Ch 7 Reign's POV

After dropping the 2 warriors off at their homes I drove Nessa and myself to the pack house. I parked up front in the circle drive and we both climbed out of the jeep. Right there in our driveway I took out a pocketknife and nicked both our palms.

“I alpha Loreign Leann Leake hereby accept Vanessa Ranae Miller into my ranks so long as she vows loyalty to my pack for as long as she shall live.” I said as I lay the palm of my hand on her hand mixing our blood and thereby mixing her into our pack.

“I do.” Vanessa responded and the eyes of her wolf flashed on her face, and she let out a howl for the whole pack to hear and in return several pack members greeted her back with a howl. I smiled because this was a good sign of her future here.

I grabbed Nessa’s box of stuff out of the jeep and lead her into the house and to the elevator. I don’t normally take the elevator, but I was worried about the strength in her leg especially after the long trip in the woods, she seemed strong, but I wanted her to be able to make that judgement call herself.

Once on the 3rd floor I showed Nessa to her room but I let her open the door so she could look around and see it for herself.

“Oh wow, I love that whole wall of windows,” Nessa replied.

“It’s sleek and modern, I know there isn’t a lot of color, but I incorporated color in mine with accessories like my throw pillows. Tomorrow when we go shopping, we can get some things to make it homier. I have a meeting with my dad in the morning but otherwise we’ll have a girl's day, and we’ll leave by 9 a.m.” I say and she nods her head in agreement as she goes and plops down in the bed, “You also have a large bathroom and a walk-in closet to yourself, enjoy.” I add as I close the door and head for my room.

I wake up and look at the clock 7:30 a.m. damn I overslept, I take a quick shower and dress in dark skinny jeans and a long sleeve, green, hoodie looking shirt and I slide on my tennis shoes before heading to my office.

I pull out my diary, I only have a little while to write before my meeting and I have found the past couple days that by writing in the morning my decisions have been clearer when I make them, and I don’t second guess myself as much.

Dear Diary,

Today is Thursday November 15th and the last couple days have moved very quickly. Last night not only did I welcome Nessa into my pack, but I had another vision while I was sleeping, and she was there as my beta. My mate was in my vision again too, though in human form this time, and I can still smell his sweet honey scent. I don’t know how far into the future this vision is, but it is clear to me this is the path that must be taken. Vanessa must be my beta and for as long as I am putting stock into visions, I now know who to look for when the packs begin showing up in a few days. The moon goddess would not have blessed me with these visions if they did not mean anything and I believe this is my destiny.

My father will be here in moments for us to discuss the past couple of days and I will be telling him of my visions and telling him of my choice for beta. Wish me luck and hopefully I will have more to provide tomorrow.

I put my diary away and wait for my father and within moments my door opens, but it was Nessa. “Are you ready to go?” she asked.

“I’m just waiting on my dad, but actually Nessa, I think you should be here for this.” I replied

“Oh? Why?” she asked.

My office door opened again, “you’ll see.” I said as my dad came in and sat in one of the chairs across from me and I motioned for Nessa to sit in the other,

“Why is she here?” dad asked while looking at Nessa and she shrugged to him. They then both turned to look at me. I straightened myself up in my seat and laced my fingers on my lap.

“Let’s begin, shall we?” I asked and then began without waiting for an answer. “So, first order of business is that I have been having visions, starting with the story of her birthday.” I paused to let the two of them take it in.

My dad looked at me with curiosity, "Visions?" he asked.

“Wait you saw what happened to me?” Nessa asked.

“Yes, to both of you. Nessa I not only saw what happened to you, but I also felt it, I felt the bite but probably not like the pain you felt. Next up, I had a vision of my wolf and my mate’s wolf in our woods under the light of the full moon. And lastly, the dream I had last night, this one will answer the question I just know is nagging at you dad; I saw my mate again and Nessa as my beta.” I finished speaking and looked at both of their shocked faces.

“You’re sure about all this?” dad asked.

“Yes, I am. The moon goddess would not have blessed me with this gift if she didn’t want me to follow the path laid out before me. Who am I to question her?” I asked. We then sat in silence while I allowed them to process what I had said.

“If that’s what is to be done then I accept.” Nessa said with no further questions to ask.

“Well,” dad paused, “when the ceremony comes, I suppose that Vanessa will be introduced as your beta. I am trusting your judgement Reign, don’t disappoint.” My dad says and I can see it written all over his face that he is trying to be all tough, but he is a little worried for me, taking over the pack, learning how to judge every situation, and the big thing finding my mate; I’ll be an adult very soon and he is worried.

“I won’t dad, I promise. Now Nessa and I are going shopping to get her some clothes, a cell phone, some things for her room, and I need to get my dress tailored for the ceremony. You know the dress; the one mom wore for her Luna ceremony. I am going to wear it for my alpha ceremony.” I said with a small smile and my dad’s face lit up a little.

“That’s a good choice honey, I’m sure you will look amazing in it,” dad said, and I went around my desk and hugged my dad. “Love you sweetie, have fun.”

"Love you too, dad," I said and he released me from the hug, and we all left the room. He went to the second floor, probably to his office and Nessa and I were headed to get coffee and breakfast, probably in a drive thru and then shopping.
