Shaun drove like a mad man through the streets. Adam never let go of me, I silently sobbed into his chest. I was shaking, I was cold and I could hear over and over the sound of Ryan's body hitting the floor. I could hear the sound of the gun, the sound as it hit the ground. I was replaying it in my head the moment my eyes connected with Adam's eyes. The moment I knew I hadn't killed Ryan, but Adam had.
Once we reached the surgery, Shaun opened the door and Adam carried me into the building. It was like a normal hospital, but it was privately run. It was clean, the furniture and fixtures were of a higher quality compared to regular hospitals. It was familiar to me, I had been here for years and years.
