CHAPTER No ONECHAPTER No: ONE In nature's infinite book of secrecy, A little I can read. William Shakespeare “Love comforteth like sunshine after rain, But Lust’s effect is tempest after sun; Love’s gentle spring doth always fresh remain, List’s winter comes ere summer half be done; Love surfeits not. Lust like a glutton dies; Love is all truth. Lust full of forged lies.” William ShakespeareThe hibernal breeze, pervading through the entire area of the Rock Fort Temple, tried to reduce the radiation of heat since the hot sun during the day time, scorched the amorphous rocks. The clouds which made many designs on the azure sky tried to dim the refulgent sun-set but the lambency of the sunlight reflected in the west as well as the tower of the temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaga that perched at the top of the hill. To the north, one can see the Great Holy River, Cauvery flowing from west to east. On the other side of the bank of the Cauvery, there stood a magnificent temple tower dedicated to Sri Renganatha Swami on the bank of the Kollidam River. Tiruchirappalli Fort is a dilapidated fort in India which once protected the Old City of Trichy encompassing Big Bazaar Street, Singarathope, Bishop Heber School, Teppakulam and Tiruchirapalli Rock Fort. All that remains now is a railway station with that name and Main Guard Gate along West Boulevard Road in the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu. The fort can be traced along West Boulevard Road in West, East Boulevard Road in East, Butter-worth Road in North and Gandhi Market to the South. Tiruchirapalli Fort Railway Station lies opposite the Main Guard Gate and Tiruchirapalli Town Station lies towards its Eastern Entrance. Strategically sited on the bank of the River Cauvery (Kaveri) in Southern India, about 56 miles (90 km) from the sea, Trichinopoly was the third most important fortified post in the Madras Presidency (after Fort St. George and Fort St. David). The rectangular fort was built to enclose the Rock, one of several natural outcrops of volcanic gneiss which rise abruptly from the plain. Do you know how this city has come to be known as Tiruchy? When Lord Sri Rama returned to Ayodhya after rescuing Mother Sita from the captivity of Ravana, SriSugriva, Sri Hanuman and Sri. Vibishana accompanied the Lord to participate in the coronation function of the Lord. While returning back with the gift of ‘Sri Renganatha idol’ from Sri Rama, Vibishana came to the south. Seeing the beauty of the Cauvery and the sceneic environment, he wanted to relax for a while. Lord Vinayaka was there in the guise of a little boy. Vibishana asked the boy to take care of the gift of idol of Lord Ranganatha. After waiting for Vibishana, the boy placed the idol on the ground and hid himself in the hill. Vibishana was shocked to see the boy missing. He applied all his energy to move the idol but failed. Thus Lord Ranganatha, bound to Sri Lanka, cut short His journey and chose Sri Rangam as His abode. Seeing the boy at the top of the hill, Vibishana chased him and hit him on his head. The scar is still visible on the idol of Vinayaka. Thus, Lord Vinayaka along with Lord Renganatha nearby is ruling the city gracefully. In the meanwhile, a furious contest arose between Adisehsa and Vayu to decide the supremacy of their prowess. The condition was to shake violently Mount Kaliash. Defeating Adeishesha, when Vayu broke the Mount, a part of it fell in this place. A demon called, Tirishira was doing penance on Lord Siva. Though many years passed, Lord Siva delayed His Darshan to test his purity. He threw two of his heads in the fire and when he was about to throw the third head, Lord Siva appeared before him and restored his two heads. As requested by him, Lord Siva agreed to stay here in the name of “ThirisiraNathar”. The place came to be known as “Tirishiramalai, now changed as ‘Tiruchirappalli. In such a beautiful city, a young man was walking fast on the deserted road as it was midnight. It’s his wont to spend time with his friends during weekend holidays. They planned to see an English movie at Aruna theatre, at Puthur. It’s an adventurous film and it was scintillating also. After the end of the film, he said bye -bye to his friends and walked alone on the Tennur Road. As it was mid night, there was no body on the road and it was very calm and quiet. When he was crossing ‘Hindi PracharSabha’ that hapless incident took place. Yes, a patrol police jeep intercepted him. Without alighting from the jeep, an indecent and crude remark was made by the Sub-Inspector of police: “Sirah, Where are you going?” Before he was about to reply him, a flash light flashed at his face and Baskar hid his face by his