New Insight Pt. 1

Preston is Sixteen Preston was having a year. Willam and Julian were with me in the Hackura realm. William asked, “P, what’s wrong?” I answered, “Let’s see, we know what all those comments about mom mean. Those f*****g dickhead HURT MOM! MOM! Of all the people on the planet they took the purest one and hurt her. Not tried, they did.” I scoffed, “Faerie of ALL THE REALMS kept secrets. Even other Supernaturals that knew didn’t tell.” Julian offered, “That sounds like there is something to do. There are Fairies that didn’t die that knew other Supernaturals who knew. I bet our family focused on the Fairies and their sources. Other people knew.” I conceded, “Excellent point.” Bernard, my wolf, growled, “We need to get them for mom.” Yeah, we did. William asked, “What’s the rest, P?” I answered, “Something is up with Alexander and we all know it.” Julian offered, “He’s a squadron leader now.” I growled, “That is about Cas and no one is saying why.” Bernard agreed, “It’s definitely about Rain.” William shrugged, “So, we will find that out too. Our summer is shaping up to be quite busy. Which is good because we don’t like being bored. It’s a win win for us really.” Julian prodded, “And?” I growled, “Fine! I don’t understand why Alexander’s deepest fear changed.” William asked, “When did it change?” I answered, “When he was fourteen but it just keeps growing.” Julian urged, “Talk to him.” Bernard agreed, “We should talk to Oden.” Oden might give answers. Alexander was so tight lipped EJ had barely gotten an answer about what was bugging Alexander. That was recent too. I grumbled, “EJ and Cassie know what’s bothering him, but he just admitted it. If I could figure out what is going on with him, I could fix it.” William interjected, “We but ok” I rolled my eyes, “Fine, we.” Julian chuckled, “I know there’s still more bothering you.” William replied, “Same.” I sighed, “Well, I don’t like the new pack member in Yellow Hills. Keaton is acting weird.” He was twelve but we were close friends. William prodded, “Annnnd?” I groaned, “Will you two quit needling me?” Julian answered, “That doesn't like any fun. Or my personality. We’ve let this fester and EJ and Cassie showed we clearly need to poke and prod until a sibling explodes with a secret.” I snorted, “So go figure out why the hell Alexander became a Squadron Leader! It’s about Cass. I’m pretty sure it's about that Cora b***h too.” Julian laughed, “Corbin and his siblings have been cursing her things, so it’s definitely her. “ I gasped, “What?” Julian grinned, “Right? I happened to overhear someone say that.” I said, “Then we should get her too.” William agreed, “Easily doable. So our list is getting someone who is not a Fairy who knows about what happened to our mother, Cora, getting Keaton to join us, figuring out Alexander’s deepest fear and fixing it, and….” He trailed off. I groaned, “It’s silly.” William replied, “We don’t care.” I huffed, “I’ve read all the books in Faerie on Kitsunes.” Julian instantly realized the problem, “Ah, and you love them so much you wanted there to be more books.” I blushed, “See? It’s silly.” Bernard argued, “It’s not silly. I’m upset about it myself. I like the ones with blue tails.” I snorted, “The Royals then.” The line of the Tenko’s had blue in their fur. The Crown Prince or Princess was usually white, black, and blue. There were exceptions. The Kitsunes were fascinating to me. Queen’s or King’s mated in were usually white and red, but that varied. Julian offered, “I don’t think it’s silly. You are drawn to Kitsunes.” I snorted, “They only talk to Hetti.” I wanted to meet them, but they didn’t want to meet me. William questioned, “You asked to meet them and they said no?” I shrugged, “I asked Hetti but they have some threat they are minimizing threats because of.” Julian grinned, “Another task.” I groaned, “Oh no. What are you thinking?” Bernard insisted, “Let him say his plan. I already like it.” I rolled my eyes at my wolf. Julian said, “We spy on Hetti and Rex. Maybe we can find out about the threat and neutralize it.” I snorted, “Kitsunes have specific enemies.” William grinned, “Look at that, we already have a leg up. What are their specific enemies?” I answered, “No one we have ever come across.” Julian teased, “Gosh, if we only asked for evasive answers, William.” William joked back, “Or we were the kind of people to give up after such an evasion.” Bernard encouraged me, “Answer them.” I explained, “Ninko’s are their main enemies. Uncle Aiden’s books say that they used their abilities for evil. They are also a bit like Hunter’s.” Julian growled but William frowned. I grabbed our bond and questioned, “Brother?” William sighed, “I just don’t think Hunters can be all bad. Ok?” I blinked several times with Julian. Bernard said, “Titan agrees with him.” I wasn’t shocked my brother and his wolf agreed. I asked, “What