Breaking and Entering Pt. 1

Piper was overwhelmed in the best way. I felt every sense of mine in overdrive. Preston was everywhere. The possession in his movements drove me wild. I was a little surprised I loved this so much. We didn’t even manage to get a single second of sleep. I nearly groaned when Preston pulled out. I wanted more. Gosh, I was crazy. I expected an argument in my own head but nothing happened. I wanted to groan in frustration. Why the f**k was I trying to get my own subconscious to argue to answer me. It was actually crazy. I felt an unnamed emotion when Preston said he was proud of me. What the hell was that? Tears even pricked my eyes. I was not crying because my boyfriend complimented my volleyball skills. I had a lot of medals and trophies that told me I was very good at volleyball. So, I needed to get it together. We got on the bus and two new coaches got on. I looked at Remi who was frowning. I whispered, “Uhh the analytics coach is missing.” The coach clapped, “I’m sure you noticed the bus looks different. Coach Nissel was fired last night.” My jaw dropped. The coach said, "Interviews are underway for a replacement. These two are Coaches Mauve and Jessnia. They are strength and conditioning coaches. A few teammates have left due to playing time.” Coach looked around the bus, “This is not a charity event. If you want on that floor, you earn it. I do not play favorites, politics, or anything else. I play what wins. If you want on the floor your stats better be telling the story. We do have two new teammates transferring in and you’ll see them this week. Great job this weekend! This was a great start to the season. Go Wolves!" The bus started towards the airport. I whispered to Remi, “Melanie got that coach fired?!?” Remi said, “Yeah, that's fishy. She was bad at her job, but Eric firing her this way says there is more to it.” I grumbled, “You could’ve mentioned he OWNED the university!” Remi grinned, “That’s publicly available information, babes.” I groaned, “This is all weird.” I asked, “What is?” Remi said, “The transfers and coach getting fired. I literally feel it.” Remi beamed, “Yeah, you do. Call your man when we get back. He will have more answers.” I admitted, “I’m exhausted.” Remi said, “Well, don’t sleep until we get to the plane. You’ll be a massive grump.” I barely managed to stay awake to the plan. We got on and I was out. I was running in a forest again. This time there was a screen. I asked, “What the f**k?” Then I saw myself saving a little boy. I made myself smaller and we got out of some creepy cave. Was that some other memory? Except I couldn’t make myself smaller. I saw the white, blue, and black animal again. I started to run to her, I got closer but not much. She was sleeping. I called, “Hey! Wake up!” That should wake up any animal, but nothing happened. I woke up when the wheels hit the tarmac and rubbed my eyes. Remi asked, “Are you good, Pipes?” I answered, “I’m fine.” We grabbed all our stuff. I asked, “Does your wolf look different from mine on our luggage?” One teammate laughed, “They look the same.” Someone else muttered, “Not theirs.” Mine was the most handsome one. Remi grinned, “They do look a little different, but I love it.” I did too actually. We got to our apartment and I called Preston. Something was definitely up. His tone wasn’t settled. What was going on? Remi shrugged but now she looked rather suspicious herself. Karl and Preston were obviously together and they smelled like a hint of blood. What? How did I know that? I sighed pouting at my subconscious, “Now, would be a GREAT time for you to chime the hell in! It will make me feel less crazy because I keep trying to TALK TO MYSELF!” Nothing but silence greeted me. UGH! Preston didn’t lie to me, and that made me happy. Fury filled every part of me because that horrible b***h was trying to sell Remi back to people who hurt her. That was NOT happening ever. I didn’t care what weird noise came out of me if it stopped it from happening. My stalker and her kidnappers family were joining forces? No. Uh huh. I was stopping that. Somehow. I needed a plan of attack. Preston stayed with me holding me while plans formed in my head. The next day at practice I noticed Jessnia was focused on me, and Mauve was the same with Remi. Not that they weren't training the other girls, they were. It’s just that their eyes followed us. The news had exploded with people who were missing being found and brought home. That tracked with what happened when Remi was found. Those assholes were still out there hurting people. In our next class with Melanie we had a new professor. The man cleared his throat, “I hear you’ve had an experience to start this class out, and I’d like to apologize