Emily left Daniel's office feeling as if she had been carrying the weight of the world for a very recent amount of time, her heart in her throat. The first encounter turned out just as expected—confrontational, aggressive, and full of underlying assertions that shaped the circumstances. Daniel's answer was much colder than she had expected; his cynicism broke through her will.
The grandeur of Sterling Enterprises appeared to be more stifling than it had ever been as she was leaving. As she negotiated the crowd, her memories of the event seemed to be erasing the vibrant metropolis of Los Angeles.
Samantha's concerned gaze turned to Emily as she waited outside; her eyes flew over the assembly until they landed on her at last. She moved up to Emily and planted a firm hug.
How would you characterise it? Samantha's voice sounded with a tense expectancy.
Emily pushed back softly and simultaneously began to smile. "That presented a rather strong case. He is not handling it with decency.
Samantha's gaze focused tightly. I computed the same also. Still, you acted in the right line. What else therefore ought to follow?
Emily asked, "I'm not sure." He wants everything hidden from view, right in the shadows. He feels as if I am inflicting retribution on him via the child.
Pity made Samantha look more sympathetic. "That is impossible." You want to make sure your actions are just moral. Still, I know him well. To be honest, he needs some time to process this material.
Emily nodded gratefully in response to her friend's encouraging comments. I have to schedule that kind of time for him. Not only that but I also have to start thinking about what would be best for the youngster and myself.
Over the next few days, Emily went through a spectrum of emotions. She becomes fixated on how she may fit this new reality into her life. She made appointments to ascertain what she would require and how she would handle the next months, thereby preparing for the baby.
Though it was not entirely expected, Daniel's reaction to the news had been quite different. She knew he had failed in past relationships, hence his scepticism resulted straight from his past behaviour. Still, his tragic rejection left mental suffering.
Emily was on her laptop meticulously selecting names for her pregnant child one day when she got a call. This proved to be different. She stopped a moment then answered.
"What's up? "
Regarding Emily Davis, what about?
This is all hers.
Oliver Somerset here is us. You are here now. I am his brother and go by Daniel. I know that not too long ago you spoke with him.
Emily felt as if her pulse might stop. She knew Oliver, a less scary Sterling family member who was more kind. I can attest to having. What then is my role for you?
Oliver's voice seemed kind, yet there was a gravity about it. I would like to meet with you when you have some free time. I think we should have some conversation on these subjects.
Emily gasped out in surprise. Discuss this. specifically, concerning what?
About Daniel and his current situation. I would find great benefit from a chat with you.
Emily stopped momentarily and nodded. They thus decided to meet later on that day.
Emily noticed Oliver seated at a table in the corner of the coffee shop she was meant to meet him as soon as she arrived. Unlike Daniel's strict formality, he was dressed casually and his demeanour was fairly relaxed back. Rising to his feet and grinning warmly, he continued.
As he introduced himself, he said, "It's a pleasure to meet you," reaching for Emily's hand.
Emily gave it a shake, indicating her thanks for his warmth. Oliver, I also appreciate you coming back to me.
Oliver's indication for her to sit down was this. Of course, it makes me glad that you could make it. I wanted to talk to you about this as I think the issue transcends Daniel's initial reply.
Emily tilted her eyebrows. "What this suggests from this?"
Oliver swallowed his coffee and concentrated a lot of effort on his ideas. Over his life, Daniel has gone through a lot. Having his trust broken in the past, he is pretty cautious about everything. I know the ways his experiences in life have shaped him. On the other hand, I am aware that he does not feel any emotions at all. He only needs some time to digest this material.
Emily nodded, striking a mix of hope and fear. I would wish for you to be right. I want things to not turn into a conflict. I just want to act to the child's best advantage.
Oliver responded I can understand. I am also here to help you to bring it about. I think we can work together to find a good match for all those involved.
Emily turned to look at him, the prospect of some kind of compromise somewhat thrills her heart. "would be just fantastic."Exactly what would you advise?
Oliver leaned forward and sat down with a stony look. First of all, you and Daniel have to have an honest and open discussion away from the pressure related to his place of employment and workplace. Furthermore, Daniel needs to realise that this is about the future and the responsibilities of becoming a father, not about him or the mistakes he has made in the past.
Emily sighed in unhappiness and then started to get pretty hopeful. I have permission here. Although I am anxious to see our effort successful, I have to be sure Daniel is ready to put his doubts aside and work with me.
Oliver gave me a little smile that calmed me down. He will most likely do. Though it might take some time, I do not doubt that we will reach our target. I will speak with him and try to arrange a meeting where we may all get to connect.
Emily's hope wilting was experienced. Oliver, this is appreciated. I would like to thank you for your help.
Oliver remarked, "Anytime." "We are in this together" he stated. Let us first and most importantly ensure that our activities serve the best interests of the baby.
Emily left with a fresh resolution as they parted ways. Perhaps, just maybe, there was a method to arbitrate this challenging problem and come to a sensible conclusion that would have suited everyone engaged in it. She looked to have a long road ahead, but she was not about to give up. It isn't here right now.
