I screamed my release and he jerked his hips, thrusting into me harder than I would’ve thought possible in this position, roaring his own release. Preston eased me off him then popped the trunk and came back with a white thong.
I asked, “Have those in your trunk do you?” Preston winked, “I took them out of your bag that was placed in my car.” I asked, “Is there some magical tunnel over here we didn’t take? Because that seemed fast.” Preston laughed but didn’t answer. There was totally a secret tunnel. If we came back I could find it.
I didn’t know why, but I was utterly confident in my ability to track that down. When we pulled into the swankiest apartment complex I’d ever seen. Preston got me out of my side. I groaned, “I should’ve told you to take the scenic route.
I hit the buzzer on the door. The security man greeted, “Piper, welcome home.” A doorman appeared and opened it and I went through. A man was waiting with a package. He took my I.D. to verify I was me, handed me a key, and smiled.
The man said, “My name is Finnick. Please let me know if you need anything. You do have guests, but I will be available to do the spiel as your roommate called it, if you need it later. Remi believed she could repeat it to you.”
I laughed, “Sure. This is my boyfriend….” Finnick nodded, “Mr. Conners.” Of course they know him. Finnick said, “You’re on the approved guest list. This key fab gets you into the building, but you do have to stop at my desk until Ms. Piper.” Jesus.
Finnick told me, “You’re on the top floor.” Sure. We went to the elevator and the man waiting in there wearing a uniform swiped my key then hit the button for the top floor. I told Preston, “This place is swanky.” Preston smirked.
The door opened and I realized there was just one massive door. I snorted, “Well, I guess I don’t have to ask the number.” I took Preston’s hand and squeezed it tightly. Preston assured me, “I’m not going anywhere, Piper.”
I walked forward and used the key to open the door. I knew there were people waiting but I was looking at this place. They were in the living area that had a massive couch and tb with white stairs leading up to the bedrooms. What in the f**k? Did we have a penthouse apartment?!
A man stood and cleared his throat. I didn’t need to be told that was my father. He greeted, “Hello, Piper I’m …” I cut him off, “Pernell, I can tell. You certainly have interesting timing.” Nathan McD chortled.
I hugged Remi and whispered, “This place is crazy nice.” Remi giggled, “Right?!” Then glared at Pernell over my back. I hugged my mom and Nathan and smiled at Karl, who was here. I turned and the woman with Pernell greeted, “I’m Kenko, your dad’s wife.”
I replied, “I appreciate the reintroduction. Clearly someone told you I lost my memories. Have you been out of town?” I knew I sounded snarky because I was. Pernell answered, “We were unfortunately out of touch with Hazel. We found out about what was going on yesterday.” Oh, well that took anger out of my sails. Remi rolled her eyes though.
I said, “Well, this is boyfriend Preston.” Remi cheered, “Yeah, it is!” I glanced slightly nervously at my mom because I didn’t want to upset her. Mom just smiled and gave me a thumbs up.
I guess moving fast was in our blood since her and Nathan McD did. My stepdad was full on grinning as if he had an inside joke. While Pernell was trying not to smirk. Kenko said, “That’s very nice.” They didn’t come forward to meet him. I said, “I know I lost my memories, but it is standard to shake hands when you meet someone.”
Kenko quickly shook Preston’s hand, and I was certain my boyfriend’s grip nearly broke my dad’s hand when they shook. Pernell said, “I’d love to talk with you.” I would’ve liked him to show up sooner.
I asked, “Do I have siblings?” Pernell answered, “Yes, you have five siblings.” He smiled at Kenko as if she hung the world. I asked, “Am I the oldest?” Pernell answered, “You are.” I sighed, “Oh. Then what the hell?!”
Mom asked, “Piper?” I admitted, “I thought dad cheated with you or something because you don’t have any pictures of me with their family. I thought his wife must hate you and me, but she seems pretty nice. Are you all anti-picture? I’ve seen pictures of everyone in my life, but none of my own father.”
Kenko admitted, “We actually don’t take pictures. I hear you have a stalker, I did too. Your dad is very strict about my safety and we don’t put our faces out there.” I asked, “What are you guys rich too? My boyfriend is a billionaire.”
Preston chuckled and pulled me closer to him. Remi cheered, “Yeah, he is!” Pernell said, “First, I would never cheat on Kenko. Second, Kenko has loved you from the moment she heard about you.” That sounded intentionally evasive but alright. Remi again rolled her eyes.
Pernell said, “Third, I am not a billionaire but I am a millionaire.” Remi muttered, “Lame.” I shot her look and we both busted up laughing. I asked, “Are you my siblings here?” Kenko said, “They wanted to be, but we didn’t want to overwhelm you.”
I said, “Ok, how about we all meet for dinner? Mom, can you and Nathan make that work?” Mom nodded, “Of course.” Remi said, “Karl and I are also free.” Preston whispered, “I’ll be there if you want me there.”
I said, “Great. Then you can bring my siblings and everyone here can come.” Pernell asked, “Preston is coming?” I answered, “Yes.” Pernell stared deeply into my eyes and his changed color, “Hello, daughter.”
I snorted, “Umm weird greeting.” He coaxed, “Wake up.” I blinked rapidly wondering if this man was sane. I slowly said, “I am awake.” I shot a look at Remi who again rolled her eyes. Remi jumped up, “Alright, newbies out. I have to take Pipes here through the spiel. I promised Finnick downstairs. It’s part of the building's security. He’s a tightly wound man and I just can’t possibly be responsible for giving him a stroke. Off with you all.”
Remi whispered, “Except Preston. He can stay.” I squeezed his hand hoping he wouldn’t go. Mom hugged me with Nathan then Pernell and Kenko came over. Pernell said, “I look forward to tonight.”
Remi sighed, “Of course you do.” They literally shooed him out the door. Karl snickered. Once everyone was gone Remi grinned, “This place, right Piper?” I snorted, “Yeah, those girls in the dorms will absolutely hate us now. This is like a penthouse on crack.” Preston, Karl, and Remi busted up laughing but I was dead serious. My life had certainly taken an interesting turn these last twenty-four hours.

Melanie delivered with the ambiance of the place. Piper was beyond stunned and loving all the hidden features. Piper throughly enjoyed learning about Preston. Little does she know, he knows quite a bit more about her than even she does. Piper slid seemlessly into being mated really.
All her instincts lead her to Preston. Remi is all about Piper getting it on. She told a little white lie about birth control, for Preston and Piper's sake LOL Piper doesn't need it obviously. Poor Karl, he's still taking heat for his pillow msitress. We did learn something about her Kitsune side and when she'll be fertile. Did you catch it? ;)
Jenkins is here to help with all the household needs and appear when needed. Pernell came to meet his daughter. Remi is clearly less than impressed with him. Their new apartment? Remi is digging it. Of course Eric hooked his future daughter in law up with the nicest apartment in the whole place. Piper is backing down on Pernell's evasive answers. Everyone else? For example, the Fairy blood in the group, not as amused. We have an apartment tour and a fun dinner with siblings come up :) What could go wrong? Or right? That's an option.
