Still a Problem pt. 3

I snorted, “Yes, but it’s probably not nothing. Egres would NOT agree to do a damn thing to a human otherwise.” Bernard agreed, “That does seem unlikely.” I should’ve brought my guard. Maybe they were here.

When Piper’s mom hugged her I saw it on her face, she remembered this moment with them. I swooped in after her stepsiblings had their moment. We went back to the hotel and swam before the girls went to get ready.

I showered then left the room for Karl to do so and snapped myself ready. I called dad. He answered, “Son.” I asked, “What did that coaching b***h do?!” Dad growled, “Well, she’s with Benjamin at the moment. Your guard will be questioning her when Benjamin comes to the concert.” My Uncle was torturing a human? Yeah, this was bad.

I asked, “What did Melanie find?” Dad sighed, “That I am firing more people. Her whole background was fake and it wasn’t checked.” I asked, “Why did she want the job?” Dad was silent then admitted, “Melanie believes it’s about Piper and possibly Remi.”

Karl snarled, “WHAT?!” I echoed him, “What Karl said.” Dad explained, “Melanie is hunting down the payment. She said it’s too big to just be from the Ninko.” I snarled, “Is this the Ring?” Dad replied, “Melanie said they would never sink so much money into something that wasn’t a sure thing.”

Karl asked, “What does this have to do with Remi?” Dad sighed, “We don’t have proof but Melanie speculates it’s going back to the Berbalang’s.” I pushed Karl outside onto the balcony as he roared in anger. Joe popped in with Remi’s family and Ralph.

Ralph demanded, “What do we have, Eric? Karl linked his family this goes back to the Berbalang’s.” Dad told him, “The good news is we are now on top of this. Melanie was investigating the incident and did something none of us thought to do.”

Karl growled, “What did she do?” It hit me, “She investigated the Berbalang group. Right, dad?” Dad confirmed, “She did. The leader had multiple siblings. Melanie has it narrowed down to two he was closest to and whose tastes are similar. The Hackura have raided their compounds that Melanie found. A lot of girls and boys have returned home today.”

Karl snarled, “THOSE FUCKERS WANT MY MATE?!” Kyle asked, “Why are they still after my granddaughter?” Dad answered, “Melanie thinks the Berbalang you took down reached out to a sibling, likely to gloat. It’s possible that said sibling has been hoping to get Remi this whole time.”

Karl whispered, “But Beckett and I go run with her in the morning now. We’ve never let that lapse despite her complaints about it.” Dad agreed, “Exactly and the girls don’t take clear routes to volleyball games. They can’t stop the whole bus because that’s too big of news.” Karl growled, “REMI IS MINE!”

Kyle said, “They won’t get my grandpup.” Dad agreed, “No, but this woman was likely a plant to feed intel to try and get them. Melanie has the woman’s computer from the hotel room. It’s coded but it’s not something this woman could’ve done, it’s Supernatural. Melanie is going to crack it after the concert.”

I surmised, “So, the Ninko is teaming up with the Berbalang’s?!” Ralph added, “And we only know because your daughter in law got pissed the analytics were being done wrong?” Dad answered, “Melanie was running checks on the coaches for the team prior to this. The rest of them checked out. Melanie hadn’t run the analytics coach yet but would’ve.”

Karl said, “I can’t go through that. Those fuckers can’t touch Remi again.” Kyle growled, “They won’t.” Dad agreed, “They won’t. A Hackura guard is shadowing each girl now.” I asked, “So, there are two guards here?”

Kyle admitted, “We can’t afford that.” Dad replied, “It’s not being charged. Piper is family and Remi is hers even if it’s not blood. We will protect both girls. The protectors of the realm don’t need a bigger reason than the Berbalang’s are kidnapping people to eat their skin. That’s pretty f****d up. Melanie got evidence that Remi is a target, therefore she’s protected until this is resolved."

We talked a bit more before Joe squeezed Karl’s shoulder then popped the rest of them out. Two guards faded in. I introduced them, “Karl this is Mauve and Jessnia.” Jessnia held her hand out, “I’ll be on Remi.” Mauve said, “I won’t let anything happen to the Duchess, Duke Preston.” I nodded.

They faded back when Piper and Remi came out. Karl and I held them tightly. I was ready to stay here, but Piper wanted to see the band. William linked me when I saw him, “We won’t let anything happen to Piper, P.”

