Crushes Pt. 3

Our pizza was brought to our table and we devoured it all. Remi said, “It’s just perfect.” They got called out to the dance floor. I smiled watching her. Beckett told me, “One day, you’ll meet your mate Piper. We’d better be invited.”

I snorted, “Beckett Strickland, you are of course invited to my mating ceremony.” Beckett grinned, “The whole pack will want to be included.” Joe popped over, “I’m obviously invited since I pop you back here all the time.” He winked and popped back to his mate.

I chuckled, “I think Remi is setting him on edge.” Remi called, “It’s good for him! I keep him young.” Joe’s mate busted up laughing. Grandpa Ralph came over, “I’ll have a dance with my granddaughter.”

Beckett and his mate got up to dance and I took Grandpa Ralph’s hand. Grandpa Ralph told me, “We miss you around here.” I laughed, “I miss the whole Watson crew. You guys are one of a kind.”

A man cleared his throat beside us. Sora said, “We know him.” I’d never met him though, I’d just seen him in pictures. Grandpa Ralph chuckled, “Piper, meet my son in law Steven McDermont.” I grinned saying, “I’ve heard so much about you.”

Steven laughed, “My wife is chatting away with your mother. We’ve heard so much about you, so it's like we know we. Can I have a dance before that young man tears you away from the reception.”

Remi twirled by snorted, “He cannot until I leave. Brax is aware of the rules.” Steven laughed, “You are still hilarious, Remi.” Steven McDermont took my hand and we danced. Steven told me, “My father in law adores you and your mother.”

I replied, “He’s the best. My grandpa on my mom’s side sucks. Well, according to her, so does my dad’s dad. I claim only Grandpa Ralph.” Steven grinned saying, “That makes Ralph very happy. He misses my wife. He visits more now, which my mate adores.” I knew that.

Steven winked, “Less when you lived here, but he had another granddaughter to spoil.” I replied, “Thanks for letting me borrow him. He was the only teacher I wanted.” Steven nodded, “Ralph’s one of the most patient Alpha’s I know, unless someone is in danger. My wife was a mess when she got the texts about Remi being missing.”

Steven paused then admitted, “My son, Nathan, was ready to get popped in because he’s good at finding remote places. Then we heard what you did. You’re remarkable, Piper.” I blushed, “People just brag.”

Sora snorted, “They do not, we are amazing.” Steven admitted, “I don’t think they do. All my sons wanted to come meet you. Nick took over for me and was practically chomping at the bit. My wife and I were coming to visit before this was scheduled at the end of the year when that business happened with this stalker.”

Sora huffed, “That Ninko ruins everything.” I admitted, “I always wanted to meet you guys.” Steven replied, “As we wanted to meet you. Life just got busy, but we should’ve made the time. I just want you to know, you’ll always be welcomed in my old pack or any run by my son’s. We will be your safety net if required.”

I was honored, “Thank you so much.” Steven winked, “We do have very strong allies that surround us. That stalker would take his life in his own hands coming near you with those that back us.” He’d mean the Daniels, Lyons, and most of all the Conners.

Sora purred, “Preston would rip people to pieces. I just know it.” I reminded her, “That sounds more like Alexander.” Sora scoffed, “Did you see Preston’s muscles? He could do it. Find out his wolf's name.” How was I supposed to do that?

I said, “I saw Julian, Preston, and William in an article recently for opening a children’s hospital.” Steven agreed, “All the Conners kids have a lot of charities they run. They are quite the philanthropic family.”

I asked, “Have you met their wolves?” Steven laughed, “Have I ever. They were running around as pups driving us all a little insane. Titan, Lief, and Bernard are always together though. That trio is quite close.”

Sora screamed, “It’s Bernard! THAT ONE IS PRESTON!” I’d ask how she knew, but when Steven had said it, the truth of it hit me too. Steven asked, “Would you like a drink?” I grinned, “Bourbon, please.”

Steven chuckled, “Interestingly enough that is one of those boy’s scents.” Sora purred, “I would lick him all day long.” I asked, ‘Which one?” Steven smirked knowingly, “Preston.” Sora said, “I knew it. I will always harbor this crush.”

Steven handed me my drink and matched it with his own bourbon. We drank in silence. Remi came over, “Now, I’m stealing my bestie.” I waved, “It was nice to meet you Steven.” Steven grinned, “Likewise, feel free to come by our pack anytime if you’re in our nick of the woods.” I reached out for a handshake but he hugged me.

Remi dragged me off. I hugged her, “You’re married.” Remi squealed, “I’m married!” Several people laughed while we danced the rest of the night away. Karl and Braxton joined us out on the dance floor.

Karl growled, “Woman, I can literally take no more. I need to claim you.” Remi mockingly gasped, “Gosh, I was beginning to think I was going to have to grind on you all night. What took you so long?” Some people groaned, but most laughed at Remi’s antics.

Everyone howled when Karl and Remi left their reception. I waved at mom who was now talking to Steven along with his mate. Mom winked back at me. Braxton growled, “This dress has taunted me long enough.” Sora said, “Let’s go get some moments for the orgasm jar as mom says.” Yeah, I was definitely going to do that. It was good to be back in this pack.

We are back! Piper is being stalked, but nothing was going to stop Piper from coming back for Remi and Karl's mating Ceremony. Hazel has a crush and Piper does too. Hazel is weirded out by older Vampires with younger women and is all over Piper's crush. We already know how Piper can tell all the Conners boys apart. Poor harrassed Joe the partial Fairy LOL Remi is keeping him on his toes though.

Remi is having a blash but is FURIOUS that Piper was taken away for their epic senior year. That Ninko will RUE the day. He has no idea how Remi is prepared to dole out some justice for this slight. Remi wishes she and Piper were in the Resistance. Could this wish get granted? LOL

Remi isn't wrong. She and Piper clocked Ashley was in the Resistance simply from the fact she wouldn't meet Alexander. Wait until she hears about the cookies LOL Braxton is back! We are playing, having fun, and being frisky. Piper is worried about Hazel dealing with this Ninko. It should be clear to anyone who to target to get to Piper, but this man isn't engaging in that direction. Will he change that? Or is Brax right that coming after Hazel would be a death sentence?

Of course there was drama at the mating Ceremony, but it was quickly handled by our girl. The pack kind of has a loose hair trigger on people stalking Remi. Steven (remember him from Eric and Haley's story) is here. He's caught onto things even without his Beta being present. Sora and Piper know Preston's wolf's name now too :)
