Chapter Seven:
Selene had never felt like this before.
Darius had spent the entire night devouring her.
Not just her body—her mind, her soul.
He had kissed her like he wanted to consume her. Tangled her in his sheets, in his arms, in his world.
Now, she lay in his bed, her bare skin still burning with his touch, her heart pounding with something dangerous.
Darius lay beside her, golden eyes heavy-lidded and dark, his fingers lazily tracing patterns on her waist.
Selene felt weightless. Whole.
She had won. He was hers.
“Mine,” she whispered, daring to say it out loud.
Darius stilled.
Then, slowly, a smirk curled on his lips.
He shifted closer, his body pressing into hers, his heat overwhelming.
“Mine,” he corrected.
His teeth grazed her lower lip, a warning, a reminder. A promise.
Selene’s breath hitched.
She should argue. Should fight.
But when Darius’s hand slid up her throat, tilting her chin so she had no choice but to look into his eyes—
She didn’t resist.
Darius chuckled, deep and knowing.
“You think you’ve won,” he murmured.
Selene’s stomach twisted. A flicker of unease.
Darius’s fingers trailed lower, slow, possessive. “But you’ve only just fallen.”
Selene’s heart pounded.
Because she knew—**deep down, in the part of her that still tried to resist him—**that he was right.
She was trapped.
And the worst part?
She didn’t want to leave.

Meanwhile…
Lilith stood at the entrance of the great hall, her filthy Omega rags hanging off her frail frame.
The pack was gathered for a feast.
Laughing. Celebrating.
None of them looked at her.
They should have.
Her fingers curled around the blade hidden in her sleeve.
She had waited long enough.
She had listened to them whisper.
Selene and Darius. Together.
The mate bond sealed.
Her replacement was complete.
Something inside Lilith snapped.
The madness had been simmering, quiet, patient.
No more.
She stepped forward.
And when she spoke, her voice echoed like a ghost’s whisper.
“You all forgot me.”
Silence.
Heads turned.
Lilith lifted her gaze—and smiled.
“You shouldn’t have.”
