Piper winked, “Well, I’m everyone’s big sister.” Pen pointed out, “You’re only a few months older than me.” Piper made a face then short Pernell a slight judging look that had me smirking.

Remi deadpanned, “Yeah, imagine that.” Piper said, “I’m sure you guys remember Remi, but this is my best friend. Karl, have you met everyone?” Karl answered, “Nope.” Piper looked confused but introduced them, “This is Karl, Remi’s husband. Preston is with me.”

Bernard said, “That’s better than boyfriend.” I snorted, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Bernard retorted, “Nope. It’s infinitely better because she could just not be saying mate.” I groaned, “Bernard, she’s not saying it because she doesn’t know what it means.”

Bernard acknowledged, “I know but Alpine is talking to me and it’s making me testy.” I left him to that. We sat down while Piper chatted with her siblings. Pernell tried to chime in, but the kids just kept rolling with their conversion.

I threw my arms around Piper’s chair then looked around the restaurant. My eyes locked in a guy in the back watching. I linked Julian, William, and Dad, “Eyes on us at the restaurant.” They’d know it was normal.” I kissed Piper’s temple, “I’ll be right back.” My mate smiled at me.

Nathan watched me go to the back. I faded back and went to sit at the guy’s booth. He was definitely a Kitsune. I faded in, “If you scream, I’ll knock you out so fast.” He jerked back and looked at me.

I asked, “Who are you?” He avoided my eyes, “No one.” I snorted, “Wrong answer.” The guys sighed, “I was curious and I’m meeting a contact.” I asked, “What contact?” Alexander sat down next to me then answered, “Melanie.”

I sighed, “A head’s up would be….” Then I trailed off, “You didn’t get one.” The guy whispered, “Is that really the Tenko? I want to like him, but our realm really has gone to the Ninko’s. We are safe though, but Melanie said that was the bare minimum.”

Alexander said, “My mate is distraught she missed her calculations by fifteen minutes on you being early.” The guy laughed, “Yeah, she would be.” Alexander nodded “I’ve got him. I’ll be in the meeting. William and Julian are going to sit at this booth and keep an eye out. Melanie is only meeting this guy.

The guy snorted, “Yeah, I still don’t know the shadow man. I do agree it’s a dumb name though.” I asked, “My sister in law called it dumb?” The guy grinned, “In so many words, yes. It’s what she meant.” I muttered, “It is a dumb ass name.”

The guy inclined his head to Piper, “She’s the Crown Princess.” It wasn’t a question. I asked, “How do you know?” The guy answered, “She’s the second most powerful Kitsune at the table. Nearly the first.” I internally groaned.

Bernard huffed, “There’s going to be another prophecy.” I agreed, “Yes, but it can f**k off. My mate doesn’t have her Kitsune or her memories. That’s going to have to wait.” Bernard said, “Agreed. We are up to our eyeballs in prophecies and important things to fulfill. Everyone can chill out. We live for centuries.” I knew that.

I got up and made my way back to the table. Karl, Pernell, Pen, Nathan, Pryce, and Pio’s eyes were on me. Piper asked, “Are you ok, P?” I answered, “Yes, I just spotted an associate of my sister in law’s. I said hello.”

Piper teased, “Is that the one with the super cool romantic spot?” I answered, “Yes, it is.” Piper laughed, “I was joking. Remi, we have to meet this girl. She’s a total girl boss.” Nathan linked, “We’re good, right?”

I answered, “Melanie’s getting answers, but we are good. The contact is hers from the Kitsune realm.” Nathan nodded. Dinner went pretty well. Pernell got to talk more as the evening went on, which I didn’t care about one bit.

By the time we made it back to their place, I was carrying Piper. My mate whispered, “Stay, Preston.” I agreed, “Of course.” Remi warned, “We are getting up SO early for our first class.” I laughed, “That’s not a big deal.”

I got Piper to bed then held her in. Her alarm went off at five. Their class must be at six thirty. Piper jumped up and got ready. When she came out, my mate looked nervous. I took her phone and put my number in.

I told her, “Call or text me.” Piper asked, “What are you going to do today?” I answered, “I’ll be working. You have a good first day of class. What’s up first?” Piper looked at her schedule, “It’s a high level finance class.”

I grinned, “Do you like numbers, love?” Piper admitted, “I’m sort of a whiz with numbers. I’m a finance and statistics double major.” I nuzzled her neck, “That’s hot.” Piper laughed, “Today should just be going over the syllabus and everything.”

I drove her and Remi to campus after waving to Karl who got in his SUV. Probably to get popped to Joe. I could pop him in and out. I’d have to offer. Bernard assured me, “I told his wolf. He said thanks and that might help with Joe’s schedule.” Good.

