Gummies Pt. 3

Ree’s mom chuckled, “Go on, Ree. Your friends are waiting.” Ree ran past us to a car waiting in the driveway and they left. Ree’s mom said, “You guys did do quite a bit. We never heard about the bake sale you did, but you sent us the proceeds.” We did what? Julian jumped in, “Well, we just wanted to say hi and check on Ree.” Ree’s mom grinned, “Well, thank you for coming. You all, any Conners, are welcome in this house at any time.” We left. I whispered, “Bake sale?” Julian snorted, “I have no f*****g idea. We have a lot for Uncle Gunner to check on. I called him. Uncle Gunner answered, “You’re supposed to be here, P, but I know you're not.” I snorted, “Julian, William and I are on the trail of things. I need you to check on an old classmate’s business. Daisy Melsy. She sells weed gummies. Right now, I need to know where the family from the Ferris Wheel accident got their home helper and tutor. Her name is Ree.” Uncle Gunner said, “One second. The home helper isn’t too far from you. I sent your address. What’s going on?” I said, “I think the Resistance gave Ree’s family money and they definitely clicked onto the fact that Merida was bad because they questioned people.” William said, “Yeah, I don’t think I would’ve thought Daisy had much to add about the situation.” I admitted, “It’s kind of brilliant though. Daisy was very relaxed and probably processed more than we did at the time.” Uncle Gunner said, “Ok, well you still have a blood eagle to do. Merida is cracking into near madness thinking we are pushing it.” I snorted, “As she deserves. Can you find out if she had money? Ree’s family apparently got it all.” Uncle Gunner said, “I already knew that, but yes she did have money.” William scoffed, “What a b***h!” Julian agreed, “No joke. She had to know Daisy was scrimping by and still had her shell out money for her.” Uncle Gunner asked, “Does that shock you the woman who wanted Julian and Wiliam dead to have Preston to herself is a bad person?” I admitted, “No. It definitely tracks that she would have other people pay for her that didn’t have money when she did. Who sent their family the money? Because that’s something we’d do, but not witches.” Uncle Gunner said, “The family maintained they had no idea that Merida was involved, and said the money was recompense. We suspect the Resistance gave them an ultimatum, but they haven’t said.” I snorted, “Why haven’t we made them?” Uncle Gunner said, “It was the right thing to do, and I don't think the Resistance came in person. If I were them I’d leave a note with my blue circle with a line through it in a do it or else kind of thing.” I reasoned, “We could get the letter then.” Uncle Gunner laughed, “No way. It probably self-destructed. There is no way the Resistance would allow evidence left behind like that. Or they stole the letter to prove they could in the house. Yeah, that’s definitely it.” We hung up and went to the home helper’s house. I knocked and she answered with a smile greeting, “Ahh, Alexander Conners.” She knew Alexander?! Shock went around Julian and William’s bond. Alexander was now holding onto our bonds out of curiosity. I said, “No, I’m Preston Conners. These are my brothers William and Julian.” The woman admitted, “I just love your family so much. You do so much for the community and Alexander certainly keeps me moving around and in a job.” I linked Julian, “He does?” Julian replied, “I’m in your same vein of thought right now.” William linked, “Excuse me?! Alexander does what now?” I asked, “How does he do that?” She answered, “Oh, I work for him technically.” I linked Alexander, “Question.” Alexander snorted, “Thank god. What?” I asked, “Do you have a business I don’t know about where people are home helpers?” Alexander answered, “No, why?” I snorted, “Someone does it in your name then.” I linked Uncle Gunner, “Can you find the business that…?” Uncle Gunner said, “Already into it because I looked into Ree’s family and the home helper. I dug into the business and found interesting things.” I said to the woman, “Well, we were just going to ask how you got Ree’s assignment.” The woman smiled, “The poor thing. Big crowds became so hard for her and it wasn’t her fault she fell down those stairs. She was on so much medicine and just wanted some water.” Julian pressed, “The assignment?” She beamed, “I matched best on the system and was sent her details. Your brother’s non for profit has really changed lives. We have people who donate to it for the care of people and then we get assignments. The pay is great, the healthcare is amazing, and there’s great time off. So, basically the benefits are great.” The woman continued, “There’s a portal and our profiles are on it to help match with our expertise. I thought