so much."
Ellie sighed. "Maybe we should just learn from Maya."
Maya Hilton had learned to wake up extra early to shower and style her hair. Living in a house with five teenage girls had proved very difficult for everyone involved.
"I'm not waking up at five thirty." Quinn argued, pulling the glasses she wore to look smart off of her face. "Wanna sneak into mom's?"
Ellie laughed at the idea. "And what? Shower together?"
Quinn shrugged. "We've done it before. It's not like I haven't seen your anatomy."
"Well this is awkward." Harper spoke from the doorway. Her hair was curled down her back and she clutched a towel around her body. She sent them a tight lipped smile. "Get off of my bed Quinn."
Quinn and Ellie quickly scrambled for the door, in a race for the bathroom. Ellie reached it a moment before Quinn and quickly slammed the door in her sister's face. Ignoring the pounding on the door, she quickly removed her clothes and jumped into the shower.
Seventeen minutes later she was dressed in light blue jeans and a grey t-shirt. Her hair was neatly brushed into a high ponytail, and her face was scrubbed clean besides a light application of eyeliner and mascara. She quickly applied a layer of chapstick before opening the door.
Quinn pushed her out of the way within seconds and slammed the door at her back. With a chuckle Ellie headed to the kitchen for a quick breakfast.
"Ahh, the pretty one has arrived."
Ellie simply rolled her eyes. Hayes Thomson was a family friend who had a habit of flirting with her. He actually flirted with all of the sisters in his own little way. "Get a life Hayes." She replied, grabbing a poptart out of the cupboard.
Hayes chuckled. "Why must you continue to break my heart?" He asked, placing a hand on his chest.
Ellie didn't respond. Instead she walked out of the door and headed to school.
The Hilton house was located exactly three minutes away from SaddleBrooke High School. And the Hilton Quints were very popular.
First there was Harper, the oldest, by six minutes. She was blonde and pretty and very outgoing. The whole school loved her.
Next there was Casey, who wanted to be an actress. She dyed her hair a bright red and participated in every play the highschool put on.
Then there was Quinn, who wanted to be the world's smartest scientist. She was full of confidence.
After Quinn was Maya, the athlete of the family. Everybody at SB said that she was the prettiest of the quints. However she dressed like a guy and didn't really date.
Ellie was the youngest.
If you asked Ellie, she'd tell you that she was the most boring Quint. She didn't really have anything going for herself. She liked to read, but she wasn't super smart. She was okay at basketball, but she'd never make the team. She had the voice of an angel, but so did all of her sisters, and she wasn't outgoing. She was just Ellie.
As she entered the highschool she headed straight for the library. She sometimes volunteered before class to help put the books away and she had twenty minutes to spare.
"Oh, Ellie good thing you're here." Mrs. O'Donnell said speed walking toward her. "We need to get all of these flyers put up around the school. The drama department is putting on a very big play and we want to spread the word." She explained.
Ellie inwardly groaned. She didn't want to walk around the school and put up flyers. She wanted to peacefully put away books in silence. Reluctantly she grabbed the stack of flyers out of Mrs. O'Donnell's hand. "Yes ma'am." She mumbled, grabbing the tape and heading towards the halls.
"You might want to get your sister to help." Mrs. O'Donnell yelled after her.
Ellie mumbled to herself. Of course Casey wasn't going to help. Casey was probably still in the bathroom touching up her roots. She was so over dramatic.
"Hey, where's your sister?"
Ellie stopped in her tracks, checked her attitude and slowly spun around. Josh Odell leaned against the wall with his hand nursing a bag of skittles. He sent Ellie a smirk when she frowned at him.
"Am I my sister's keeper?" She asked.
"I suppose not." He replied following her as she continued her walk down the wall. "I just figured you'd know where she was."
"Well I don't." She said sending him a scowl. None of the quints liked Josh, well except for Harper. But Harper was dating the guy so she didn't really count.
"Do you need help?" He asked, holding a hand out for the flyers. Ellie simply shook her head. She didn't make a habit of talking to Josh Odell. She didn't make a habit of talking to anyone.
"Josh, why don't you go look under some cheerleader's skirt?" This insult came from Maya who immediately grabbed Ellie by the arm dragging her down the hall. "I need your help with something." She whispered.
Ellie turned to see if Josh was following them and saw him staring at Maya. She frowned, she really didn't like Josh. "One of these days Harper is going to find some common sense and drop him." She mumbled to her sister.
Maya shrugged. "It's her life. Personally I think she only dates him because he's popular. You know she can't mess up her reputation."
Ellie groaned as Maya led them towards the football field. "What exactly did you need my help with?"
Maya laughed, "Calm down. You won't have to run or anything. I just need you to hold this." She placed a small camera in Ellie's palm. "Get a good shot for me."
Ellie didn't need any more instructions. She knew what her sister was up to. "And this just doesn't get old to you huh?" She asked sarcastically as she aimed the camera to where the football team was huddled.
Maya smirked. "It really doesn't."