hands to protect his eyes from flash light as he was dazed by the bright torch light. Then another indecent harsh word was thrown at him as a poisonous arrow. “Are you returning from brothel house? His harsh words baited Baskar, he was huffy (roused to anger) and gave his repartee: “Are you also returning from brothel home? His repartee had an impact on the Sub-Inspector. Immediately, the sub-Inspector of police jumped out of his seat from the jeep and glowered at him and raised his hand to slap him by bawling (shouting loudly as in anger) in a thundering voice: What did you say, you pig?” Next moment a miraculous incident happened. The raised hand was under the grip of a hunk, (a tall and strong man) who was in the red shirt and he fell on his hand (to take hold of him suddenly to attack him) and then his hand twisted back, thus prevented him from slapping Baskar. And in an angry tone,” Sirah, Veerapandi, you, s**t, what are you doing?” None expected the sudden appearance of the hunk in that crisis. Next moment, two constables and the driver jumped out of the jeep to charge their opponents.(to attack him by running very fast towards him) Baskar manhandled them pronto (pushed them roughly) and when they sprang upon him, he began to duff them up (kicked them many times). In the meanwhile, the hunk pushed Veerapandi down on the ground. Veerapandi immediately took his revolver from his holster to shoot him but, Baskar who saw him with a revolver in his hand, rushed towards him and kicked him violently. In the fight, the three began to attack the hunk but Baskar snatched the revolver from his hand and aimed at Veerapandi As soon as Veerapandi saw the revolver aiming at him, he was stunned and raised his two hands upwards and the two constables and the driver stretched their hands upwards inevitably. The hunk commanded: Baskar, till I smash them, never shoot but if they oppose, then shoot them immediately. Though Baskar was astonished as the strange man called his name, he engrossed his attention towards his opponents. The hunk took a cycle chain from his pant pocket and scourged them roughly till they bleed severely and fell down unconsciously. After conquering them, the hunk commanded at Baskar: “Run away from here with the revolver. Don’t stop till you reach home.” Saying, he sprang to the driver seat and started the jeep leaving behind the three on the middle of the road. Baskar, holding the revolver in his hand was galloping towards Sastry Road. But seeing him running, a dog began to chase him. A running race was held between Baskar and the stray dog. Baskar was very much scared of dogs; so his speed increased. But very soon he became tired and turned back. The stray dog stopped running after him but was barking at him. Its barking sound in that silent atmosphere disturbed the colony. He came to know the danger ahead as he was holding a revolver in his hand. Baskar was quick; He started running on the main road, crossing Sastry Road. There was a street stray dog dozing at the side of the road and when it heard the footfall of a man and sighted at the running Baskar, it got spirits and began to chase him by barking at him. In front of him, there was a bungalow and the gate was not locked fortunately. He pushed the gate open and closed the door immediately. It’s very dark and could not identify the way to escape. He walked quickly around the house and found out a staircase at the back of the house leading to the first floor of the bungalow. Its door was ajar and he bolted the door and climbed up the steps furtively. After reaching the first floor, he took rest for a moment and gasped for breath. He peeped out to see the stray dog but that disappointed dog lay on the road waiting for his return. He furtively walked forward and found out an open place in the terrace.. He found out a bathroom at the corner. He wanted to attend the natural call. So, he went towards the door of the bathroom and it was not bolted outside and so he pulled the door slowly and gently without making noise. He was taken aback to see a scene that cannot be forgotten throughout his life. Yes, no sooner did he pull the bathroom door slowly and very carefully without making noise, than in the zero watts bulb light, he caught the sight of bonny lass (very pleasing to the eye), laving her pudendum facing the entrance of the door so that it facilitated him to see her clearly in that dim light. He partly opened the door while the lass engrossed in laving her pudendum. So she didn’t notice him. Had he pulled the door completely, it would have screeched and alarmed her but since it was a partial pulling of the door, it didn’t screech to warn her. In a trice, Baskar eyed at her lathering pudendum, sanitary