The city felt different today. Previously a comfort to Emily, a sense of normality in the middle of the turmoil she had gotten caught in with Daniel, the buzz of traffic, the glitter of skyscrapers, and the incessant rush had been. But now everything seemed alien as if she no longer belonged here. Everything brought back images of him and the life she had sought to flee.
