Liam screamed as a torrent of light exploded from within his body, causing shockwaves through the dark. A blinding force erupted from within him and collided violently with the swirling shadows that cascoded the woman. She fell back, eyes wide with anger mixed with surprise.
"Impossible!" she spat, her hands rising to conjure more darkness. It was too late, though-Liam's power had broken through the barriers she had set with such care.