for that. Here’s the thing, anyone can make a mistake with numbers. Some even go all the way to being published by reputable sources without ever being caught. Math done by hand or especially typing can cause an error.” “Heck, you might even have the math right and fat finger the number wrong. If you catch mine, I won’t be upset. I’ll thank you and correct it. Anyone can make a mistake, how your response tells more about you than the mistake itself.” I looked at Remi who smiled. I glanced back at Melanie who was already taking notes. This teacher was definitely better than the first one. He was using the corrected syllabus. When we left I told Remi, “I’ll catch up to you.” Remi raised an eyebrow, “I’ll stay with you.” I sighed, “Fine.” Melanie was clearly waiting for us. Melanie held her stuff tightly, “Well…look at us… being the last three in here.. .that’s so weird… and clearly not a plan…but us at all.” I snorted, “Yeah, I’ve got questions and I think you’re the one with answers.” Melanie replied, “I mean… not the only one but the one likely….to give away the answer…yes.” Remi laughed, “I love a self aware Queen.” I asked, “Jessnia and Mauve.” Melanie squeaked, “Your new… ummm coaches?” I answered, “Yeah, them. They aren’t coaches, are they?” Melanie hummed, “Well… they do know a lot about strength… and conditioning….and one could say… they were sort of baptized in the knowledge of volleyball….so… they…” I cut her off, “They are bodyguards, aren’t they?” Remi gasped, “Oh my god they totally are!” Melanie said, “They are trained….guards…so there is…” I cut her off, “Is Preston paying for them?” Melanie made a face, “That’s….not entirely accurate or inaccurate…that’s a complicated…answer.” I snorted, “What is the right way to say it then?” Melanie pursed her lips, “Well…umm…. You see…Preston’s…Uncle….does pay them….they are here because he told them to be…. But like technically Preston isn’t paying for them to be here….he was told they were here… he didn’t ask. He would’ve….he was stressed…he’d get there.” Remi piped in, “Who told them to put them here then?” Good question! Melanie looked at her laptop, “Umm… I don’t know?” I laughed, “You can’t ask a question when you lie!” Melanie said, “Everyone would’ve…done it…did I recommend it? I did….but other people thought it too…they just….would’ve waited…and I’m not really the waiting type…I had a whole paper…and Jessnia and Mauve….could totally come talk to us now.” Both women walked in the classroom, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Jessnia laughed, “Duchess, you are hilarious.” I shouted, “SHE IS A DUCHESS?!” Melanie said, “So.. yes…that’s….it’s a whole….a nickname?” I snorted, “For Melanie? Sure. Ok.” Mauve laughed, “I’m looking out for Remi and Jessnia is looking out for you.” She pointed at me. I said, “Well, thanks. It’s sweet of you to do because I’m dating Preston.” Jessnia replied, “I protect people, it’s what I do.” It felt more like it was her whole purpose. I asked Melanie, “Where did the other girls go that definitely didn’t transfer?” Melanie squeaked, “What? They … did transfer….there’s a whole school…and everything….that they… there is paperwork.” I rubbed my temples, “Are you going to transfer the whole team?” Melanie replied, “Well… no then you couldn’t play….unless other people were brought in.” I snorted, “The two transfers coming in, was that you?” Melanie squeaked, “I know people….and talent….and they also happen to not be so judgmental….or make me want to make them disappear….these all feel like great qualities… for teammates.” Remi busted up laughing. I grinned, “I’m going to enjoy talking to you every SINGLE time I have a question. Literally every time.” Melanie shrugged, “You definitely have more questions….that’s a thing.” I asked, “Why am I different from other people? I can tell everyone in this room isn’t like me, but they are. My coach isn’t like me or you for that matter.” Melanie agreed, “No… we are enhanced…and different…. We have extras.” I stared at her, “I had a dream that I helped a boy in a cave and made myself smaller.” Remi sucked in a breath. Melanie disagreed, “That’s…not a dream…it’s a memory…so that’s different.” I asked, “THAT HAPPENED?!” Remi said, “You saved a boy that lives in the same area I do.” I rubbed my temple, “Who is Brax?” Remi sighed, “This is that dickhead from the club’s fault.” I snorted, “Is he dead?” Melanie hummed, “I mean….” I cut her off, “Yeah, I got it. Brax.” Melanie said, “Brax…is Braxton…and I’m bringing him here with Beckett….so you’ll meet them both…. Well you know Beckett…you know them both…just one in a different way.” I snorted, “I don’t think that’s a good idea since I clearly have carnal knowledge of Brax and Preston is a touch