The Alpha and His Hunted Kitsune Princess

What am I? Pt.3

Sora said, “He’d have to use our weaknesses and very Dark Magic. That evil thing will have to spend time collecting such things. He knows we are more powerful than him since we kicked him out.” Great. An unknown evil dude in the background looking for things to hurt me and my Kitsune with.

Mom asked, “Do Kitsunes have weaknesses? I found some things online but I need to know what they are.” We’d never run across anything that made me weak like wolfsbane and silver did to Werewolves.

Sora took over to answer, “We can drink alcohol but too much would cause us to shift. Which is not good since we live in this realm.” No alcohol, got it. Sora continued, “Only a dagger to the heart made with Iron and gold can kill us.”

Mom asked, “Can both make you weak?” Sora answered, “Not apart, no. They have to be together to hurt us. Ingested we’d be paralyzed but it wears off. It could burn us, but they have to be combined together. Separately, they do not hurt us. They have to be melted together.” Ok, that was nice.

Sora added, “Or someone can send negative emotions to us with a spell. I am strong enough to fight those emotions, but too much would kill a non-Royal Kitsune.” Mom asked, “Emotions can be sent at you by a dark spell?” Sora answered, “Yes.”

Mom asked, “Is there anything that can help you fight that spell off?” Sora answered, “The Tenko can grant that to his or her people, but I do not know if good Witches can counter it.” Mom tapped her thumbs on the wheel.

I took back over asking, “What are you thinking?” Mom answered, “Princess Luna Haley Conners has a Witch sister in law that’s very powerful. The Bishops are obviously powerful in their own right, maybe even more than Megan; however, Megan is known to use Fairy magic in her spells because of her children and who her mate was.”

I asked, “Are you going to reach out?” Mom said, “I think I will. I’ll be vague. Witches don’t mind that like packs and Beta’s do. Megan won’t ask as many questions.” I winced saying, “Won’t that be expensive?”

Mom waved, “To keep you safe, I will spend every dime to my name. Don’t worry about it, sweetie. I make us a good living.” Mom consulted for juries virtually. No one ever saw her, but mom could always tell who would be sympathetic. Mom could make a lot more money if she worked for everyone who contacted her, but she only took jobs with people she thought were innocent.

Mom assured me, "Everything is going to be ok. We have money and the packs never charge us rent. That saves so much money, trust me.” Mom would always help out around the pack. She’d work in the laundry room and do any job they needed really. Some used her expertise with Wolves that were going against human courts.

That didn’t honestly happen much, but bar fights that can’t be smoothed over did happen. Mom always got a hung jury or an innocent verdict. Sora said, “Another reason Shiylo chose her. For a human, she’s very intuitive about people.” I would never argue that.

Mom asked, “Sora, are you afraid of dogs?” Sora scoffed, “No. Dogs adore Kitsunes. We do not know where that lore came from.” I teased, “Mom, we used to have a dog and it loved me more than you.” Mom huffed, “I saved that tiny chihuahua and it did love you more.” It died from old age, but she was a great dog.

I added, “Sora said they don’t know where that came from, but dogs love her.” Mom grinned, “That’s good. Most packs tend not to have dogs, but it has gotten more popular since hybrids are in packs.”

Mom asked, “So, I stumbled upon ninko’s and…” Sora’s angry noise slipped out. Mom said, “I see. So, those are Kitsune's enemies.” Sora took over and replied, “They are called ninko’s or yako. They are a type of Kitsune and they are evil.”

I asked, “Is the man who came to that forest place one?” Sora replied, “I do not know, but it would not surprise me.” Great. Mom changed the subject, “Well, now we know why you are such a smartie pants. Kitsunes are rumored to be quite intelligent.”

Sora agreed, “Yes, we are.” Mom asked, “Do you know Piper’s powers?” Sora answered, “I know we have ten abilities, hence ten tails.” I told her, “She knows we have ten powers. It’s why we have ten tails.”

