Sixteen

Niko was outside of Mark' house. Where the hell is he? he thought. He looked at his phone. "Is he there yet?" He saw JJ's text. "No" he replied. Five minutes later, he saw Mark's car coming. Finally ,he thought.

Mark parked and got out of the car. Niko was on the doorstep.

“There you are”, Niko said impatiently.

Mark looked at him confused.

“What do you mean? Did we had a date and I stood you up?”.

“Ha-ha very funny”, Niko said with a sarcastic voice.

Mark smiled. "What' going on?" He asked.“JJ told me that she saw you with Nora.”

Mark sighed

“And she sent you over to scold me?”

“Mark, she is just worrying about you and so am I.”

“Look, Mark said trying to keep his voice down, thank you for worrying, but firstly you don't have to and secondly is none of your business. How many times do I have to say this?” he said and opened the house door.

Niko followed him inside.

“Coffee? Mark asked. Niko nodded. “How serious are things with Nora?” he asked.Mark handed him the cup of coffee.

“I like her, I really do. That's all I can say now.”

“And what about Anna?”

“I need to see where things are going with Nora before say or do anything with Anna.”

“So you'll have both?”

Mark's patience was coming to an end.

“I haven't cheated on Anna if this is what you think, he said with a steady cold voice. What I have with Nora is just a flirt. At least for now. I haven't slept with her, we haven't even kissed, so no, I will not have both, is just Anna.”

“OK” Niko said with a calmer voice.

“Did you know that there were 12 Gods in ancient Greece that had a fight with the Titans?” Mark said suddenly.

Niko looked at him surprised.

“What?” He asked.

“And the Gods won and sent the Titans far away.”

Niko was surprised.

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“I visited the exhibition about Greek mythology at the museum. Really cool stuff.”

Niko smiled.

“You. Went to a museum. Saw an exhibition about Greek mythology and you remember what you saw??? WOW  Nora must be good.”

Mark laughed.

“She is” he said. A goddess the voice came back on his head.

“Mark?”

“Mhm?”

“Please, don't hurt Anna. I mean if you guys are over, then just let her go.”

“I promise, Mark said. The last thing I want is to hurt her.”

Niko took a deep breath.

“OK, I think is time to go. JJ will be waiting for me to tell her how our conversation went.”

Mark smiled.

“Tell her that there is nothing to worry about.”

Niko smiled and closed the door behind him.

Mark looked at the cup of coffee. Coward the voice said in his head, you can't even admit to yourself that you are in love with her.

He shook his head and took his phone. A message from Nora: " Thank you for today. It was really nice". He smiled. Indeed it was he thought.

He texted back: "Can't wait to see you again!". Nora saw his message and smiled. She put her phone away and went into the shower.  

Niko got into his car. He took his phone and called JJ.  "What happened?" She answered immediately.  "I'm afraid it started", he said. "He remembered?" She said in panic."Not yet, but he went to the museum to see the exhibition for the greek mythology. I knew that exhibition was not a good idea!" He said agree hitting his hands on the steering wheel.  "Niko, I am afraid!" "Don't be my love, I will do everything in my power to prevent him from remembering." He said and hung up his phone. Fool he said to himself. You had to be more careful! You knew that Hera remembered,  it was a matter of time until she would find Zeus. "Can you hear me?" He heard inside his head. "Yes master" he answered. "What happened?" "I am afraid that you don't have much time. He already started having some recollection" "i***t!!! I told you to have an eye on him. Cronos will be very angry once he wakes up" "I know master" Niko said with a trembling voice. "I need to know everything, do you understand? Everything! Every little detail otherwise you and your pathetic mortal fiancé will suffer" "Yes master, I will tell you everything you want to know. I am going home now." There was silence in his head and Niko understood that the voice had closed the channel. "I am coming home. They know that his memory is coming back. Please be careful. Love you" he texted JJ and turned the key on the car.
