The atmosphere was filled with good vibes, the evening was spent in an amiable and friendly manner, and everyone was feeling content and comfortable, sharing food, stories, and jokes together. Alastair’s family showed a genuine interest in getting to know Mallory better. Even though she was surrounded by his kind grandparents, wonderful parents and his calm older brother, Mallory became more comfortable throughout dinner as they were sharing jokes and serious conversation which Mallory never felt out of place. Alistair would let her feel involved in the conversation, or if Geoffrey, his father, would talk about work and politics, his mother and his grandmother would speak with Mallory in a more relatable topic for her, so she would be involved.
