Seventeen

Nora woke up the next morning feeling happy. She got dressed and went downstairs to the kitchen to make coffee. Whilst preparing her breakfast her phone rung.

"Hi Amy" she said smiling. 

"Nora, have you heard?" Amy sounded upset

"Hear what? I just woke up. What's going on? Why are you upset?"

"I am terrified Nora. I just got a message from our spy. The Titans Nora. Half of them are awake and they are trying to wake the rest as well. You know what that means. We need Mark, Nora. We need him to remember, like now."

"OK OK calm down, Nora said trying to sound as relaxed as she could be, but her heart was beating really fast. Is Cronos awake?"

"As far as I know, not yet. But Nora, is a matter of time. And we need to be together, the 12 of us, otherwise, we will be in prison and they will come to earth"

Nora stood up and started walking up and down the room.

"Have you said this to the rest or not yet?"

"Not yet, I wanted you to be the first to know as you are the only one in contact with Mark"

"He started remembering..."

"He did or you want him to do?" She asked with a suspicious voice.

"Well, he said he had the dreams, and when Mary said his name, his real name, he acted weird. He was also able to see the sparkles in my eyes. The light…."

"Nora, that is not enough and you know it. You may have to take some more drastic measurements." Amy interrupted her.

"Amy, this is going to be painful, you know it will be."

"I am aware of that. But there is no other option. If he won't remember any time soon, we need to make him remember. And if this will come from your side, it will not be as painful as it would be if any of us would do"

Nora took a deep breath.

"You are right, she said. How much time do we have?"

"I would wait for a week "

"A WEEK??? ONLY???" Nora yelled

"Yes Nora, a week. We are running out of time you know. Cronos can wake up any minute now and if we are not ready, that's it".

Nora sat down and took a deep breath.

"Look, I am not going to lie, is not easy. You know is not."

"Can you meet with him today again?"

"I don't know, but I will try".

"OK, Amy said with a calmer voice. I will inform the rest and will see how we will handle it".

"Perfect. Talk to you later." Nora said and hung up the phone. Oh my god, she thought. How can I make him remember without causing any pain? Is almost impossible. She stood up to take a shower when she heard the doorbell. She took a look at the time. Who is it at 10 am? she thought. 

She went to the door and opened it. Mark was standing in frond of her.

"Good morning " he said with his heavy voice staring her down. 

Nora froze.

"Good morning, she whispered. What are you doing here and how you got my address?"

"Can I come in?" he asked. 

"Yes, of course." she replied.

Mark went in and took a look at the room.

"You have a nice house, he said. You bought it or you rent it?"

Nora looked at him suspicious. 

"What's going on Mark? Why are you here?" 

Mark took a step closer to her and held her hands.

"I wanted to see you, he whispered and kissed her hands. Is this too bad?" He said looking deep in her eyes and put his hands on her waist pulling her closer to him. 

Her heart was beating very fast. 

"No, no is not" she whispered. 

He looked into her eyes. Goddess he thought my Goddess. He barely touched her lips when her phone rung. 

"Don't answer" he said

"I need to..."

He took her phone and turned it off.

"Now, you are all mine" he said and kissed her passionately.
