Julie stepped out of the company to board a bus. When the bus arrived, she hopped in. She eyed an empty seat and sat on it. She was quiet and was looking through the window. "You are going to work for one year without pay… you would start as my errand girl." Those words echoed in her ears all over again. "The audacity! Telling me that I would be his errand girl. I'm a freelancer. He is not the boss of me. I am the boss of myself." Julie whispered under her breath. "I wish I could turn the hands of time. Next time I will subject myself to self-control." She continued. She boiled with anger. She picked up her phone and dialed Bruce's number. "Hello…?" Bruce answered. "…Bruce, you have induced so much pain into me since yesterday. I don't deserve this. All I have done is nothing but love, support and treasure you. However, this is how you choose to pay me. …But I swear on my life, Bruce. I swear I won't let this slide. I will pay you both in your coins. Goodbye." She spoke so sternly. As she ended the call, she was breathing fast, sweating profusely. Her head was banging due to anguish. Hot premium tears flowed down her cheeks. She was feeling so many emotions all at once. When it was time to alight at the bus stop, she wiped her face with her handkerchief, picked up her bag and hopped down. Subsequently, she flagged down a taxi, entered and said, "Take me home." **************************************************** "Rinngggg" goes the alarm. Julie startled up from sleep. It was 6: a.m. sharp. Was it too early or too late? She didn't know. She rubbed her eyes to clear off the sleep. What a weekend! She got up from bed to search for what to wear. As she did, her body ached due to all the stress of the weekend. She did some stretches and her bones cracked. "Does that mean I have resumed a 9-5 job–one without pay?" She heaved a sigh. She settled for a pink blouse and a dark skirt with flats. She went to the bathroom, had her bath, brushed her teeth and got dressed. She went downstairs to eat. It was all already breakfast time. "Good morning my dear parents. " "Good morning, sunshine. You're up early." Her mother replied. "Well, I guess I have got a new job now. One without pay." Julie said. "You got a new job? You never told us." Her father asked. " It happened that the owner of the Rolls-Royce is a billionaire CEO. So he came up with two options; either I order a new bumper from the Rolls-Royce company and get it installed in under one month or I work for him for one year without pay. And we all know that the first option is not feasible." "Wow! That is so mean.".Mrs Thompson reacted." "All this because of that jerk, mummy. He is going to pay big time." Julie said and bit her lips. "Daughter, please try not to behave irrationally. Be on your best behavior, just as we raised you. And you never can tell what can happen in one year." Mr Thompaon encouraged her. "You are right Daddy. Indeed, no one can predict what could happen in one year." "Just enjoy your breakfast, you need to have lots of energy today." "I will, mum. " She agreed. They all ate the rest of their food in silence. In an hour, Julie had reported to his office. She sat down waiting for him. As soon as Mr Micheal arrived at the office, both Julie and the secretary stood up to welcome him. He took a glance at Julie. Julie was anxious. "Take my suitcase to my office." He handed over his suitcase to Julie. Julie collected his suitcase and went after him. "Every day you come here, ensure you dust my furniture and all other surfaces," Micheal ordered. "What?" That's the job of the cleaner." Julie challenged him. "And I'm telling you it's your job now. Whatever I ask you to do, you have to do it. You signed an agreement, remember?" Micheal notified her. Julie kept mute. As Micheal turned his back against her, she mimicked him. Michael turned towards her. "Did you say something?" "No," Julie replied. Micheal gripped her close to him. He held both her wrists so tight. He stared into her eyes. Julie perceived his perfume. It was wonderful. It must be expensive. They breathed against each other. "You better not say anything. Behave yourself. Next time, learn to drink responsibly. His breath smelled of mint. His voice gave her thrills in her inner body. He was strong and commanding. She closed her eyes. She was enjoying the moment. She licked her lips. Oh, she wished this middle-aged man would plant a kiss on it and cuddle her. It"'s been a long time. Just kiss me right now. She wished she could say. Wait! Why am I carried away? Isn't this too early? Julie behave yourself. She told herself. "Let me go, please." She muttered. Michael freed her. She fetched a duster and dusted the surfaces of the office. She murmured as she did so. This girl has got wings and I like it. It's been a long time since someone was a challenge to him. He would love a decent challenge. He wouldn't want to admit it, but he would love to have the girl around. Micheal thought to himself. He watched as she dusted and murmured. He stepped out to take some air, Julie was dusting the shelf when she saw an old photo album. She opened the first page, and she saw a young photo with a baby. "Cute," She said. She flipped over, and she saw another photo of Michael with a teenager. She looked closer. "This teenager looks familiar." She flipped again and she saw a photo of Mr Michael and Bruce. She covered her mouth. Don't tell me. "Mr Bruce Graham is the son of Micheal Graham. So Bruce is a billionaire son? All these while, Bruce never mentioned it, and he didn't appear to be that with the luxury of life. This was a shocker. While she is done with her ex-boyfriend, right at work she is with her ex-boyfriend's father. Is this fate? Just when she thought she was done with Bruce Graham, she was there working for his father, a more charming version of Bruce. *I have scores to settle. This would be the best way to serve Bruce a chilled tall glass of revenge." She whispered with a smirk on her face.
