“I am so serious with you, Mallory.” Alistair said so calmly while looking at me intently and seriously.
As soon as I heard his words, my heartbeat accelerated inside my chest like I was placed in a catapult and I was flying forward in a rush, and I felt a wave of emotions flood through me. Suddenly, I had butterflies in my stomach and an unexpected and very unanticipated flush of warmth and excitement across my cheeks.
His tone and manner of speaking made my heart skip a beat, and I could not help but be excited and happy when I heard him speak. Though I was eager and nervous, a bit too anxious about the future of our ‘whatever’ relationship, I was ecstatic at the prospect of going on more dates with him.
