Sakiya looked back to Maranda worriedly. "Something creepy is going on, Sakiya, did you see his eyes?" Maranda asked. Sakiya nodded, remembering back to what Sylis had told her before, and what she had read in Sadie's personal journal. "I know, things are so weird right now. I need to talk to you about something, but first, we have to make sure Sylis will be okay." Sakiya told her, before moving to follow Sylis to the upper deck.
Maranda grabbed ahold of her arm on instinct. "Sakiya, wait! What if something bad happens! Can you please just stay down here with me?!" Maranda begged. Sakiya gently pushed her hand off of her arm. "Sorry Mar, but no can do. He's helped me so much, there's no way I'm letting him go up there to deal with this on his own. You stay put, I'll be right back. I promise not to intentionally put myself in harms way. Pinky." Sakiya assured her while holding her pinky in the air, Maranda joining her own in a pinky promise. She gave a defeated sigh and backed off to give Sakiya room to go up the stairs. Sakiya turned back around to go on her way.
"Alright, here goes nothing." Sakiya muttered. Maranda was essentially shaking she was so scared and nervous, but she knew everyone on board would protect her with all their might.
Sakiya walked slowly up the steps, trying not to make much noise, her hairs standing on end. She was nervous in a sense to see what was happening with the thumps she heard on board, but also confident enough to not make any mistakes or catch herself slipping.
When she reached the top of the steps, all the color in her face began to drain within a second. She couldn't believe what she was witnessing, what was happening directly before her eyes. It can't be, can it?
Standing before her on the upper deck were two humongous beings. Woah she said to herself, yeah woah was an understatement. As she stood, admiring the scene before her, a big thud on the deck made her snap out of her trance, bringing her attention back to the situation at hand. There were two huge wolves baring their sharp teeth while facing and circling eachother, seemingly waiting for the other to strike. They were much like the wolf she had witnessed in the woods before, although these were a bit scarier in their own right.
One was bigger than the other, a pure black wolf whom almost seemed to sparkle in the moonlight as it's fur blew in the wind, glistening in all its beauty. As it circled the other wolf on board, she could notice the defined muscles and stamina of it's shoulder blades moving up and down with each step it took. The other wolf was a dusty brown wolf, not as pretty in color or as magnificent looking as the pure black one. It looked almost as if it were only a shadow of the one it was was getting ready to fight, then, the brown one lunged forward with all its might.
Sakiya was so entranced with the beings she got to see up close, that she forgot to lookout for Zack and the fight going on right next to her. To the side of the wolves, there was Zachary and another guy fighting, the latter on his back on the porcelain floor, suffering from a body slam that Zachary had just dealt him. As the man withered in pain after the crack she heard ripple through the air. she just stood there, astonished. Zachary was smaller than the big guy he had just dropped.
Zachary suddenly noticed her presence. "Get back down there, NOW! It's too dangerous for you up here!" Zachary shouted at her, but Sakiya was still glued to her spot, unmoving. "Bu-But where's Sylis?" Sakiya said in fear, searching all around with her eyes but not seeing him anywhere in sight. As soon as she mentioned his name, the beautiful black wolf turned his head towards her and locked eyes with hers. She stared at it intently and felt the goosebumps rise on her body, a feeling that was familiar from her last encounter.
Did that beast just wink at me? She thought. That made her cold chills grow, there was something she just wasn't comprehending with all of this. When she turned her eyes back to Zachary, the wolves went back to their fight. Zachary gave her a sad look, making her wonder what was really going on here. She was getting confused. Zachary turned back to the big man who was now trying to stand back up on his feet, heading back towards Zachary, but he was still looking at Sakiya. "Watch out!" Sakiya yelled out loud. Zach turning his body back around. With one swift move, she heard the pop of the guys neck being broken, Zachary letting him slump to the floor. She sat still, now watching the wolves again, until something popped up in her head.
The shock and reality finally had hit her like a ton of bricks. She put two and two together, as the realization had set in.
Oh my gosh, the notebook! It's true! She remembered, the very notebook that her and Sylis had read part of when they first started this journey. The shiny black boxx that Sylis had revealed to her!
"Sylis, you're a freaking werewolf?!! A werewolf!! Oh my gosh, you were right!" She shouted in amazement, covering her mouth while watching as the black wolf brutally ripped out the throat of the brown one, dropping the throat and partial spine on the ground to lay next to the man who already laid dead on the deck. As Sakiya looked on at the horrific sight, she heard the sudden scream of fear behind her.
Maranda's here. Oh s**t.
Before Maranda could make any moves, Sakiya gripped her arms, keeping her from leaving. She stared into the depths of her eyes, knowing things are now going to turn far more dangerous.
"Maranda, I think it's time we have that talk, sooner rather than later."