I said, “I can’t let anything happen to either of them. Piper would be devastated if those creeps got Remi.” Julian growled, “We were with Uncle Benjamin. That b***h just got money from them and a background. I think, and Valentina agrees, based on some table the Berbalang’s gave said background to her. It’s how they are getting into schools.” I snorted, “Then they just f****d up giving us that.” William agreed, “Uncle Gunner is running the pattern and the Hackura are pulling their asses to our realm as we found them.”

Nathan McDermont linked me, “This s**t is f****d up. Those Berbalang things are freaks.” I agreed, “Yes, they are.” Nathan replied, “They are syncing with a man going for my stepdaughter.” I agreed, “Yes, and they will pay for that. He’s better at hiding than they are, but I bet they’ve seen him. They can give us a better description.” Nathan nodded.

The concert was good. Piper pointed out that Melanie was MIA. I linked Alexander, “Where the f**k did your mate go?” Alexander growled, “I DON’T f*****g KNOW, OK?! She’s with H’s mate.” I replied, “Well, K’s a Dragon so maybe they are burning something down. I’m no longer worried.” Alexander huffed back at me.

Bernard growled, “Claim mate.” We needed to after hearing the coach was actually bad. My mind wondered what had been sent. I linked CJ, “Tell me you are fully in the know on this Berbalang, Ninko, shitty coach thing.”

CJ answered, “I am to the point I know why this coach was so bad at her job. The woman knows literally nothing about volleyball or analytics. Nico is interviewing the people on the hiring committee and we will find out if there are more moles.” Fury filled me at the thought.

William linked, “Piper is here with you.” I needed her back at the hotel. The walk there was torture. I saw several of her teammates when we walked in, but I didn’t care. I took Piper upstairs because I was going to claim her over and over until Bernard calmed down.

Bernard scoffed, “Sure. Blame the wolf, we are easy targets.” I growled back at him. I cupped my mate’s face, “You’re mine.” Piper grinned, “I definitely am.” I ripped her dress off and settled between her thighs.

I gently touched where her cut was. Bernard grumbled, “Freya’s human was right. That should’ve been healed.” At least it wasn’t bruised because I’m positive my wolf would talk to Oden and tell him to come heal it. Bernard agreed, “I would.”

I lost myself in Piper and until well into the morning. Julian linked, “If you could teleport your mate home, you could keep sleeping but you need to get up.” I managed to wake up and got Piper up. I took my mate in the shower again.

Piper giggled, “We are so crazy.” I nuzzled her, “Not even close. You were amazing this weekend. I’m so proud of you.” I got her downstairs with Remi and Karl. Mauve and Jessnia got on the bus, which settled and surprised me.

I linked dad, “How are the Hackura guards on the bus?” Dad answered, “I own the university and they are on the staff for the volleyball team.” That moved me. I gratefully said, “Thanks, dad.”

I popped home with Karl. CJ and Nico caught us up on all things with the assistant coach. I opened a portal and asked, “Are you coming?” Karl answered, “I don’t know if you’re talking to me, but I’m f*****g coming.” I admitted, “I was talking to you.”

We went through with CJ and Nico. Uncle Benjamin was waiting. I went down into the dungeons and found Alexander torturing the woman while Melanie was on her computer. I asked, “What do we know?”

Melanie grumbled, “Shadow man… and can I just say….I hate that name… my program is looking…but it’s vague…a hat and a shadow? UGH!” Karl said, “I agree with that.” I growled, “Does this b***h know him?”

Melanie sighed, “Sadly, he was too smart for that. He gave the Berbalang…contact the money… so… I should be able to trace her back…to the group… since Xander got where they met. I’m hacking the cameras.”

I asked, “So, this can be over for Remi?” Melanie answered, “I mean… once I have the network….and we wipe them out…then it will be…but from what I’ve found they send pictures… to their whole group….so…the Hackura sent people to guard all the people that got out with Remi.”

I groaned, “Don’t tell me some of those people got taken again.” Melanie said, “They were… on the radar….and one that was reported dead was found….so… she got a new identity."

I growled, “Move, Alexander.” My brother moved and I shot forward, “You f*****g b***h!” The woman cried, “I was just going to report back. I didn’t even give them much. It was millions of dollars!” Karl scoffed, “You didn’t give them much because you barely spent time with them.”

