The Alpha and His Cursed Princess

Chapter 28

Meanwhile, Lucas had been busy climbing with his fellow mountaineers and he was enjoying it very much. He had always loved climbing small hills and this time it was the first time they were moving upwards to higher peaks and it was too exciting. He was climbing with two famous climbers who had climbed the Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mont Blanc in France, Everest base camp in Nepal, Mount Kenya in Kenya, and this was just a small trek they had planned as they were sitting ideally and needed some exercise and he was lucky enough to accompany them. As they told him about all their adventures and experiences they had in different countries.

It’s been almost two days and Eric had been fettering him for a run. He wasn’t sure as he was in the company of humans as well as wolves and if he vanished all of a sudden people might panic. So he decided for the night to fall before going for a run as Eric his wolf was a little fitness freak and even though they had climbed way up high he wanted to go for a run, the silly wolf did not know that they were already fit by climbing steeps and slopes. He wondered how was Amelia doing as he couldn’t contact her as there was no network there. He was feeling a little guilty because he had sent her away to the mountain kingdom with Archie. He did not want to hide anything from her but she was not a wolf-like him and he could never let anything happen to his elder sister as she was his only family left. He made up his mind to check on her in the night. He had already summoned someone to keep a close watch on her as he knew Amelia was now in an open field in Denmark and his dad had a lot of enemies who would try to harm her that is why he had happily sent her with Archie Philip as he was the Alpha king of the Hilkiah pack and was known to be very ruthless.

And Amelia was his guest and he would never let anyone harm her for sure and because of which he could heave a sigh of relief. He had respected and admired Archie since he was a teenager as Harry had always treated him like his younger brother and Archie was his friend so they bonded well. And he was aware of the fact that Archie suspected that he was up to something and was trying to find it out through Amy but what Archie didn’t know was he need not have to be present in Halland at this time as he was laying low and waiting for the right moment for his attack as he had planned everything. And the time was approaching nearer for him to take the major step.

“What did you say, Beatrice?” Beta Dan asked nervously.

“Dad…”Beatrice was trembling as she looked at her dad who was looking at her furiously, she had always been afraid of him and now he looked like he will beat her up.

“Why didn’t you tell me before? You silly girl. Don’t you know it’s risky for Amelia to go out all alone into the human world?” Beta Dan said helplessly.

“But dad she has gone with Alpha Archie Philip, the Alpha of the Hilkiah pack and the ruler of the mountain kingdom.” Beatrice tried to explain it to her father.

“When did she go?” Dan asked

“The day after the wedding,” Beatrice confirmed.

“It’s already been two days. I hope everything is all right at her end and I am happy that she has gone with alpha Archie but Amy should have never set her foot outside Halland as it’s not safe for her. Lady Louis is out there waiting for an opportunity to attack her and she has a purpose. When she was banished from both the kingdoms she had sworn that she would finish up the whole Alexandra clan and Amy and Lucas are the only ones left.” Dan spoke with worry in his voice. “ I can’t let anything happen to them as I had promised alpha Curtis that I will always take care of them and that is why I have been guarding Amy and Lucas secretly as we were loyal to our Alpha. Lucas knows how to take care of himself as he is a wolf and will know if any danger approaches him but Amy is just a human and it’s all because of Lady Louise and the curse …” His voice trailed away.

Beatrice heard it and asked curiously. “Dad, what curse?”

Dan bit his tongue for being careless and said. “Nothing that you should know Beatrice. And keep calling Amy and ask her how she is doing and if you feel anything suspicious let me know. In the meanwhile, I will try to send my men to protect her.”

Noemi who had been quiet all this time growled inside her. “Your dad is hiding something.”

‘I know but he said I don’t have to know about it so can’t ask him again.” Beatrice muttered under her breathe.

“So go and ask mother, I am sure she will know,” Noemi suggested.

“All right now you can go Beatrice,” Dan spoke to his daughter sternly. “ And don’t go out too late as a few bad wolves are roaming around the city and I don’t want anything bad happening to you.”

“Okay, dad,” Beatrice said and walked out of her dad’s study.

As soon as she left, Bets Dan closed his eyes tried to connect with his pack through mind-link. They were all the sworn warriors of Alpha Curtis’s mystic pack but they got all scattered and shifted to Varmland because of the evil wolf Dante and his pack who now ruled over most of the wolves in Halland. But some wolves  still were faithful to their dead alpha and would do anything for him. And they saw Lucas as their future alpha just like his father and were waiting for him to kill Dante and get back his throne.

“Why didn’t anyone tell me about Amy going to the mountain kingdom?”

After a few minutes, the voices started echoing.

“What?” When did this happen?” one said.

“Sorry beta Dan I was out of the station.” Another said.

“I had a bad hangover after the wedding.” Someone said in a grumpy voice.

“The princess has gone out of Halland?” Someone asked.

It seems no one knew about Princess my going out of Halland so beta Dan shook his head in dismay.

So he said. “It seems none of us know that Amy has gone out of Halland and you all know how it’s unsafe for her, so I would suggest Beta Levine and beta Drake to go and protect her. Although she has gone with alpha Archie we can’t take the risk of leaving her all alone there.”

“All right Alpha.” Beta Levine and beta Drake chorused together and Beta Dan opened his eyes and looked at the photograph on his table. It was alpha Cutis and his wife’s picture and they look so happy and blissful. That night when they were killed the while kingdom had mourned their death and punished the people who were responsible but that didn’t bring them back. But they still had a hope that Lucas would bring them out of the clutches of the evil wolf Dante and his pack.

Beatrice went downstairs and approached her mother who was preparing lunch and she sniffed happily her wolf growled with hunger at t the smell of the delicious food.

“Mon is the lunch ready?” Beatrice had to ask as Noemi was behaving greedily.

“It will take another fifteen-minute.” Her mother informed her. “If you are hungry have some orange juice it’s on the table.”

“Okay, thank you, mom,” Beatrice said happily and poured a glass of juice and sipped it slowly and looked at her mother who was busy in the kitchen.

“What is it, Beatrice? Why are you looking at me like that?” Annette asked as she could feel her daughter was staring at her.

“Mom, can I ask you something?”

“Yes honey tell me but not anything related to Lucas, let him enjoy his life and stop nagging him about him being your mate, when the right time comes he will accept you,” Annette said.

Beatrice blushed. “Mom, I don’t want to talk about Lucas, it’s just that dad was talking something about curse when I told him about Amelia going to the mountain kingdom but he didn’t tell me completely,” Beatrice asked curiously.

“Did you ask him to tell you?”

“Yes, and he said I shouldn’t know,” Beatrice informed.

“Then I can’t tell you honey as it’s a taboo and we are not allowed to talk about it as we were sworn to secrecy by alpha Curtis. When the right time comes you will know about it.” Annette told her sternly.

“Oh, all right mom, but does Lucas know about it?” Beatrice asked curiously.

“No.” Her mother replied flatly.

Beatrice knew her mom would not give any more information so she did not pry and concentrated on sipping her juice slowly but after sometimes she had a mischievous gleam on her face and she smiled as if she has decided on something.
