I NEED THE TRUTH

614 Words
After about twenty minutes, Mary, Alex and Priscy finally calmed down and were okay. Alex let go of Priscy's hand after she stopped shaking. He then turned to his mom and he saw her smile. He was so confused with his mother's expression so he asked his mother why she was smiling and that it was creeping him out. His mother told him the reason why she was smiling. Priscy could only smile but Alex felt embarrassed and all could do was look down. The pilot was filling the rocket with the oil. As old as he was, he had totally forgotten about the door he wanted to open and how the oil was outside the door. His mind drifted to the mission which was given to him. He wondered what would happened if Mary appeared on Earth some years later. He also saw the mission as absurd since Mary was declared dead years ago. Why did they want her back? Did they think she was still alive? A lot of questions flooded his mind and since he could not find answers to any of the questions, he decided to forget about it altogether. By the way, this was his last space mission after all and after this, he could finally go on retirement and rest till he died so what did he have to worry about? His doctor had also told him not to think too much and he didn't want to spend the life after retirement in the hospital. He finally filled the rocket with the oil and entered the rocket. He then sat down and began the rocket. Within three minutes, the rocket took off from the moon. After the rocket had left and they were all okay, Alex decided to ask his mother why she left home and why she did not come home. Back on Earth, Larry had some great news to tell them. He decided to ask for permission to visit the washroom. He was granted the permission from his boss and he left. When he got to the washroom, he waited for the people there to get out then he locked the main door leading to the washroom. He then called. The moment Alex opened his mouth to ask, they heard their device ring. It was Larry. Priscy picked it up and Larry told them that he had good news and bad news. The good news was that they would be returning home in three hours time. Mary was curious. She then asked Larry how they were to get out of the rocket and the agency without getting caught. Larry explained that the rocket would land on an open field. The pilot will get out and the rocket will not be cleaned until three days after landing. There will be tight security and that was why he placed some uniforms for them to wear when they got on Earth. All of a sudden, Larry's tone became sad. Mary then asked him what the bad news was. Larry said that Mr. Roberts (Mary's husband and Alex's dad) was rushed to the hospital the previous day. Mary was shocked and Alex was not too surprised. Back when he was at home, his dad was most of the time hospitalized because of depression. After the call, Alex then asked his mother the question on his mind. He asked his mother why was she left home, and why she was still on the moon for five years. Mary looked down and was sad. She then told Alex that he should be a little considerate and that he should wait till they got home and she will tell him everything. Priscy sighed.