The woman huffed, “I didn’t even know where they moved to.” I growled, “You gave up their dorm room?!” I linked dad, “We need people on Piper and Remi’s old dorm room.” Dad said, “Pack Warriors are on it.”

I snorted, “So, you just decided two girls' lives were worth getting a fat bank account?” The woman cried, “I didn’t know they…” I cut her off, “You knew Piper had a stalker. Her mom notified the university, who notified the coaching staff.”

Bernard snarled and I let my hand shifted into claw to drag them down her face. The woman screamed, “What are you people?” Karl answered, “The people who stop the fuckers you were getting paid by! THEY KIDNAPPED MY MATE AND THEY WANT HER BACK!”

My phone rang and I saw Piper’s name. I popped up outside the dungeons. I answered, “Hey, Piper.” Piper hummed, “So people keep transferring and now the analytics coach has been fired.”

I laughed, “Yes, she was bad at her job. I literally heard about it the entire two day tournament. Melanie disliked her and told my dad to fire her.” Piper asked, “Is it more than that?” Bernard urged, “Tell mate.” I admitted, “It is more than that. Karl and I will come talk to you and Remi about this soon.” Piper said, “Ok.”

I popped back to Karl, “Take your shot, we need to speak to our mates.” Karl swiped at her leg. Alexander told me, “I’ve got this, P. We won’t let anything happen to your mate or his.” I nodded and popped near Piper and Remi’s apartment.

We walked in and both women were giving a look. Remi stood, “The coach? That’s intense.” Karl growled, “She’s not actually a coach. She had a fake background given to her.” Piper gasped, “That’s why she was bad at her job?”

I answered, “Yes, she was paid to spy on you.” Piper’s eyes widened and I added, “Both of you.” Remi shouted, “What the f**k? ME?!!” Karl said, “The guy who kidnapped you had a family, Remi.” Piper made the Kitsune noise of anger.

I added, “That group and Piper’s stalker aligned their goals and decided to pay her, which Melanie found.” Piper asked, “Where the hell is that b***h?” Remi looked small for the first time since I met her. I answered, “My family is handling it.”

Remi whispered, “This…” then trailed off. Karl went over to her, “Remi, they aren’t going to get you.” Piper agreed, “They won’t. Those fuckers got found out.” I agreed, “They did. Melanie is on this with my family. I promise you the rest of the staff has been checked and the new analytics coach won’t be a plant.” Piper went over and hugged Remi.

We stayed with them and they eventually settled. Things settled into a rhythm that I knew would end eventually. I was at Piper’s scrimmage at a college a few hours away when my dad called.

I answered, “Hey dad.” Dad told me, “The Hood are having a ceremony to accept that Joe is King and his Queen is Aurora." I asked, “When?” Dad answered, “An hour. I know you can’t make it.”

I sighed, “I really can’t.” Dad admitted, “I know.” I said, “Give them my best.” Dad said, “Will do.” I inked Julian and William, “Are you guys at this deal?” William said, “I’ll pop in.” Julian laughed, “Melanie got permission and Val is helping set up. I’m here.” Alright.

The scrimmage had ended. I hugged Piper and got into the car I popped in. I watched the bus leave and pulled out going the opposite way. Lust hit me so hard I barely managed to make it where I was popping out.

Julian and William linked, “Magic released, mom went into concupiscence. It’s chaos.” I snorted, “I got that!” William said, “I’m with Anastasia. Enjoy, brothers.” I popped to Piper’s apartment then upstairs. I got in her shower and jacked off countless times by the time I heard Piper make it home. Thank f*****g Aesir. This was about to get crazy.

The Fairies are using loopholes, guys. That's really not surprsing LOL Sometimes, you just have to accept if Melanie doesn't like someone there will be something they've done in their life to justify her going at them. in this case, it was quite the ordeal for eveyrone.

Did you really think the Berbalang issue was dead and gone? Nope. They are still trying to get Remi and Piper is PISSED! Melanie explained about Piper's memories in a way that resonated with the Alpha's and everyone is changing how they talk to Piper about certain things involving her memories.

We have Hackura guards that are now following Remi and Piper. Bjourn is not going to mess around with these threats. Especially when a creepy group has combined forces with Piper's stalker. The Berbalang's have the official attention of the protectors of the realm. That's probably going to go quite poorly for them. Given they handed over to three brilliant tech minds how the get their backgrounds done. Mistakes were made.

Things settled but when do things ever stay settled in this universe? We have more chaos and craziness coming :)
