Mark was trying to concentrate but it was impossible. He woke up with a headache. I should've not drink that much yesterday he thought and touched his forehead.
Anna reached out to him.
“Feeling better?” She asked.
Mark shook his head
“No, he replied. The headache is not going to go away that easily.”
Anna kissed him softly on his lips.
“This happens when you drink a lot.” She said.
Mark smiled
“Is not only the drinking. I was not able to sleep well.”
“I realized that”
Mark got serious.
“I am sorry Anna.”
“The nightmares are back?” She asked worried.
Mark nodded.
“Yes, and they are now more vividly.”
“Hmm, Anna said. You know my opinion about it. “
“I don’t think that a psychologist will help “ he said by looking at her with the edge of his eye.
“Asking for help is always a good idea. Your problems won't go away, they will just become easier for you to handle. Especially if you cannot sleep.” Anna said.
Mark stayed quite.
Two floors above.
Nora checked her phone. Phil had texted her: “I will pick you up from work. We need to discuss a few things.”
Nora answered “OK” and left her phone to the side. She felt a bit hungry so she decided to take her lunch break.
Jennifer and Pauline were in a call so she didn’t interrupt them. She took her lunch and went on the company's cafeteria to eat.
She took the elevator and entered the room. It was not that crowded just a few people here and there. She sat on a table by the window and looked outside. Cloudy weather she thought, someone is in a bad mood.
She started eating whilst reading an e-book.
Shortly after, Mark entered the room and he was looking for a table to sit and eat. Suddenly, he saw her sitting by the window. She looked so concentrated at her mobile and she didn't see him. A goddess the familiar annoying voice came into his mind. He shook his head immediately. He walked slowly towards her, trying not to scare her.
“Nora?” He said hesitantly.
Nora looked at him.
“Oh, hi Mark” she said surprised. “How are you?”
“Not that good but is ok, Mark said. Is it ok if I join you?”
Nora smiled
“Of course” she said.
Mark sat on the opposite of her.
“What are you reading” He asked.
Nora looked at him.
“A book” she said.
Mark smiled
“What kind of a book?”
“About mythology.” She said.
“Mythology?” Mark repeated.
“Yes, weird ha?” Nora said smiling.
“No, no is not, is just that I never expected that you would say that. I was more prepared for a novel or something”.
“Well, the Greek mythology has also lot of love stories” she said smiling.
Mark raised his head from his food.
“Greek mythology you said?”
OK, let’s see she thought.
“Yes, the book that I am reading is about Greek mythology.”
Mark frowned.
“OK” he said thinking.
“Is everything OK? Nora asked. Have I said something that upseted you?”
“No no, Mark said. I just have a headache and I haven't slept well. I had a nightmare.”
Nora was listening very carefully. That explains the sudden change of weather last night she thought.“I understand. What do you know about Greek mythology?” She asked
“Not a lot of things he said, will you tell me some?”
Nora smiled.
“Of course” she said. You know more than you think you do she thought.
“So based on that book , you are interested in mythology” he said.
“You can say that” Nora said
“Have you visited the exhibition here in the museum?”
Nora looked at him.
“How come you know about the exhibition? I thought you were not interested in it”
Mark laughed
“You are right. But my best friend's fiancé has a gallery next to the museum and I saw the posters.”
“I see” Nora said.
“So, have you?” Mark asked one more time.
“No, Nora replied. But I will definitely pay a visit to the museum. Thank you for the information”
Mark smiled at her,
“We could go together if you want” he suggested
Nora looked at him.
“When?” She said
“Saturday? “
“Deal “
Mark smiled
“Great. This is my number” he said by handing her his card.
Nora did the same.
“And this is mine.”
Mark checked the card.
“See you on Saturday Nora Williams” he said and stood up.
Nora did the same.
“See you on Saturday Mark White” she replied and they smiled at each other.
Nora left work early this day. Once she got out if the building, she saw Phil waiting for her.
Nora smiled and run towards him giving him a huge hug.
Phil smiled and hugged her too.
“WOW what have I done to deserve a hug like this?” He said and kissed her on her cheek.
Nora smiled
“Well, she said I have a date with Mark.”
Phil looked at her surprised.
“Really?” He said and his eyes were glowing. “Where will you go?”
“Will you believe if I had told you that we will visit and exhibition about Greek mythology?”
Phil was surprised.
“He remembered?” He asked impatiently.
“He is on the right way she replied. I think he already had the dreams and I hope, that by seeing the statues...”
“By seeing the real us and himself” Phil interrupted her.
Nora took a deep breath and took his hand.
“Please don't say this here in public”
“I am sorry” he said.
“As I was saying, I hope that by seeing the statues he might remember a few things.”
“OK, let’s hope that this will be our chance” Phil said smilingly.
Nora nodded
“Let's go. We need to inform the rest.” She said and they entered his car.
Mark was watching from the window this whole time. What the hell is going on? he thought. How do they know each other? Are they a couple?