I drove to the pack grounds. CJ grinned at me, “Hey, man.” Nico hugged me, “So, how’s everything?” I answered, “I wish my mate was marked, but it went really well. Piper is not sticking to human things. Tell me everything I need to know about Kitsunes.”

Nico snorted, “My man, that’s too broad. We have been educated.” I asked, “How long is the period before she could go into the name you can’t pronounce for heat?” CJ said, “Piper can’t go into it until she’s marked, but she could become super nest-y even without being marked. If you don’t take her back to where she made the start of hers, then she’ll sneak in there.”

I questioned, “To a facility Melanie owns?” CJ said, “They have orders to let her in and not to bother her, but to keep people away from her.” I laughed, “Why do I just picture Remi and Piper in all black busting in and thinking they got away with it?” Nico said, “I would actually pay to watch that security footage.”

I waved, “I’ll take Piper back.” Bernard chuckled. Something told me, Remi and Piper were totally going to think they broke in. Well, Remi would know they weren’t. I asked, “What else? Did you guys meet the other Kitsune?”

CJ answered, “We did. He’s staying here because Melanie doesn’t want him to go back. She estimates it at over eighty percent he could get hurt and she’s not going to let that happen. Plus, he should totally stay here for reasons.”

I laughed, “So, there’s another Kitsune mate situation on the horizon.” Nico winked, “It’s totally not a partial Fairy coming to practice, P.” Bernard was now wheezing in my head. We got to work. Eventually I went to the gym.

I turned when I saw Valentina waiting for me with a big grin on her face. I called, “Hey, Val.” Valentina replied, “Hi. You’re coming with us tonight.” I asked, “What?” Valentina replied, “A big Conners sibling thing at the club you own.”

I laughed, “Alright.” I wondered what they’d cooked up. I was busy the rest of the day in meetings. I took a quick shower and snapped myself ready. I’d text and invite Piper when I got there. I popped to my office and locked the place down to Supernatural's tonight. I did not want to deal with humans.

I walked out and found Alexander was there with Melanie. I turned asking, “Big brother, is that mom and dad out there?” Alexander replied, “You know it because you have excellent eye sight.” I questioned, “What on earth is going on?”

Melanie squeaked, “Nothing….it’s totally nothing.” I laughed, “Yeah, that tells me…” I trailed off when I scented Piper. I heard Remi shout, “Melanie!” I whispered, “You know them?” Melanie blushed scarlet red.

I turned and Remi smirked at me. Piper gasped, “Preston!” Melanie said, “This is my husband, Xander and his brother Preston… which you know… because you said his name… and went on a date…which I definitely do not know about….so that was… hey more people!”

Piper turned, “Anastasia and Val!” I glanced at Alexander who smirked at me. I linked William, “What the f**k?” William answered, “I got nothing.” I glanced at Julian who linked, “I have no idea.”

Piper came over and kissed me. My mate pulled back and I growled, “You look amazing.” Piper laughed, “Melanie sent over clothes.” So my mother did. Melanie squeaked, “So… drinks then… meeting people…you’ll love everyone! Oh hey Cassie!”

Piper whispered, “I think your sister in law wanted me to meet your family.” I replied, “Given my parents are out there on the dance floor that’s exactly what’s happening.” Piper laughed, “Did you tell her about me?” I answered, “Yes.” Melanie had just already known, but I did tell Melanie things about Piper. Bernard teased, “We are so evasive.” Well, it was in my DNA.

Piper laughed, “She must have recognized me in class then.” Class? I looked at Alexander who smirked at me. I linked him, “Melanie is going to college?” Alexander replied, “She’s taking a class or two, P.” Oh my god. I asked, “She signed up to meet Piper, didn’t she?” Alexander inclined his head which meant yes. This was going to be a fun evening.

You're not shocked Julian and William were nearby are you? LOL I knew you wouldn't be. CJ and Nico are getting all the details from Sierra via Melanie. They have folders and are doing their research. Do you think CJ will find a way to pay Melanie for this date? It could be quite complicated.

All the soft things await Preston. Maybe he should try to get Piper to his house so she finds them and then doesn't want to leave. It's just a thought. She does have a super cool apartment though. Did you guess the house helpers were Supernaturals? :) Bernard is very into the robe that looks like Sora, shocking LOL

Preston had to take Piper back there to her nest often. Do we think that maybe this room was specfically for them? It seems like it was. Do you think Piper and Remi will "Break in" at some point? Preston did not care for Pernell's evasions. Karl fits in well with Julian, William, and Preston, which is not shocking. Karl is holding onto so many secrets. We know Piper's siblings names! A bit of p theme going on. Melanie had a source come for a meeting. Who is the only Kistune from the realm to have glimsped the Tenko family. Pernell did clock this man and probably went to talk to him since he'd know it was another Kitsune. Preston was going to call Piper to join them, but what do you know? Melanie already met and invited Remi and Piper. It's a family meeting :)
