THE ADVENTURE TO SPACE

ON THE MOON (1)

After about thirty minutes of the rocket shaking, it finally comes to a halt. Alex and Priscy let go of each other. Now all they had to do was WAIT. They waited for about ten minutes just to be on the safe side.

After about ten to fifteen minutes later, Alex and Priscy decided to get down.They looked around and saw that the moon was huge and it may take a while to find his mom. They started looking. They looked for about three hours. They had to try not to be spotted by the astronaut who was also looking for Alex's mom.

As Priscy and Alex were searching, they came across footsteps imprinted in the land. They both looked at each other and bent down to see whose footprint that was. They realized that the footprint were smaller than a male's footprints. They looked like female footprints. The pattern the footprints produced were the patterns of the old space agency's boots. They gave each other a certain look. They were relieved.

They followed the footprints and the footprints led to a cave. In the cave, they saw a woman who was about fifty years. They ran towards the woman. She looked familiar to Alex and Priscy but they decided to investigate and know who she really was before jumping to conclusions. When the woman saw them running towards her,she felt so scared. The kids got close to her.

The woman asked the kids, "Who are you? Are you here to harm me? I'm going to die very soon so don't bother killing me." The expression on her face showed fear, pain and hope at the same time. She was afraid they might kill her, she was hungry and hunger pangs were killing her slowly and hope that if they were not bad people, they might help her. Nonetheless, she didn't get her hopes up.

Alex replied,"Can you please calm down? We are not going to kill you. We are rather coming to save you and send you back home. What is your name and how did you get here?"

She answered,"My name is Mary Roberts. I left my only son and husband at home and was forced to come on this mission because they threatened to kill my son if I did not agree to their offer. Now I'm stuck here and I don't know what has happened to my son and husband."

Priscy and Alex looked at each other.

Was she the one they had been searching for? Was their search finally successful?
