Emily woke from her restless sleep with the metallic clang of the door. Her head had been whirling through half-formed escape strategies and dreams when reality arrived like a chilly wave. Straining against the restraints holding her to it, she shot straight into the chair. Under the strong glare of the fluorescent lights, the once-sterile white room seemed even more threatening.