about Lief?” Uncle Leif Cambridge loved that Julian’s wolf carried his name. Bernard admitted, “He’s shocked by what Titan’s saying.” I asked William, “Why?” Julian shot me a look. I asked, “What? It’s a good question.” Julian huffed, “Oh god. Wes has got you going on Beta lessons with Dylan.” Bernard laughed, “Fang will be so pleased.” Dylan Frost would’ve asked a much more direct and succinct question. William asked, “What group have we come up against that doesn’t have some good people?” I paused, then admitted, “Ok, that’s a valid point.” Julian sighed, “Sure. Regardless of personal feelings I want them all to leave us alone, I will trust your instinct William.” William grinned at us, “Thanks guys.” I didn’t know that there was anything I could do to make him feel better about that. Wolves would kill Hunters first and ask questions later. Bernard offered, “Only if they are hunting.” True. We’d never just passed a Hunter on the street. Julian changed the subject, “How do we find someone everyone missed about mom’s situation?” I grinned and popped to get Keaton and came back with him. Keaton greeted, “Hi, P. I was going to meet…” I cut him off, “We really need you.” Keaton grinned, “Yeah? What’s up?” I explained, “We need you to look at some files and tell us who you think would’ve kept secrets.” Keaton asked, “About what?” I answered, “That’s complicated. I just want you to go through some files and note non-Fairies you think might have crossed paths with my mom as a child.” Keaton laughed, “That’s vague. It could take all day.” Bernard muttered, “Good. It will keep him away from that new girlfriend.” I told him, “It’s really important to us and you’re great at spotting things like that.” Keaton blushed, “Alright. Where are the files?” Julian conjured some from Uncle Aiden’s office. William and I both glanced at him. Julian’s Faerie powers were strong but to call files from Uncle Aiden’s office was quite the feat. Keaton asked, “What’s with the look?” I admitted, “I thought we were going to have to physically take those. Julian’s powers are increasingly impressive.” Julian snorted, “My Fae powers.” Except we all had those, but he managed to get these. Bernard asked, “What other ability could it be?” My wolf made a valid point. Wolves were strong and shifted into wolves. Hackura opened portals and were strong. We didn’t have other powers. I shook myself out of those thoughts. Keaton said, “Alright, I’ll get started. I linked my dad I was with you guys.” I conjured him a desk and a chair. Keaton laughed, “Thanks, P.” I squeezed his shoulder, “I know you can find what we need.” Keaton winced, “I’m not so sure. This is a really vague request.” I winked, “I believe in you, man.” Keaton used to have more confidence. Bernard growled, “Yes, because Lisa is bad for him.” She was. Keaton blushed but bobbed his head. Julian reached and popped us away. William asked, “What in the hell was that?” Julian answered, “Weird is what it was. Keaton a few months ago would’ve asked for less details and been super confident in his ability to find what we needed.” I growled, “That Lisa chick is bad for his confidence.” William questioned, “Have you met her yet?” Bernard growled in my head. I answered, “No, she never wants to meet us.” Julian laughed, “What? A she wolf who doesn’t want to meet us? I smell a rat.” I agreed, “So do Bernard and me. It’s weird because, not to brag, but people trip over themselves to meet us. This girl hides from mom and refuses to meet me.” Julian asked, “Well, what does everyone else say about her?” Bernard scoffed, “The wolves hate her.” I knew that. I admitted, “From what the wolves in Yellow Hills tell Bernard they hate that pup. From what I’ve heard from Keaton’s family, they loathe them.” Julian frowned, “Yet Keaton is dating her?” William shrugged, “The you against the world feeling can be hot.” We both glanced at him. William sighed, “I’m not dating anyone.” I muttered, “You’re making me think you’re seeing a Huntress or some s**t, brother.” William replied, “I’m not.” Relief filled me, which he caught. Julian asked, “Then what the hell, William?” William answered, “I hear all the human girls talking about that. The head cheerleader at our school is dating the guy everyone hates.” I replied, “Because he’s bad for her.” William replied, “I’m tempted to step in because the girls in my English class think he’s abusive.” I glanced at Julian, “The list grows. Why have you kept that secret since school ended?” Julian answered for William, “He thought when school ended they’d break up.” William grumbled, “Humans break up all the time!” I agreed, “That’s fair. Now, we have to involve Cassie and make that guy tell the truth.” Julian asked gently, “William, do you like the cheerleader?” I snorted, “No, he likes her former best friend. They make out under the bleachers.” Julian gasped, “NO!” I laughed, “Yeah, I