I admitted, “I kind of put Anastasia and Valentina on the case.” Remi asked, “Say what now?” I explained, “Hey, they don’t get away with doing that to you. I know you’re a bad ass with amour they can’t pierce. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to let that go. They tried to make you insecure about Karl and that’s not happening on my watch.”

Remi cackled, “So, you put Valentina and Anastasia on pranking our teammates?” I winced, “They kind of sounded like they might kill one or two, which I acknowledge should upset me. I might go to jail, but I will for you.”

Remi waved, “If you’re in jail, my ass would be sitting right beside you saying, ‘it was a hell of a ride though.’ Because I’ll bury anybody for you girl.” I hugged her, “I love you so much, Remi.” Remi hugged me tightly, “I love you too.”

I admitted, “I don’t know what I did to deserve a friend like you, but I’ll always have your back. Even if that means I employ two murderous friends of ours to get people.” Remi laughed, “Tally ho!” She pointed, “That forest is for you and your man. Make him hunt you down and have another battle.”

I admitted, “I don’t know where that leads.” Remi replied, “To pound town, that’s where it leads.” I laughed and jumped onto the dock. I admitted, “Our coach would kill me if she knew I did that.” Remi turned the wheel, “She’ll never know.”

I watched her for a second and admitted, “That boat seems very magical. There is literally no way to get that boat on a lake or out. Where did this lake even come from? You know what? We are not questioning things today. That’s not what we are doing. We are going to have another sexy light saber fight once Preston finds us.” Too bad for him, I’m an excellent hider.

I took off and nearly stopped to marvel at the fog that should not be here but decided to go with it. Who cared that this made literally no sense? Not me. This place was fun. I even smiled as I touched a tree. This looked like a scary movie, but it was honestly amazing. Well, the pirate ship had been too.

The sails were glitter and in the shape of leaves. Maybe the boat was Melanie’s and she was testing it for some role play thing at her secret house place. That could be cool. Focus, Piper. I ended up running for several miles.

I heard Preston chuckled, “You can run, but I can smell you love.” I shivered mentally warning my ovaries, “Now is not the time to gush. We are role playing, god damn it!” I decided to climb a tree and wait for him to come down.

I kept hearing a loud pop, but I wasn’t sure what on earth that was. Then I saw my man, but I was covered by the tree. I bent down, ready to jump. My coach would absolutely throw an actual fit if I hurt myself doing that. I’d have to lie about how I got injured.

I was confident in myself though. I could do this without getting hurt. Why did I think that? Maybe the promise of s*x was too much because logically, I should. Logic wasn’t winning though. Maybe my brain injury was making me brave. Honestly, it was about time something about this ordeal worked for me.

Preston chuckled, “Come out, love.” I waited until he walked forward then jumped down, landed,, and lit up my light saber again. My boyfriend whirled and blocked my shot and circled each other.

Preston asked, “Do you know I love all these movies?” I winked, “So, do I. Apparently a bit since I can do tricks with this saber. My hands remember the moves, even if I don’t.” Preston asked, “Oh, yeah? So if I come here.” He moved his feet and raised his saber.

I moved to block and changed my steps. Preston praised, “Good girl.” Unfair. That was just another level of cheating. That’s what that was, when you thought about it. Instincts took over me and I turned to run.

Preston laughed and I heard him following me. I could hear running water and went toward it. My jaw dropped when I came around the corner. There was a covered arch inside a little pond area with a bed hanging from the ceiling, hovering just above the ground.

I heard Preston’s feet and took off for it. Haley was officially amazing. This whole thing was actually crazy. I made it over to the bed and touched the blanket. I nearly purred because the damn thing was so soft. There were lanterns and a card in the middle of the bed. I picked it up and read the note.

Piper,

Every good chase must come to an end, I couldn’t have you guys stuck with no bed. Though I’m sure you’d both be fine in the forest without it. This seemed more appropriate and sexy. This is your bad girl lair.

Have fun ;) A light saber fight into bed never hurt anyone.

I nearly laughed out loud then turned and blocked a shot coming from Preston. I teased, “Cheater.” Preston asked, “How was I cheating? You got distracted.” I asked, “Is this normal for you mom with your girlfriends? Because I have to admit this is an excellent use of the money you all clearly have. Some might call it unnecessary, but not me.”

Preston said, “No, my mom only does things like this with the significant others we know are forever.” I whispered, “P.” Preston winked, “We do go all out on dates, but things like this are reserved.” Then he grabbed my arm and I dropped the saber when he gently squeezed. I could’ve gotten out of his hold, but then my ovaries might actually cause me pain.

I jumped into his arms making him drop his and attacked his lips. I moaned, “Preston.” He growled, “MINE!” He turned and fell back onto the bed, which swayed from the impact. I wiggled my eyebrow, “Let’s wreck this bed.” Preston chuckled, “Whatever you want, love.” This had really ended up being a great day.

Achelous has stepped in to let Piper see some things in the past. We see the Ninko's working with Valdoma and the Harpy Seer to get the Rhoades out. Kenko's boyfriend obviously met his mate and Kenko went to take a second and got kidnapped. We saw Pernell in captivity. Piper is upset that her subconscious won't answer her. Obviously we know that's Sora, but she doesn't. She thinks Sora is fox, I'm sure that won't be a problem later LOL

Nathan McD has stepped in to help because he can as an Alpha type. Pernell and Piper's heart to heart was needed and necessary. Pernell is done making excuses. He's just being their for Piper as he can.
