Prologue

289 Words
I knew I was destined to get burnt the minute I saw him, the minute I fell into his sights I knew I would never be able to get him out of my mind. Adam Anderson was a whirlwind, an adventurer and far too dangerous for me. But I couldn't help being pulled in by his brightness, his charm and his beautiful eyes. As much as I tried to protect myself, the more it backfired and the more I couldn't help myself. No one could warn me about the dangers, for I already knew them,  and no one could stop me once I was his, from that second I caved I was hooked and I couldn't stop I needed him perhaps more than I should. Adam Anderson was the person who I had warned myself about, he moved too fast, his world turned too swiftly and he danced to a tune that I couldn't follow. He lived in a world of gang warfare, enemies and lines that couldn't be crossed. He wasn't afraid to kill and wasn't afraid to be the bad guy. But I loved him and that was destined to hurt me more than anything in the world. But once the walls I built came down not only did I let in a prince a demon or two also managed to get through, and I don't think the prince can save me now. Playing with fire is a stupid thing to do, but thinking you can control the fire well is something far beyond stupidity, and something I tried so foolishly to do. But what if after all is said and done, all the heartbreak and fighting we went through, what if it was all for nothing?
