Iris sobs as they stand above Mr Walter’s grave. She places a basket of beautiful yellow flowers over his grave.
“I’m sorry dad, I wish things happened differently. I learned a lot from you in the shortest time, I wish we had more time together. You made a great grandfather. Kaizen will miss you dearly.”
She wiped her eyes and went back to the car where Gabriel was waiting. She then said she wanted to go and see his mother. Her tone wasn’t asking, she was telling him. They went to the Walters mansion, Iris went straight into the house, and went up to Mrs Walter’s room. She was on her table, making some notes. Iris called her slowly like she was at the verge of breakdown. Mrs Walter got up and hugged her. She cried as she said “I’m sorry mum, I didn’t know.”