possessive.” Melanie waved, “It’s totally fine…I’m pretty sure I know both of their people.” I asked, “Their people?” Melanie nodded, “Like my Xander….your Preston….and her Karl. So…” Remi gasped, “YOU THINK YOU KNOW MY BROTHER’S PERSON?! Oh my god, he’s today.” Melanie said, “He can’t…his person is busy…but he is coming….there’s a picnic….and everything.” I asked, “A picnic? That’s fun.” Melanie grinned, “Yeah….so it’s going to be good.” I nodded, “Do you know Sora?” Remi flinched. Melanie answered, “I never met her.” I reasoned, “You know who it is though.” Melanie replied, “If you think about it….you know some things too.” I thought about it and then said, “Sora is really important to me.” Melanie agreed, “Yes…vital even.” I sighed, “Where is she?” Melanie asked, “Where do you think…Sora is?” I admitted, “Unreachable.” Melanie encouraged, “But….” Remi squealed, “She knew there was a but. I love her.” I rubbed my face, “She’s nearby though. Right?” Melanie nodded, “Yes…that’s all very accurate.” I sighed in relief and actually had to sit down. Melanie squeezed my hand, “Sora will never be far away from you.” I cried, “Where is she? I miss her and I don’t know her.” Melanie disagreed, “You do know her… you don’t remember… but in your very soul….you know her.” I thought about and realized Melanie was right. Melanie admitted, “I get it…more than most people probably…I felt empty and devoid of pieces essential to me. The person I was missing was Freya…and just like Sora….it wasn’t that she was far away. I just couldn’t reach her….and she couldn’t reach me.” I wiped my tears, “Did it work out?” Melanie nodded, “Yes…it too longer for me….than it will for you…I had a whole situation….but I do understand…and obviously I talk a lot so if you want to….talk…I’m here…and we could really talk about anything…I know a lot about a broad range of topics.” I laughed, “I believe that.” Melanie whispered, “Sora will never leave you…Piper…not really.” A sob burst out of my chest and Remi quickly hugged me. I admitted, “I don’t know why I’m crying.” Melanie shrugged, “Sometimes…you just need to cry.” I wiped my tears and whispered, “Thank you.” Melanie blinked like she had no idea why I was thanking her but replied “Uhh… no problem?” Oh my god this girl was so funny. I left and went back to our apartment. Finnick was standing there with a new guy. Remi asked, “Are you training?” Finnick answered, “No, this is your new chef.” I stopped walking, “Our who now?” The man smiled, “I’m Auguste and my wife Marie will also be helping out. Here is our card. We have a full space below yours and will bring up meals and pack them when necessary.” Remi shouted, “SHUT UP WE HAVE A FRENCH CHEF!” Auguste threw his head back and laughed, “I moved here over a decade ago, but I am from France.” I asked, “Who on earth got…?” I snorted, “Melanie and Preston.” Auguste winked, “I owe Melanie a very large favor. I told her this does not count because I’m getting paid. The living accommodations and kitchen we have access to are quite literally a dream.” Remi squealed, “No more cafeteria meals for us! MY PETTY TAX IS LIVING THE ACTUAL HIGH LIFE!” Auguste made a face, “Yes, that cafeteria food is not up to snuff. I actually winced when Melanie sent me their menu. It’s not suitable for what you two will be needing.” Yet we’d been just fine. I went upstairs and sat in my room. For some reason I stared at my phone case then my robe. I whispered, “I miss you, Sora. I really do.” Things settled into a routine. I made plans on how to get answers. It was easier since Remi, Preston, Melanie, and even Karl were onboard with the new way of telling me things. The new transfers were good players and they were nice. They practically treated Remi and me like celebrities at first. They settled in though. I finally got a chance to read more of my Irish mafia story on the bus. I was furious by the time we got off the bus. Remi asked, “Dude, who pissed in your gourmet chef’s meal?” I snorted, “Siobhan.” Remi threw her head back and laughed, “You’re walking into a game pissed off because of a made up grandma?” I made that noise of anger, “She’s SUCH a b***h!” Remi asked, “Where are you?” I admitted, “They just met her and she was rude. God, if Miley dies I’m going to actually cry.” Remi gasped, “STOP TRYING TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN! MY SOUL SISTER IS JUST FINE! Also, buckle up because Siobhan is still awful where I am.” One girl asked, “What are you guys talking about?” Remi answered, “This book we are reading.” Another one squealed, “BOOK CLUB! OH MY GOD, YES! What kind of book?” I answered, “Mob.” One girl grimaced, “I don’t like those.” Remi said, “Well, that’s ok. Maybe we’ll catch you on the next one.” She