Mom admitted, “I did find nine to be more common, but my baby girl has never been common.” Sora made a noise of contentment in my head. I snorted, “I’m having a day. I always knew I had a counterpart. I was prepared to be strong because you said dad was the Alpha. Now, I’m probably a Crown Princess even if I’m not then I’m stronger than my siblings. Should I have them?”

Sora replied, “That I cannot tell you. It is likely but I can’t sense them like I know our sire is around.” I questioned, “Why can’t he sense us?” Sora replied, “He must have other kits. He would sense the change in the air, like I said. Female Kitsunes have the ability to know if our Sire is alive, in our realm, or elsewhere.”

I asked, “Can we find him if we are close to him?” Sora replied, “He would find us. Our scent would call to him.” I told mom, “Well, if we ever end up around where dad is, he’ll come find me. My scent calls to Alpine, I’m guessing.” Sora confirmed, “Correct.”

Mom said, “Well, that’s at least something.” She bit her lip. I realized, “You think despite living all over he’s never come.” Mom winced, “Yes, but we don’t know the range of the scent. He could be in Europe, but Pernell talked about wanting to bring everyone back here. So, I always assumed they came back.”

I said, “Sora does say he’s here.” Sora confidently said, “He is.” Mom sighed, “Does she know the range of the scent that would call to him?” Sora replied, “No, but our mate’s would be stronger.” I asked, “Can we find our mate now?” Sora answered, “Yes.”

I laughed, “Buckle up, mom. I can find my mate now.” Mom laughed, “I’m happy for you, sweetie. If you wait until you're eighteen I’ll throw you a party. I’m so advanced in many ways but that Supernatural way is baffling to me. Maybe that’s why I gravitate to wolves.”

I teased, “Their hybrids can know their whole lives.” Mom agreed, “That’s actually adorable. Alpha EJ and Luna Elise’s story is adorable.” They were nineteen now and about to take over the pack officially with his brother and sister, Alpha Alexander and Alpha Cassie.

I grinned, “You think Alpha Cassie is a bad ass.” Mom snorted, “I think all the women in that family or mated into it are. Alpha Cassie has a mate in a different realm and worked out a role so she could do both roles. She’s younger than me and my hero. She’s an actual girl boss like her mother.”

Mom pressed, “You remember the contingency plan, right?” Sora snorted, “I know the plan and I’m telling you nothing will harm our mother.” I whispered, ‘Mom, you’ve hammered that into me since I was little.”

Mom gave me a look saying, “Humor me.” Sora took over, “Nothing will happen to you.” Mom sighed, “I hope it doesn’t, Sora. I’m just getting to know you and I adore you and Piper. Piper is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Humans aren’t as durable as Supernatural’s though. If I knew your dad, I’d send him to you if anything happened to me. I’d be near him with you now if I knew where he was. Being that I don’t, tell me the plan.”

I took back over, “You left custody of me to Haley Conners. She will be notified but I’m to make my way there with the money in the account you have opened for me in my name. You know that she’ll get me to the right guardian.”

Mom agreed, “I do. You know I toy with going to them anyway.” I said, “Yes, but we don’t know who that would draw to us and you know Dad was taken by someone.” Mom nodded and tears filled her eyes.

I whispered, “Mom.” Mom cried, “I wish I knew if going to Black Mountain was the best thing for you or not. I don’t want to expose you. They’d probably keep it a secret, but I can’t know that for certain because I don’t know them. The rumors about them make them believe they would, but of everything in this life I cannot risk you.”

I told her, “I understand, mom. I think you’re making the right call. We’re the best we have with the information available to us. We have contingency plans.” Mom wiped tears away, “I just wish I knew more of this world you walk for you. As much as I enjoy the Supernatural world, I’m not a part of it .”

Sora took over, “You are a part of it. Shiylo smiles on you and you are our mother. A Kitsune’s mother is a great honor. Especially outside mates. You are part of this world, and you have done outstanding raising Piper. Being around Alpha types who do not judge, who let us go to school with their kits when we were young. They understood the anger we had sometimes.”

