After being placed into cuffs, I was taken further towards the mountains. Marleen has been whining the entire time about losing her “toy.” Though each time she whines the other lady snarls at her, shutting her up. Perhaps this one I don’t know the name of is of higher rank? Did Queen Castian block the Lycans and us from knowing each other because she knows they are more powerful? I know she is power hungry but to do something like this? Honestly, she might be clinically insane at this point. “You think poorly of your Queen, do you not? The other lady asked. “Hmm, thinking on it, it depends but being contracted to marry her does make it easier to think poorly about her.” Speaking the words out loud seems daring but the lycan just laughs. “How did you know I was thinking about her?” I question. “Your wolf is speaking to mine, asking things about the separation of our groups.” She states. “At least he speaks to someone.” I mutter. “Has he not spoken to you lately?” She asks. “Let me guess when the contract was signed.” She quipped. Man, he must really be talking to her.”Yeah, may I know why he is discussing so much with you, but not even mutter a word to me?” I ask. “One moment.” She says. What could this mean? Truly, speaking to a stranger over your other half. “He stated that you need to understand on your own.” She spoke inquisitively. The words snap me to reality, I look at her, blankly. Lightening the mood I ask. “So, what is your name, miss scary lady?” She snort laughs. “Scary Lady?” Marleen sighs, to stifle a laugh, failing miserably. “You have been so strict this entire time, but you know Luna said to keep relaxed and make him feel welcomed!” Marleen beams. “ I do remember that.” She shifts uncomfortably. “I also know we need to get there before nightfall. As her Majesty requested.” She states. Marleen shakes her head. “To answer the question her name is Yvonne. She is so strict. Probably because she is the Beta’s wife.” Yvonne, I know that name. My grandfather used to watch a Yvonne on Thursdays. What is being kept from me? “I think I need to talk with the Luna Queen alone. She might know things that I need to know.” I say. Yvonne’s head snaps around and in a growl she says “You cannot be with Her Majesty by yourself. Safety precautions, if you need to know why.” Marleen quietly says “We’ve still got a few hours, so let’s not piss each other off. I am not bringing you dead to the Queen. That will be bad news.” At the Lycan Palace “Beta Quinn, who is in our borders?” An older woman asks. “A gentleman named Tabor, I believe, he is contracted to marry the Werewolf Queen Castian.” Quinn reports. “Thank you Beta. Send for Rueben. I have to discuss this with him.” The woman instructs. “Anytime, Your Majesty.” Quinn says bowing, then spinning on his heel and leaving the room. This room, lined with bookshelves, a few paintings, and a portrait of the Lycan royal family. The portrait reveals a woman in a green gown, down to mid-calf. A pearl necklace and reddish blonde hair done in wavy curls. Her eyes are an emerald green, lips plumper than most womens and she was nicely filled out. The look of a loving mother given fancier things. The father, a navy suit, white handkerchief, gold claspings on the wrists. Brown hair, amber eyes and a sharp, stout physique. The child, a boy about 3 years old. Green eyes with yellowish centers, a bit chubby, and reddish brown hair. “I hope this is you Tabor, baby” The woman said. On the desk, a nameplate, reading Morticia Caudwell. The Caudwell has been scratched off, and above it reads, Brookstein. The door opens, Reuben steps in. “You called for me, love?” “Yes, sweetie. I believe Tabor has entered the territory.” Morticia says, turning to face him. Reuben leans against her desk, pulling her into his arms, kissing them lightly. “You said this day would come, love. Are you nervous?” Reuben asks. “I am surprised, I thought I would be, but I feel excited.” Morticia says. Reuben chuckles. “I understand. Your baby is coming home, where he belongs. With us lycans.” Morticia’s face falls. “Do you think he will not like the fact I let his father take him? I thought it was best but then I heard of the contract. I knew the Syths would try to get at him to get at us. And-” Reuben cuts her off. “Momo, calm yourself. Do not get worked up over that. He will be here in your arms again soon. You know that.” Reuben places his hands on her face and lightly kisses her lips. He whispers “I love you honey, but god you get out of hand sometimes.” Morticia pushes him into the desk. A growl escaping her, “Really? Then let me show you.”