nodded enthusiastically. Another said, “Give me all the morally gray men. I love the ones where they kill for their women.” I warned, “It’s dual POV every chapter, which I enjoy but that’s not for everyone.” One girl screamed, “YOU GET THE MMC’S POV THE WHOLE BOOK?! SHUT UP! GIVE ME THE TITLE SAY SO MUCH LESS!” I laughed, “The Future Don and His Hidden Princess.” Several people downloaded it and we went inside. I smiled because Preston was here. Hadley, my new teammate, nudged me, “That man is gone over for you, chickadee. He’s the only one here besides her man.” Karl ran over and talked to Remi as we were walking to the locker room. He kissed her then left. I asked, “What happened?” Remi said, “There’s a lead on that deal with those bad people. Karl’s running it down with my family, his, and some extra people sent by your man.” I pointed out, “Preston’s looking very calm considering.” Remi admitted, “I don’t know if he knows.” We came out and treated this as a game. Our new analytics coach was the only man on the team. So, Melanie definitely wasn’t sexist handing over her candidates. After the second match, he talked to us. “Hey girls, my name is Mark. Sorry, we didn’t get to do big introductions. I got the job and came right here for the game. I’m excited for this opportunity and to work with each of you. The other team is currently putting both their angle backrow plays on the line expecting their block to take away the angle.” “The middle of the court is open and their middle hitter is late so there is a hole in the block. It’s far too quiet on this court for me. I need all of you to talk more about the holes you see in real time to each other.” We all nodded and got back on the floor. We all collectively made an effort to call out holes when we saw them and we won. The bus ride passed in a flash. I pulled out the snack food Auguste had made. Honestly, I was getting spoiled with this whole personal chef thing. When we made it back I heard Preston coming down the stairs at a rapid pace. Remi snorted, “Noise cancelling headphones here I come.” I asked, “What?” Preston’s lips were on mine before I even saw him really. I moaned into his mouth. The growl that ripped out of my boyfriend was actually feral. A wave of excitement ripped through me like I couldn’t understand. Preston growled, “MINE!” I agreed, "Definitely." Preston yanked my shorts down. I gasped, “Preston! Remi is…” Preston replied, “In her room.” Then he slid into me, “f**k, you feel so tight and hot.” I moaned, “Preston.” He growled and started nipping all over my body. Another feral sounding growl ripped out of him when he looked at the wolf on my practice shirt. Preston pulled out of me then practically threw me in the air. I shrieked when he caught me on his face. I reached wide into the air that could not help me, as he started to eat me out. What in the actual hell?! I settled on holding his hair in a vice grip and wildly bucking my hips, digging my ankles into his back as I came. Apparently thinking I could fall and smack my head off the ground was hot to me. Which was odd considering I had the whole traumatic brain injury deal thing going on. Maybe that was my problem. I was a thrill seeker. Did I care? Nope, not one bit. Preston got me to my room in what felt like a blink. I admitted, “I didn’t even feel us on the stars. Damn you give such good orgasms.” Preston seemed past words because he grunted and attacked my mouth again. The man was utterly insatiable. We went through positions that had my mind boggled, but that could be because I could barely process anything. When we stopped we both passed out. I nuzzled into Preston and my cozy blanket. We should definitely shower, but I couldn’t bring myself to. When I woke up to the smell of amazing food. Preston had the food up in my room. He looked worried, “Are you ok?” I laughed, “I’m fine. I thought I would be sore, but I’m really not.” Preston nuzzled me, “Sorry, I was…” I finished, “Insatiable in the best way. You didn’t really seem like words were possible.” Preston actually blushed, “Yeah, that was very intense.” I asked, “Why?” Preston replied, “So, my family and I are different.” I nodded. Preston said, “We are very tightly connected and their feelings can bleed into mine and override my senses, especially when it’s all of us.” I grinned, ‘Well, it was fun. Let’s do it again.” Preston laughed, “It’s definitely going to happen again.” He fed me and we got in the bathtub together. Preston and I went downstairs and found Karl and Remi. I asked, “Karl, how did that thing go?” Preston asked, “What thing?” Karl said, “We found more of them, but not the one after Remi. It was a possibly but the sibling we found didn’t want Remi. He was more into me.”