pad, blood stained tampons, and menstrual blood stained pads and tampons lying on the wet floor. In a moment Baskar was boggled(startled with amazement) as he never expected to see such a scene at mid night. Can any expect a girl laving her pudendum in the bath room without closing the door at the odd hour, in the mid night? Similarly could she expect the advent of a man at that odd hour? At the same time, while she was laving her pudendum, she just raised her head. She saw Baskar at the entrance of the door holding his hands at the door standing like a statue. The damsel was also taken aback like Baskar. Both did not expect to meet each other there in that strange environment. The damsel was about to scream but Baskar sprang upon her and gagged her mouth with his hand and begged:” Please, don’t scream and entangle me. I am not a thief. “ Baskar was encircling her neck with his hand to gag or muzzle her(prevented her from screaming out) from behind her without knowing she was semi naked. The damsel was in her night gown and it’s her second day of her menstrual period. Due to Menorrhagia, she was very weak and was not feeling well both physically and mentally. Menorrhagiais the medical term for menstrual periods with abnormally heavy or prolonged bleeding. Although heavy menstrual bleeding is a common concern, most women don't experience blood loss severe enough to be defined as menorrhagia. With menorrhagia, she couldn’t maintain her usual activities when had her period because she had so much blood loss and cramping. Though the view of her lathering pudendum was momentary, yet his camera mind captured her cunt -view. Like her, her pudendum was also ruddy complexion unlike many Indian girls whose cunts are black or brown. Since her cunt was hardwood floors (shaved genitalia) and lathered, his camera eyes caught the partial view of her genitalia out of which her Coleus Feminus was visible to his eagle eyes. She had stripped her long gown to her navel by which her hips, escutcheon and groins were photographed by his mental camera and retained the view permanently. Similarly, as he was encircling her neck with sinistral hand to gag her mouth to prevent her from screaming, his dextral hand was across her protruding mounds of her gown holding revolver that frightened her. Who will believe him to be an ordinary layman but not a thief while holding a revolver in his hand? She struggled to relieve her mouth from the imprisonment by his hand that gaged her mouth. She gesticulated to relieve her mouth by her eyes. “Pray you not to create mess against me till I am allowed to speak to you.” He stipulated. She nodded. He relieved her from gagging. She gasped for breath and set right her gown. She was greatly annoyed for being exposed in presence of a thief. She mustered up her courage and asked him,” If you are not a thief, then, who are you? “I’m Baskar, Engineering College student.” “Oh, I see. Which college?” “N.I.E.T” “Group?” “E.C.E II year.” “I ‘haven’t seen you.” “Is it my fault for you haven’t gone to that college?” “Shut up. You’re a thief. Don’t lie.” “Why should I lie, Miss. Your name please?” “Romantic?” ”Do I need romance as I am in an embarrassing situation? “If you’re true, then why do you need revolver?” “This is not my revolver, Miss.” “Oh, another tale? You’ve this revolver in your hand but it is not your revolver, do you think I am mental?” “I don’t know whether you’re mental or sane, Miss. “ “If it is not your revolver, then whose revolver it is?” “It belongs to Veerapandi, Sub-Inspector of Police.” “Oh, you stole from the police?” “No, Miss, Please lend me your ears. I promise I am not a thief.” Then Baskar began to narrate all the incidents to her. “Aha! What a fine tale!” she made fun of him. Baskar, after a pause, said:” Now, I’ve proof with me. Wait.” He took out his purse from his pant pocket and showed her his ID. N.I.E.T, Tiruchirappalli-12, M. Baskar Kumar, E.C.E.II year. “Oh, my college.” “It can’t be your college; it is Central Government College, Miss.” “Shut up. “ “Okay. Miss.” “Your name, please.” “Shut up.” “If I shut up my mouth, then, how can I know your name, Miss.?” “What are you going to do after knowing my name?” “Just for my knowledge.” ”Shut up.” “Don’t you know other than this word?” “Bantering?” “When I’ve proved myself that I am not a thief but a college student, then , why should I banter?” “Well, Now get lost from here.” ”How can I make a move as the stray dog is waiting for me outside?” “If so, do you want me to accompany you to drive it away? “It’s your convenience, Miss.” “What?” “Nothing. It’s a very bad day, sorry, bad night. I escaped from police, second, stray dog finally, you.” This time, his cell phone invited