the qualifications your brother requires were a bit crazy, but after getting the job I really have used those. I actually had to get a couple certifications so I could land the interview. Anyway, please tell your brother this is an amazing business and I’m honored to work here.” I grinned, “Will do.” She beamed, “It was so nice to meet you guys! I actually have a whole photo board of people I’ve helped. I’m in contact with most of them too. Do you want to see it?” I answered, “I do.” I walked in and saw a literal board of photos of this woman with kids, older people, even some middle age. The woman sighed, “This one was hard.” She pointed at an older man in his sixties. The woman sighed, “Ree was my first assignment back after that one. I was given time off because of the case. Another amazing thing. Your brother values mental health, which I imagine is the benefit of being raised by your mom.” My brother did value mental health, which meant the person doing this knew that. The woman continued, “My patient fought so hard. I was with him while he fought cancer for two years. His kids were trying to get him the treatment, but the insurance denied the claim. They said the treatment was experimental.” “The daughter was getting married and his first grandchild was coming. I matched with him and a donor paid for his treatment. He got more time with his kids. He had to use a cane, but he walked his daughter down the aisle and got to see his grandchild.” I asked, “Why would the insurance deny the claim?” The woman laughed, “Insurance companies are d***s. They look for ways to not cover treatments.” That was horrible! The woman said, “This company really does change lives and helps people get out from under the pile of medical debt they find themselves in.” The woman sighed, “Most people don’t want to call ambulances because they are so expensive.” Ok, so we needed more companies like this. That’s what I was hearing. I nodded and blocked the woman’s view of Preston taking pictures of her picture board. We left and popped back to the Hackura realm. Mom was ranting, “The f**k do you mean insurance companies in the human realm have people f*****g paying out the ass TO LIVE! These are LIFE SAVING treatments! Their lives cost so damn much and now they get debt accumulated TO LIVE?! For their life to be saved?!” Mom waved, “I’ve heard the phones say if this is an emergency hang up and dial nine one one. You’re telling me when they dial they have THOUSANDS of dollars MINIMUM to keep living?! CANCER?! They deny people with CANCER treatments?! How the f**k do they live with the guilt knowing people f*****g die because of them!” Mom turned, “I am so proud of you, Alexander. This is f*****g amazing. I’m going to talk to my dad. We need more businesses like this to help the humans. We are the protectors of the realms and that includes them.” Mom popped out. I asked, “Why doesn’t mom know you didn’t do this?” Alexander admitted, “We hadn’t got there yet. She got the initial file which had the details of the company.” Dad said, “Except he did do it. The company is in his name and his information was used to open it. His picture is in the company building as the CEO. Your Uncle Gunner’s program was used for the matching system.” Uncle Gunner agreed, “More or less. There’s some tweaks.” I snorted, “So, Alexander did it but he didn’t. Who would do this? Are your taxes wrong in the human realm?” Alexander answered, “No, our accountant received the details and it’s practically a tax write off.” EJ snorted, “No wonder you pay less than the rest of us. You even get a refund sometimes.” I asked, “Ok, but who did this?” Uncle Gunner grinned, “It all leads back to Alexander. The IP is his at one of his offices. It was days he was even there.” Alexander shrugged, “I would love to take credit but I didn’t do this.” Cookies appeared on a plate. We all reached for them. I managed to snag two. After eating them I said, “This is a great thing. Now, Alexander knows about it and so do we. We should just take this as the gift it was intended as.” Uncle Gunner wiped cookies away, “True. I’ll poke around occasionally, but this is a good thing someone did in Alexander’s name. It’s been great PR for him, and now we know that more businesses like this are needed in the human realm.” Everyone nodded their heads and agreed. I walked out and saw Tim staring at me like I’d lost my mind. I asked, “Are you ready for the blood eagle, little bro?” Tim blinked repeatedly then hung his head. I asked, “Tim?” Tim sighed, “You won’t be reasonable right now, I’ll just try later.” I frowned, “What does that mean?” Tim said, “You guys just let all that go. Someone started a business for our big brother. That’s weird.” I shrugged, “They are doing