spotted them on the last day of school.” William shot me an unamused look that had me winking at him. Bernard snorted, “Titan is not happy that I didn’t give him a head’s up on that.” I nudged Julian, “I can’t believe you even asked. If he liked that girl, he’d have beat the s**t out of her boyfriend.” William replied, “I’ve been trying to prove whether it was true or not. I can’t just beat a human. I could kill him, easily.” I asked, “What have you found?" William admitted, “Nothing but it feels off. Now, with hearing about mom I think I should’ve just killed him.” I shrugged, “That’s easily corrected. We will just get you proof.” Julian said, “Yeah, let’s learn from our oldest sibling groups big blow up where secrets were demanded by EJ. That we still don’t know, which is not the point. We don't need to keep secrets between us three. Clearly it will boil up.” I asked, “Where did we get on why Wes hit T?” It had been weird. William snorted, “Or Alexander decking Jase? I don’t know but it’s definitely an issue with Red Run.” Bernard admitted, “I didn’t get anything from the wolves.” I asked, “Then why is Alexander still friends with Jase?” William said, “Wes isn’t going near them though.” I pointed out, “It’s not like they are good friends. Wes is closer with Blue Moon pack members, for obvious reasons.” His mate, Buttercup Frost, lived there. William agreed, “Which makes it about Alexander.” I groaned, “Yet Alexander is still friends with Jase.” William offered, “That brings up back to our original conclusion.” Julian agreed, “It does.” Bernard said, “Preston.” I told him, “It doesn’t make sense.” Bernard admitted, “It does and it doesn’t.” William asked, “P?” I groaned, “It doesn’t make sense. I think they are why Alexander’s deepest fear changed, but I can’t figure out the whole of it. The answer is right there. I can feel it, I just can’t grasp it.” Julian reasoned, “Alexander could easily be offended because Jase is his friend and they keep lying about Melanie crossing the border.” I snorted, “She got all the way to New York.” William reasoned, “The Warriors let her go with that family.” I pointed out, “Yes, and that’s weird. Admit it is weird. That after FOURTEEN YEARS they let her go compete and now she’s staying there? Red Run has no chill about that girl and suddenly she’s just a New Yorker that never comes home. They are all just utterly chill about that. That pack lied to us about why she couldn't meet anyone. Now, she’s jet setting in New York?!” William pointed out, “They don’t have a choice, but they are upset.” I snorted, “If we took off to New York without our parents knowing with the intent to stay we’d be in some s**t. Also, our parents could tell us to come home for breaks. Or WHENEVER the hell they wanted. There are Fairies and the Richards are straight up weird when you ask them about popping to get her.” Julian conceded, “Ok, that’s true. I asked Jared about it and he got tweaky, weird and walked off.” William said, “Ok, but the problem here has to be Alexander is upset about the lies because Jase is his friend.” I shrugged, “But why?” William answered, “It’s insulting they think we believe those excuses. As Jase’s friend that irks Alexander more.” Bernard offered, “They have a point, but you know I agree with you. There had to be more there to it.” Yes, I knew that. Julian surprised, “You think there’s more to it, and the fact you don’t know what it is bothers you.” I agreed, “It does. Because I feel like there’s one piece of information that will make this all make sense.” Dad linked, “I need to talk to you, Julian, and William.” I asked, “Did dad just link you guys?” They both nodded. Bernard said, “Thor linked me too.” We all popped to my dad who was in the office with whiskey. Dad inclined his head and we all grabbed one. Dad said, “You guys are planning things and you’re angry. So, I need to know what’s going on.” Julian replied, “We plan things all the time.” Dad agreed, “You do; however, Alpha bloods learning what you did about your mother’s childhood is upsetting.” William growled, “Let’s not forget her getting kidnapped by a damn Vampire while pregnant.” We all growled. Bernard said, “They should all burn in hell.” Yes, they should and Iblis would see to that. Dad inclined his head, “Yes. I know you pulled Keaton in for something. What is it?” I evaded, “We plan to pull in Cass too.” If anything could get us off the hook here, it was that. Dad snorted, “Son, I practically have a PHD in evasions at this point.” Bernard grumbled, “Thor called me on that too.” Well, that was ridiculous. My wolf didn’t say it, I did. I said, “We have things we want to solve. Keaton is looking into things making sure nothing was missed. Before that, we are joining the Warlock and Hackura bloods in the family on getting a certain b***h for upsetting our sister.” Dad chuckled, “You’d be joining your mother