him. Baskar attended the call. His father was very angry and he began to scold him. “You, useless, donkey. Now it is one. Where are you grazing? He cuffed his head and replied: “Dad, If I am a donkey, then what are you, dad?” “You rascal. Are you making fun of me? Where are you now?” “I am with a girl who is not known to me.” On hearing the dialogue, that lass began to laugh. Now she confirmed that he is not a thief but an innocent fellow. She believed what he told her was true. “What! You’re with a girl? What’s wrong with you, rascal?” His father shouted which she heard clearly. “Dad, give the phone to mummy. I’ll talk to her.” ”Go to hell.” His father gave cell phone to his wife saying,” Your mad son is blabbering something. He says, he is with a girl who is not known to him. What is wrong with him? “Mummy, “He called caressingly and began to narrate everything. But he didn’t mention that he met the girl in an awkward situation. His mother scolded him:’ Are you mad to resort to a strange person, that too, a girl, at this odd hour? As your father says, have you become insane?” “You too, are scolding me without knowing my present situation, Mummy.” “What makes you go to night show?” His mother blabbered Mummy, I went to watch the movie but not night show as you mean.” He corrected. “You’re good at this prank; Is the girl with you?” Yes, mum.” “Give the phone to her.” “What are you going to talk to her?” “I’ll talk to her when it’ll be convenient to give you in marriage with her. You i***t. Give it to her your phone.” Baskar saw her chuckling on hearing the dialogues between him and his parents. He gave his cell phone to her, saying,” My mother wants to talk with you, please attend the call.” Baskar’s mother opened the conversation:” I’m Baskar’s mother. May I know who you are? Is it true what he speaks?” She responded:” Aunty, I’m Shyamala. What your son spoke all, are true. Now he is in my house.” His mother politely spoke to her: Is it true that he resorted to your house for he’s scared of a stray dog? Shyamala responded to his mother:”" At first I hardly believed his words but after I confirmed what he told is true, I believed it to be true. Will you please take your son from my home? Here’s my address. Please take note of it.” Shyamala gave her residential address. His mother spoke gently:” Though he’s grown well, he has no mental maturity for his age. Now we are going to start. Till then, please take care of him or else, he will run away to encounter another risk.” It seemed that Baskar was very much annoyed by the unfair treatment of his parents who scolded him. He expressed his concern to Shyamala: His father ordered him to give her the cell phone as he wanted to say something to her. Shyamala attended the call. “Yes, uncle, I am Shyamala speaking.” ”Are you the daughter of Gunasekar?” “Ah, Yes, uncle. How do you know? Do you know my father?” She was surprised. Your father is my dear friend. We are working in the same department in Golden Rock Railways Accounts department. Actually I wanted to come to your house as guest. Your father has been torturing me to come to his house. But I couldn’t come. I never expected that by my stupid son, I underwent unnecessary troubles. I will come to meet your parents. Till then, take care of him. First of all snatch the revolver from him and keep it safe. “ “Okay, uncle. I’ll inform my parents about your arrival over here. Don’t worry uncle. I’ll take care of your son.” Then, Shyamala continued:” Since your father is the friend of my father, I’ll oblige, otherwise, I will therow you out.” “Yes, I’ve seen how you throw me out.” Baskar answered. “Are you mad like your family members?” “Yes, Shyamala. It’s a fact that mad people will only talk with mad people.” His irrelevant reply irritated her very much. Sometimes, he speaks well but many times speaks as if he is mad. What is his true picture? Shyamala asked herself. “Could you go inside the bathroom and finish your remaining work? Baskar bantered. Shyamala liked his bantering words but she didn’t show her liking. So she simulated to be furious and in a condemned tone,” Mind your words, Baskar. Don’t open your mouth hereafter.” She returned to the bathroom and bolted the door inside. Till the bathroom got opened, Baskar decided to sit with one leg draped over his another leg. He sat in the corner draping his leg on another and felt perky in meeting Shyamala in the peculiar situation. He thought that he hadn’t pernoctated (to ass the night in prayer) even at VaikundaEgadasi Day, an auspicious day devoted to Lord Vishnu of Vaikuntam. But he was pernoctating to see the ‘darshan’ of Shyamala after opening the door of the bathroom. He dabbed his forehead with his hanky and wiped out the sweating despite the gorgeous weather.. He didn’t feel any qualm for the act he was doing. A seraphic smile ran over his lips when he was staring at the closed bathroom. He found her manners while speaking with his parents were suave. He ruminated over the strange dialogue held between him and her. He considered the incident as a blessing in disguise as well as happenstance or serendipity (something good that happens by chance) as the stroke of luck brought him to meet Shyamala, a bonny lass, and he took a shine to her.