Liam stirred into wakefulness, feeling his sharp gasps echo through his ears; his heart was racing in his chest. With a frustrated blink, he parted his lids, the glare of the light making them instantly water. Liam felt his mind get jolted out of kilter from the sudden shift. His body was heavy, weighted as he dragged it for miles through thick, heavy darkness. The light that rescued him now dimmed, softening into a faint glow and outlining the room around him.