as well.” I gasped, “Mom is getting Cora?!” Dad growled, “Your mother calls her Corursula.” William sputtered out a laugh. Dad asked, “Is that all? Or is now where we talk about William’s investigation into a human.” William groaned, “How did you know, dad?” Dad smirked and swirled his whiskey. I waved, “Cass will be involved with the human. If we need our sixes covered we’ll link you. The human may or may not die.” Dad sighed and sat his whiskey down, waiting. Julian replied, “It’s justified.” Dad offered, “It might be, but given all the emotions you're dealing with I need you to run it by me since this involves humans.” I asked, “So, if we find Supernatural blood in his woodpile all is well?” Dad growled, “No, but you knew that smart ass.” I smirked at him. William said, “I’m looking into him because the girl I hook up with and am semi dating said she thinks he’s abusing her friend.” Dad inclined his head, “You could’ve come to me. I would’ve looked into it.” I gasped, “NO! Dad knew about your cheerleader too!” Dad laughed, “Boys, there is not much I do not know about involving you pups.” I shot back, “So, what’s wrong with Alexander?” Dad evenly replied, “Ask your older brother.” Julian groaned, “Gosh, why didn’t we think of that?” Dad laughed, “You pups and your sarcasm. Should you find someone in those files Keaton is looking at, you’d better bring me.” Bernard said, “Thor is adamant about that.” William whispered, “Damn. He knows everything.” Dad agreed, “I do. Get used to it. Now, we are going to shift and run then you go one with your day. If you are going to kill someone, you will pop and bring me. Particularly if they hurt your mother. If you kill Corursula make it look like an accident. No one would ever suspect you three.” Bernard snorted, “I definitely should kill that girl that upset our sister.” Cora was long since considered a woman, but we hated her. Julian teased, “Should you give us permission to kill a Hackura?” Dad said, “As your father, Alpha, and Prince of the Hackura I’m positive I told you to make it look like an accident.” I busted up laughing. William grabbed dad and popped. We joined them outside and shifted. Bernard played a little with Thor, Lief, and Titan. Oden joined us. Alexander linked, “What’s up with you guys?” I replied, “I’ll tell you if you tell me.” Alexander growled, “Little brother, you’re primed to kill. If you do that, you do so with me behind you.” I snarked, “Ok, dad.” Oden tackled Bernard and growled. Alexander replied, “You can be mad at me, but you can do it while I have your damn six.” Thor barked at us both and we kept running. Julian linked, “What did you say that had Oden talking to you?” Bernard snorted, “That was me, not you. Alexander would’ve had us in the Ring to talk it over.” I asked, “What did you say?” Bernard replied, “That he had his secrets and couldn’t have our back until we knew his.” Well, Alexander wouldn’t agree to that nor would Oden. When we reached the house Alexander linked, “Hang back, P.” I linked Julian and William, “I’ll link you when it’s time to go. Alexander wants to talk.” Both nodded and I shifted back, snapping clothes on. Alexander said, “P…” I interrupted, “You’re keeping secrets and I can’t figure them out.” Alexander replied, “I’m trying to work through it. My problems are not yours to solve.” I replied, “You don’t tell me when you’re killing people." Alexander reasoned, “I tell EJ. I’m an Enforcer, little brother. I won’t get in your way, I will simply make sure your six is covered.” I snorted, “That’s because you don’t know what we are doing. You’d explode heads and then we’d have nothing.” Alexander replied, “No, I would let you do what you needed. This is your lead and you need it. I needed to kill for weeks after I learned about what happened to mom. I killed a lot of rogues. A lot. Dad found them for me too.” I sighed, “I’m just so frustrated and on edge.” Alexander inclined his head, “I understand that. I’m already proud of whatever you have little Daniels looking into.” I grumbled, “Does everyone know about that?” Alexander snorted, “The Warriors running patrol complained about his girlfriend’s shrieking that they heard on the border about it. So, yes a lot of people know you pulled Keaton into something.” I groaned, “Ugh, I hate her.” Mom called, “Me f*****g too. I’m not surprised Lishriekra is hurting the wolves ears.” Alexander kissed her on top of the head. My brother hugged me, linking, “Just let me have your six. I will always let you do what you need to do.” I replied, “Ok.” Mom hugged me next. Mom pulled back, “f**k face piss heads run rampant and it’s ok to kill them. Even if they are human. The humans honestly defuckingserve our protection from people. Their laws barely help them in cases of abuse until someone is dead. That’s barely helping and does nothing for the dead, just those that would suffer later.”