(liked her at once) He recollected his ribaldry (rude humour based on s*x) uttered towards her,”Could you go inside the bathroom and finish your remaining work?” and her reaction. He knew that it’s quasi-anger when he made ribaldry remarks at her. He felt a divine love burgeoned between them. Next his wandering mind was pivoted to the sexy scene, semi naked, pose, “Aha! How fortune I am to have a chance to glance at her pudendum! How yummy it’s that she feasted to my eyes with her charming pose! The raunchy scene that his eyes captured was running on his mental screen. She was cleaning the menstrual blood stain stuck to her labia by soaping and by stooping, then rubbing inside her pudendum, without dilating her thighs and two sides of groins. As she was stooping, her cleavage was exposed to his eyes and even in the dim light; he could identify its colour and size of her boobies. He sighed: “It’s serendipity today. Thank you, Veerapandi. Hadn’t you encountered with me, I wouldn’t have happenstance to see her and this precious scene in the bath room. By the bye, who is that strange man that rescued me from the buffalo? How does he know me and my name? I’ve never seen him in my life. He smashed the police very nicely. How these fellows harassed the innocent fellows in the station! Now the hunk flogged them and they won’t forget this day and punishment. “His vagrant mind became restless conducing to stir apherodisiac(violent s****l desire). He streaked. At the same time, the door of the bathroom opened and Shyamala emerged from there in her night gown and when her eyes were searching for him, they fixed at him where he was sitting in the corner, draping his leg on another leg and dreaming. Shyamala was about to say something but an ambulance siren sound from the yonder place diverted her attention and Baskar who was swimming in the ocean of dream, shook his head and returned to the mortal world. He stood up and said to Shyamala:” Someone informed the ambulance to take the mortally wounded bodies on the road.” “Do you mean, ‘Sub--inspector and his constables?” “Yes” he nodded and looked at that side. The sky was cloudy and it was very dark and nothing could be seen. In the meanwhile, they heard the brassy sound, a loud and unpleasant sound, of scooter that indicated the arrival of his parents. Baskar became enthusiastic and said to Shyamala:” Here comes my parent by scooter.” Shyamala directed him to scramble(move hurriedly) to the main gate to receive his parents while she would open the door with her parents and invite them. When Shyamala woke her parents up at that odd hour, they’re shocked and appalled and in a horrified voice asked her what was wrong with he to wake them up in that odd hour. Shyamala replied calmly: Nothing to worry, dad, Mum. Your office friend has come to our house with his son. I will tell you the details afterwards. First, let us invite them now. They are waiting outside the gate.” “My office friend!” Gunasekar was baffled by her reply and her mother in an irritating tone, “What are you blabbering, Shyamala? Did you dream badly to blabber like this? Something wrong with you.” “Nothing wrong with anyone. Believe me what I say. I will show them. Come with me.” She led them to the main hall and then opened the Entrance door where they saw his friend Sivasankar, his wife and Baskar. On seeing them waiting outside, GunaSekar understood that his daughter was normal and what she said was true. He was chuffed to receive them and invited them warmly. “What Sivasankar? What a surprise! Come in.” Then he welcomed his wife also and Baskar. “All due to this fellow.” He showed his son, Baskar who was blinking at them. “Extremely sorry for disturbing you at this odd hour. You’ve been asking me to come to your house and I couldn’t come. Now through my stupid son, it happens to come to your house as your guest at this odd hour. Let me speak to you in details inside.” Sivasankar was a middle aged man and his wife, Maghathi was young like Shyamala’s mother, Latha. Baskar was flexing his head as he had done a crime and was blinking. Sivasankar asked Shyamala,” Shyamala, where is the revolver?” Gunasekar and his wife Latha