a great thing for humans and people who need help get it.” I showed him the picture, “This is one person touching all these lives and improving things.” Tim said, “That’s not the point. It is great but WHY was it done in Alexander’s name?” Tim continued, “How do they have his social security number? How did they start a business without him knowing? Without UNCLE GUNNER knowing?! How did the accountant get the details? Someone knows his accountant! This person is giving our brother credit for an amazing business!” I nodded, “Yeah, they clearly needed Alexander as a front for some reason.” Tim groaned, “AHHHHHH! I knew I shouldn’t talk about this with you right now.” Julian asked, “Tim, what’s wrong?” Tim said, “Nope. Don’t even try, William. You guys are just going to be unreasonable." Tim walked away, “I hate those damn cookies. They turn everyone weird.” William said, “That seems weird.” Julian agreed, “It was. Something else must be bugging him. We’ll figure it out.” I nodded, “We will. Let’s go end Merida.” William grinned, “I think this will make her so mad.” Julian snorted, “You think?” Bernard offered, “I know it will.” I grinned, “Merida despises how close we are so having us do the blood eagle together will piss her off.” I popped us onto the stage to wait. Merida was led through the streets by Uncle Ubbe as our people threw stones at her. She was sobbing when she made it to the stage as our people booed her. I held up my hands and the crowd quieted. I said, “This woman thought she could kill William and Julian and get away with it.” Merida sobbed, “I didn’t drive the car! I was supposed to be on the ride too.” I scoffed, “She orchestrated the whole thing and used the Ring to get around Angela’s visions.” I waved, “She put my life, Angela, William, Julian, and innocent people on that ferris wheel’s lives in danger. All to try to get me to herself. Today, she will pay for what she did. William, Julian and I will perform this blood eagle together.” Merida gasped, “No! Just you.” I asked, “Do you think that you get to decide such things?” Julian laughed, “You tried to break us apart, but now we are still close.” William added, “Closer than ever actually.” I conjured a weapon and cut into her back. William, Julian and I took turns well after Merida was dead. We arranged her ribs together then grinned at each other. We came together in a group hug. I said, “I’ll never let someone come in between us again.” Julian said, “You didn’t let her. We were still close.” Well, I wasn’t having s*x with someone like that again. Sucker or no. Suckers were going to be banned from my diet. Join my group on F B The Ribbon Novels for more information on all things in my books, casts, albums, and spoiler discussions with your theories. Whew boy. If not for Lisa, the allies would've sent some represtation to the Underground fights. Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, you're getting worse and we thougth you'd reached the bottom of how bad you could be. Preston tried to show his friend that they believed in him, but Keaton still wanted to be in the background. Too bad Chase talked Alexander out of killing Lisa, so many problems could've sovled. Darn that Harpy blood affecting him. The younger Conners wanted to bait the Resistance into killing someone. Do you think it would've worked? Did the younger siblings in fact do this? They kind of seemed to ban together there. It's more than possible Angela fed the Resistance people she wanted out of the way. What do you think? :) The boldness of Melanie to have a statue WITH AN R placed. There was a whole lot of sceince and math invovled there. She did NOT know about the child in the trunk. Maverick was not amused, nor were any of the Conners. This sparked questions for Merida before her demise. That led Preston, William, and Julian on an interesting fact finding mission. Who started a whole company in Alexander's name and had all those details? (I will only slightly judge if you can't tell me LOL Unless you are joining us in this book. Then you get a pass and that's fair). Ree's family was taken of and so many others were. Haley believes Alexander started this company and is AGAHST at the treatments humans are receiving. Who would've thought Daisy held the answers? Not our core group. Can you guess the three cops? I feel I laid that out, you'll have to tell me if I'm wrong. FOILED BY COOKIES! Do you know that when Haley finds out they let the fact that someone STARTED this company in ALEXANDER'S NAME and used ALL his details to get it going over that cookie, she rages LOL (Now, at the point in H&K's book she knows but she didn't for awhile. THE HIJINKS GO TO ANOTHER LEVEL FOR THIS ONE!) We are getting close to these two crazy kids meeting :)