Sora added, “You did amazing in those instances too. You never made us feel bad. You got us to people who helped explain those feelings. You have great empathy and that is highly valued among the Kitsunes. It is why our Sire would’ve been drawn to you. You possess far more than your peers among the humans and even some Supernaturals.”

Sora let me take back over. Mom pulled off so we could eat. I got out the tissues and I handed them to her. Mom whispered, “I love you, Piper. You are my greatest joy and present in this life. I’m so glad Sora is with you now.”

I teased, "Apparently, she’s been there the whole time. I’ve told you a lot I could never have a better mother. I know you’ve felt like a Supernatural would be better, but Sora is here with facts from a god to back me up. You are amazing and I know you always put my needs above yours. Just promise when the right guy comes along you let yourself be happy.” Mom tucked my hair behind my ear, “Maybe after you graduate.” I snorted, “Mom.”

Mom said, “You will always be my priority, Piper. I never thought I’d have you. Doctors to this day call you a medical miracle.” Sora muttered, “Shiylo granted is a higher achievement than a miracle.” I snorted out a laugh.

Mom continued, “I don’t consider myself putting anything on hold. That just say me line of s*x toys is here for me.” I laughed, “Another sign you’re not like humans. Most humans I’ve talked to about things don’t have mothers who talk about masturbating.”

Mom waved, “It’s perfectly natural and healthy even.” Sora agreed, “It is. We need orgasms as a Supernatural." I knew that. Luna’s in the pack I was in sat with me and mom and talked about that. Mom had always said it was healthy and we had open and honest communications about s*x. The Luna explained Supernatural's drive was higher. Plus, as an Alpha type I’d have a higher drive.

Mom waved, “The point is, I will never disregard the miracle that is you in my life. All I wanted was to be a mother to be told I would be in for a hell of a fight with very low possibilities of success. That was with medical intervention. My life is not on pause. You make my life continue. I never knew what true love was until I had you. I will do everything for you, Piper, because you are my child.”

I said, “You’re still sacrificing a lot for me.” Mom said, “Such is parenting. It’s all a sacrifice. One I was more than happy to offer the universe. Now, I guess Shiylo I should’ve thanked.” Sora agreed, “It was.”

Mom grinned, “Now, let’s get some food and get to Rhode Island. That pack has some answers for us. We can arm ourselves with every piece of knowledge we can between their old archives, lore that Sora can tell us if it is correct or not. Then there’s Sora herself. We are going to get you answers, Sweetie.” I nodded and we walked inside. I finally knew what I was and I was going to learn all I could about Kitsunes.

Here we have Piper! Her and Hazel are a mother daughter duo who are also best friends. What's guiding Hazel's sense of needing to leave? She seems to be quite intiutive. Kitsunes, thankfully, come twelve hours prior to the fourtneeth birthday, techinally they just wake up because they are there all along.

Piper knows hazel tried her best to contact Pernell but has not been successful. Hazel has found packs that accept her and Piper everywhere they go. Hazel's family did try to get invovled but they got Kitsune Princess'd (yes it's a whole verb). Don't you just wonder if they have ever come around after that moment? These are questions.

Piper connected with that Alpha and he took her under her wing. SORA IS HERE! We've seen how Kitsunes shift and run. This Alpha and Gamma were so sweet to run with her and have food ready for her. They changed their style to match hers. Sora has the deets!!!! She knows her Sire is around but cannot contact or find him.

Hazel has dedicated everything to raising Piper and has done an amazing job. Piper is Royal (Which is not a surprise to us given the title, but it is to Piper and Hazel!) We know what weaknesses are. Is the bad guy a Ninko? Who is the man in her dream? Is he plotting somewhere to hurt Piper? Will Megan (yes our Witch Megan, Arion's Megan) be able to help?