were shocked when he mentioned about the revolver and her reply to him increased their surprise. “It’s with your son, Uncle. “ She directed her eyes to Baskar who was sitting on the sofa by the side of his mother. . “Where is the revolver, you stupid fellow?” his father roared. Baskar was hurt by his callous attitude as he commanded in presence of them. He looked at his father pathetically. He mumbled: “Upstairs.” He showed his hands upwards. Shyamala could not control her laughter. She laughed and asked him,” Did you keep it in the terrace?” Baskar nodded. “I’ll bring it.” Shyamala took to her heels to the upstairs to bring the revolver which Baskar forgot to bring it with him Baskar kept silent by which his father became furious and scolded in their presence.” Open your mouth and tell me in details what happened. Articulate and tell truth without lying.” Baskar began to narrate the events clearly while they pay rapt attention towards his account. Gunasekar, forty five years old and native of Pattinam, got the job in Railway Department in Tiruchy and his wife Latha, a graduate was a housewife. Two years before, Shyamala joined N.I.E.T on merit like Baskar. Shyamala, being their only child, she was very much pampered by her parents. “As is the mother, so that is the daughter.” Yes, she is sagacious and brave like her mother. Similarly, Sivasankar, forty six years old as well, a post graduate in Commerce got the job as a clerk in Railway Department in Golden Rock, Tiruchy. His native place is Tiruchy and he studied in St. Joseph’s college, one of the illustrious institutions in Madras State. His wife, Maghathi, native of Tiruchy, is a graduate, studied in Holy Cross College, Tiruchy. She was working in Indian Overseas Bank, Tiruchy. It’s their love marriage. Baskar, the only son of Sivasankar and Maghathi, was very shrewd like their parents and an ace in football game. Maghathi pampered him very much but Sivasankar was not as much as his wife. He was not lenient in bringing up his son. Because of his father’s strictness, Baskar was detached with his father but more attached with his mother. They had their own house in Tiruchy whereas Gunasekar and his wife were living in a rented house with their daughter, Shyamala who was a student of Holy Cross College High school and after her school studies, she joined Engineering course. Baskar was in shabby dress as he rolled on the road with the police while fighting with them and his hair was not properly combed. In the hall especially at that odd hour, Baskar began to narrate the events occurred. He started:” After the film show, I plunged (moved quickly in uncontrolled way) from Aruna Theatre and while crossing Hindi PracharSabha, a Patrol police jeep intercepted me and the Sub inspector namely Veerapandi, called me rudely, ’Sirrah” and asked me where I was going. Before I opened my mouth to reply him, he flashed the torch light on my face and rudely asked me whether I was returning from brothel house. “He paused and saw their faces for the reaction. By this time, they heard the footfall of Shyamala descending the staircase with revolver in her hand. “Oh, God! What a blunder you have done! It’s very risky and danger. It is a great crime to snatch the revolver from the police.” Sivasankar was very much annoyed. Gunasekar directed Shyamala to keep the revolver on the table and sit down on the sofa. Shyamala explained:” Uncle, What the hunk devised is correct. As per his idea, Baskar took the revolver and hurried to reach our house…..” Baskar smiled at her and told her:” They don’t know who the hunk is and what he did. Just now, I started telling them how I encountered with Veerapandi. “ “Oh, he’s already told you the entire story?” Latha asked her. Shyamala nodded. Maghathi urged Baskar to continue his recounting: Baskar continued: His unmannerly behaviour and harsh words used at me, baited me. Then I gave him repartee in my style. I asked him whether he was returning from brothel house. He became furious and jumped out of the jeep to slap me by raising his hands. At that time a miracle happened. There appeared a hunk in red shirt and gripped his hand and prevented him from blowing me. Then he wrenched his hand back and pushed him on the road, Veerapandi didn’t expect this sudden attack and he was shocked and fell down on the road. Immediately the two constables in the jeep and the driver joined their hands against us and began to attack us. Humiliated by the blow, Veerapandi rose fiercely and sprang upon the hunk but the hunk fisted his face to bleed him on his mouth. In the meanwhile the two constables and the driver began to attack me but I obstructed their attack on me and pushed down on the road. Immediately, the hunk came to my rescue and attacked the constables and fisted them by which they fell down on the ground. Like a mad man with anger, Veerapandi took his revolver from his holster and aimed at the hunk but I kicked him and snatched his revolver. I aimed at Veerapandi. In the meanwhile, the constables and the driver, on seeing the revolver in my hand, became scared and surrendered themselves by stretching out their two hands upwards. “Next, the hunk took a cycle chain from his pant pocket and began to flog them and warned me to shoot them without fail if they oppose them. I aimed this revolver towards them by which they were very scared and surrendered. The hunk flogged the sub Inspector with cycle chain till he fell down unconsciously. Then he urged me to keep the revolver with me and run away from the spot without stopping.” Shyamala who was listening to his account came to know that he was going to narrate how he fled and at last resort to her house especially to the upstairs and open the bathroom when she was laving her pudendum to cleanse the menstrual clot of blood. Immediately she chipped in:’ “What the hunk said is a good idea. As Baskar was holding the revolver in his hand, his fingerprinting will be impressed on the revolver by which the police department will use for biometric identification in criminal investigation. That’s why he instructed Baskar to take the revolver with him and run away from the spot. If any passer-by happens to witness the accident, unnecessary problem will be raised. That’s why he urged him to flee from there. “ “Then,” Baskar started but Shyamala chipped in and continued:” As he ran to his heels, a stray dog began to bark and chase him. Driven mad and to escape from the biting of the dog, he resorted to our upstairs as the front gate was not locked. He jumped over the compound wall and ascended the stairs to reach the staircase. The barking sound of the dog and the thud when he jumped off the compound wall disturbed my sleep. Immediately I opened the door and peeped out. He was found with revolver. I was scared of and took him to be a burglar and was about to scream but he knelt down before me and implored me not to get him entangled as he was not a thief but innocent boy. Then he began to narrate what he has narrated to you. He showed me the identify card for proof and then only I believed him. “ Her listeners could not understand why Shyamala narrated the incident in lieu of Baskar who had to recount his experience. Her father asked her: “Instead of letting him talk, you chipped in and narrated as if you’re involved in this matter.” Shyamala replied sagaciously(in a shrewd manner, astutely) He was in a fuddled disposition (confused and perplexed to cause to be unable to think clearly) and hasn’t resumed to his normalcy.. Moreover, when I came to know that he is my college student by confirming with his I.D. , I believed him to be true. He has already narrated the entire events when I interrogated him. That’s why I chipped in. Am I right, Baskar?” His eyes met with him and spoke something. He understood pronto and he nodded. “Who is the hunk you met and succoured you?” Gunasekar asked Baskar. “I mulled over the mysterious man but no answer to my questions which I asked myself.’ Who is he? How does he appear immediately? How does he know my name? What has made him succour to me? Where has he gone? Why didn’t he take the revolver with him but left it with me? But he is a very ferocious man and it is obvious how he flogged and fisted Veerapandi. He whipped with his cycle chain till he was mortally wounded and fell down unconsciously. “Baskar replied. Sivasankar was very much worried and said sadly,” You’ve invited the trouble unnecessarily by going to the theatre at an odd hour. All due to your mother pampering. You have estranged Veerapandi. That too, he is a sub-Inspector of Police. He is like a cobra and won’t leave you without wrecking his vengeance. I am very much worried now.” “What happened had happened. There is no use of worrying those past events. Past is past. What is to be done next is important to decide. Let’s discuss tomorrow. Tomorrow being Sunday, let’s try our best to solve this problem. Siva, you can go home tomorrow morning not now. Sleep here in my home….” Saying, he directed his wife,” Latha, make arrangements for his sleeping here in our guest room. Sister, you also spend your night here in our home as a guest and you can leave tomorrow. What Baskar Sir? You are very exhausted and damn tired. You fresh up yourself and sleep here in our home comfortably and tomorrow morning let’s discuss what should be done next. “Then he turned to the direction of his daughter and directed:” Shyamala, Don’t go upstairs.
